Abstract

The effective allocation of educational resources is crucial for enhancing the quality of education. This study explores the development and application of a decision support system (DSS) using the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method. Various entities are evaluated based on a set of critical criteria. Using the TOPSIS approach, entities were systematically ranked, offering a clear directive for optimal resource allocation. This study provides a significant tool for resource management, offering a transparent, objective, and data-driven process. However, DSS should complement other qualitative and contextual considerations in the decision-making process. Future research directions include the integration of temporal data, broadening the set of criteria, and the inclusion of machine learning for dynamic decision-making. Ultimately, this study underscores the value of systematic and data-driven processes in resource allocation, contributing to the improvement of the quality of education

Abstract

This research investigates how a method known as Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), which is a tool for making decisions based on multiple criteria, might be utilized in the field of education. The goal is to determine the most effective techniques for enhancing the educational process based on a variety of variables, such as student performance, the efficacy of teachers, the relevance of the curriculum, the allocation of resources, and student participation. According to the findings, the solutions that are most likely to be chosen include introducing more interactive teaching methods as well as instituting a school-wide gamification system. However, some limitations of the SAW technique have been recognized. These shortcomings include the method's assumption of the independence of criteria and its sensitivity to weight assignments. The paper's authors concluded by giving suggestions for future research topics. These include the investigation of the impact different weight assignments have on the findings obtained by using the SAW approach, as well as the exploration of other decision-making systems. This research is an important contribution to the expanding body of knowledge on the application of decision-support systems in education and offers insightful information that can be helpful to teachers, school administrators, and policymakers.

Abstract

This study examines educational financing management strategies and their impact on the quality of school services at MTs Negeri 2 Bengkulu Tengah, an Islamic junior secondary school in Indonesia. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with the principal, treasurer, teachers, and school committee members, supported by non-participant observations and analysis of financial and planning documents, including the School Activity and Budget Plan (Rencana Kegiatan dan Anggaran Sekolah or RKAS) and School Operational Assistance (Bantuan Operasional Sekolah or BOS) realization reports. Data triangulation was applied to enhance credibility and analytical rigor. The findings reveal that the madrasah implements a strategic financing model characterized by participatory budget planning, priority-based allocation, transparent financial reporting, and multi-layered monitoring involving internal and external oversight. Empirical evidence demonstrates measurable impacts in three domains: (1) improvement of facilities and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) supported learning environments, (2) enhancement of teacher professional and digital competencies through targeted training allocation, and (3) strengthening of student services reflected in increased extracurricular participation and reduced absenteeism rates. Financial transparency and stakeholder engagement further contribute to strengthened public trust and institutional accountability. This study contributes to educational management scholarship by presenting an evidence-based financing governance model integrating strategic planning, participatory decision-making, and continuous evaluation. The findings highlight that the effectiveness of educational financing depends not merely on the availability of funds but on strategic, transparent, and accountable management practices that align financial decisions with service quality improvement objectives.
