Abstract

Globalization requires many sectors of life to be ready to compete globally. The application of the HOTS approach is considered an effective approach in growing higher order thinking skills based on nature. The writing of this article is to find out the teacher's strategy in developing higher order thinking skills in children at early childhood education institutions. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative, data obtained from observations, interviews and documentation with data analysis techniques using triangulation analysis methods. The results showed that children are often seen as weak individuals and have not been able to learn about social issues. The low ability to think in children is caused by the learning process that has not maximized children to think actively and find solutions to every challenge they face. To develop HOTS during the learning process the teacher must provide opportunities for children to be directly involved in every activity as well as questions that can spark children's thinking.

Abstract

Research that compiles interactive textbooks based on digital literacy for high school is still limited, especially based on Islamic literacy for Madrasah Aliyah Students.  This research is the initial stage of a research development with 4D Models (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) which aims to discover and analyze the needs of interactive teaching materials based on digital literacy of millennial Muslims in English subjects at Madrasah Aliyah. The subjects of this study were students of Islamic senior high schools (MAN) in Lampung Province, Islamic senior high school (MAN) 1 Kota Metro, Islamic senior high school (MAN) 1 Bandar Lampung, and Islamic senior high school (MAN) 1 Pringsewu. The number of respondents was 97 students.  The research data were obtained through a questionnaire consisting of 16 questions which is the development of four indicators., namely: students' needs for content/topics based on digital literacy of millennial Muslims, student needs related to four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) that are Islamic and digitally taught, students' needs for Islamic learning activities/processes, and students' needs for learning evaluation. Abstract

This research aims to compare the shotput technique between the O’Brien style and the spin style. This study uses comparative causal research. The population in this study is 150 junior high school students in Belitung. Through purposive sampling techniques obtained samples, namely the sample in this study is class VIII which amounts 15 students. The research design used is quantitative, which utilized the result of posttest after completing the learning. The initial analysis used hypotheses with the help of the SPSS24 (Statistical Product and Service Solution) computer program. The researcher's hypothesis test uses the t-test (independent sample t-test). Based on the SPSS output, the t-test (independent sample t-test) with a significant level of 0.04 with a specified lower limit of 0.05 obtained t calculated = 2.134 and t table = 2.0484. The H0 acceptance area is if t calculates 2.0484, it is clear that H0 is rejected. Thus, it can be concluded that there is a comparison between O'Brien style and Spin style, in which O’Brien Style gives the best results in learning shotput to students from junior high school students in the research field.

Abstract

Implementing a distance learning system has resulted in all teaching and learning activities innovated with online learning that can be accessed via distance. In this case, students certainly experience different difficulties and challenges. The encouragement and motivation from students to keep the spirit of following the lesson will determine the success of learning. This study aims to determine students' motivation to learn in online learning for advanced Civics courses at the PGMI study program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research, and the subject is students in the Advanced Civics course, totalling 33 students. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews and questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses an interactive model of Miles's theory; Huberman and Saldana analyze data in three stages: data condensation, presenting data (data display), and drawing conclusions or verification (conclusion drawing and verification). The results showed that the Advanced Civics Study Program students at the PGMI UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta had high motivation, obtaining 72.66%. This means that even though students have undergone online lectures with a distance learning system for 4 semesters, it does not affect students' motivation to continue learning, even though there are several obstacles during the process. Abstract

Many lecturers wrote their (formal) learning objectives at the beginning of each session. However, many of them also ignored the existence of hidden objectives, whereas if applied, the hidden objectives will maximize learning outcomes broadly. The hidden objective, that was applied to Micro Teaching courses at the university is discussed. In this paper, we outlined the concept of hidden objectives in developing and nurturing teaching skills for prospective teachers. The article was based on literature analysis relating to the concepts of curriculum, hidden curriculum, and learning objectives. We endeavoured to review the literature, definition, and principles of hidden objectives to develop a better understanding. We concluded that hidden objectives provide a contribution to the Micro Teaching course, and we recommended a model addressed to lecturers at the related departments, to the head of the department where the course was carried out, and to a unit of curriculum development at the Faculty of Education.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical information about the effectiveness of using media charts and peer tutors in hydrobiology on-line lectures. The study used an experimental method with a randomized control-group pretest-posttest design. The students participating in the Hydrobiology course in the odd semester 2020/2021, with a total of 58 people, were divided into two classes, namely, class A and class B. Before the experiment, a pretest was conducted with the basic concepts of Hydrobiology to be taught. The results of the pretest scores were analyzed and the differences were interpreted using t-test statistics, and the results showed that there was no significant difference in the pretest scores between class A and B (significance value 0.359 = 0.05). The results showed that the use of chard media and peer tutoring through direct on-line lecture teaching (treatment group), was effectively used to improve learning achievement (N-gain) compared to classes that used group discussions (control group), with indicators: N The total gain in the treatment class was higher than the N-gain in the control group. The learning management is also explained
