Abstract

Steel reinforcement is well known as an important component in forming building structures. However, as the community's need for reinforcing steel is increasing, the main material for forming steel reinforcement is decreasing so that the price is getting higher. The alternative that is suggested as a substitute for tensile steel reinforcement which is economical and easy to get is bamboo. The purpose of this study was to determine the ratio of beam bending using circular and square bamboo reinforcement and to determine the bending load that can be accepted by circular and square bamboo reinforcement. In this study an experimental method was used by conducting a series of tests ranging from preserving bamboo and testing aggregates as a building block for concrete. The cross sections of bamboo reinforcement used are square and circle shapes with a diameter of 10mm with beam dimensions of 900 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm. The results showed that the flexural strength produced by steel reinforcing concrete beam was 11,36 MPa, circular cross section bamboo reinforcing beam 8,73 MPa and rectangle cross section bamboo reinforcing concrete beam of 9,04 MPa.

Abstract

Sistem multi-robot telah diterapkan pada tugas-tugas kompleks yang biasanya dilakukan oleh manusia. Untuk dapat menjalankan tugasnya, robot perlu bernavigasi ke dari suatu posisi ke posisi lain. Agar dapat bernavigasi dengan baik, robot memerlukan peta sebagai acuannya dalam bernavigasi. Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) merupakan sebuah metode bagi robot untuk dapat membuat peta dan melakukan lokalisasi. ORB SLAM-2 merupakan sebuah metode SLAM berbasis sensor visual yang kompatibel terhadap kamera monokular, stereo, maupun RGBD. Dengan menggunakan kamera monokular, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat rancangan sistem pemetaan lingkungan multi-robot dengan menggunakan algoritma ORB SLAM-2. Tugas akhir ini merancang sistem desentralisasi sehingga algoritma dijalankan pada kedua robot. Kemudian setiap robot melakukan pemetaan lingkungannya dan mengirimkannya ke komputer agar dapat divisualisasi. Pada percobaannya, rancangan ini berhasil membuat sistem melaksanakan tugasnya dengan baik. Peta yang dihasilkan oleh sistem ini memiliki skala sekitar 1 : 5,81. Sistem juga dapat memvisualisasikan peta yang dihasilkan oleh masing-masing robot pada sebuah komputer server. Berdasarkan hasil percobaan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem pemetaan lingkungan multi-robot menggunakan ORB SLAM-2 dapat dilakukan dengan mendesentralisasi sistem. Dengan ini, beban kerja sistem terbagi menjadi dua, pertama pemrosesan gambar dilakukan oleh masing-masing robot hingga menghasilkan titik-titik peta dan kedua komputer server bertugas untuk memvisualisasikan titik-titik peta yang dihasilkan robot pada antarmuka pengguna.

Abstract

Workers who can control electric motors are currently needed. Therefore, knowledge about controlling electric motors should be taught in vocational high schools. Installation and control of electric motors in the industry are generally used in various devices related to the production process such as controlling the motor driving conveyor belts, controlling pumps on factory pipes, and controlling freight elevators. The problem that arises is the lack of knowledge about electric motor control in vocational school teachers and insufficient facilities for the learning process of electric motor control. Also, Vocational High School (SMK) has not been able to change the old learning patterns to the new learning patterns required in the 2013 curriculum. One of the changes in the curriculum is a change from teacher-centered learning to student-centered learning. In this service program, learning the installation and control of electric motors in the simulator of elevators was developed using the Problem Based Learning (PBL) approach for students of SMKN 1 Cipatat. The first step in implementing this program is to study the curriculum and syllabus applied to the two partner vocational schools, then design a learning process for the installation and control of electric motors using the PBL method. The PBL method was chosen because this method can simultaneously be used to increase students' soft skills such as the ability to innovate, discipline, and the ability to convey ideas both in writing and orally. Besides, the PBL method can also support changes to learning patterns as required in the 2013 curriculum.

Abstract

One of the causes of accidents on trains to date has been caused by damage of railways such as cracked rails, broken rails and other rail defects. Currently, the inspection of the railway line is still carried out manually by the railway inspection officer or Petugas Penilik Jalan Rel (PPJ). However, there is a prototype Autonomous Railways Monitoring Robot (ARMR) which is a prototype inspection robot that can perform rail line checks automatically and be monitored remotely to detect any faults on the railway. The ARMR prototype detects faults as well as locations that are subsequently delivered to users by utilizing some Internet of Things (IoT) features. Faults detected by ARMR prototypes are faults as rail damage. But, the ARMR prototype is unable to distinguish a fault and rail connection. This final task aims to improve armr prototype capabilities to produce information in the form of depth and width of faults, and to distinguish faults and rail connections. The VL6180X sensor is a laser- based distance sensor used as a depth detector for rail faults and rail connections. The Incremental Encoder is enabled to measure the width of the rail fault. The result of ten experiments at 20 cm/s, the ARMR prototype was able to produce 78 mm fault depth size information with an error value of 1,67%, produce 5 mm wide fault width information with an error value of 2,48 % and be able to distinguish faults and connections with 72 % accuracy for the comparison of the distance between the ARMR prototype and the distance shown on google maps.

Abstract

Research-based on data on the low student learning outcomes. Internal and external factors cause little learning outcomes. Previous research has concluded that valid and practical E-learning media will streamline the learning process. Research focuses on one of the external factors that cause low learning outcomes. E-learning media is an external factor that is the focus of research. This study aims to analyze the E-learning media on learning outcomes. The analysis results will provide an overview of E-learning media's influence on improving learning outcomes. The increase in learning outcomes in the form of post-test scores on E-learning media is carried out. This research is an experimental study with a randomized control-group post-test only design, where the research subjects were students majoring in automotive engineering. Samples were taken randomly using data collection in data test for student learning outcomes in the Automotive Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, UNP. The collected learning outcome test data were analyzed according to the data analysis process, and the results were tested to examine E-learning media's effect on improving student learning outcomes. The test results showed an increase in learning outcomes by 25.33%. The research concludes that E-learning media has no significant impact on learning outcomes.

Abstract

Renewable energy from solar cells is a type of alternative energy for consumers, especially those far from electricity, and saves electrical energy. This research developed an innovative tool for portable solar power generators as a source of energy, which stores electrical energy in two ways, namely solar cells and transformers. Furthermore, this research is expected to improve innovation tools for more efficient electricity supply and energy use, especially for rural communities. It also uses a variety of battery capacities to test portable power supplies. The results showed that the power supply using 100 Wp solar cells produced a capacity of 20 Ah, 60 Ah, and 100 Ah on the battery. Charging with a solar energy source on a 20 Ah battery takes a duration of 5 hours to be fully charged, while 60 Ah and 100 Ah batteries cannot be fully charged in one day. Charging a battery that has been run at a full level takes a duration of 15 hours at a temperature of 30oC to 34oC. Finally, this tool is expected to add variety to locally manufactured products.

Abstract

One of the problems in improving the competence of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) for mathematics teachers is that the teacher has to leave his / her teaching activities to participate in various improving competence events. This study aims to develop an ICT house portal that will be managed by the Mathematics Subject Teacher Forum in Indonesia or known as MGMP that allows teachers to interact with fellow teacher communities to improve ICT competence without having to leave their teaching activities at school. Furthermore, the researchers also conducted a usability test of the developed portal. The application development model used is the ADDIE model which stands for Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. Meanwhile, application usability testing was carried out by distributing usability questionnaires to 30 respondents consisting of postgraduate students and lecturers of mathematics education. The results showed that the ADDIE model can be used to design and create the ICT house portal called RumahTIK where the procedures in the development section include making applications, testing by experts, testing content filling, testing the use of clinical features. Based on the results of the usability questionnaire processing, the percentage of usability was 81% which was classified as very feasible. Although this research was not implemented for real teacher groups, the ICT house portal is very suitable for use by the MGMP group. In the future, it is necessary to implement this portal in various MGMP groups so that recommendations can be obtained to improve teachers' ICT competence in mathematics.

Abstract

In the power electronics learning process, apart from theory, it is also necessary to carry out practicum learning to improve the competence of students, so that the learning process runs well, learning is held in the laboratory using a training kit. Practical training kit is very important in the educational process, especially at the level of vocational education at the diploma level. Its existence is very much needed to improve the competence of students and make it easier for teaching staff to carry out the teaching and learning process, especially for practicum activities. The aim of this research is to produce a boost converter practicum training kit, where the parameters are close to the values ​​calculated in theory and simulation. The method used is the experimental method in which the boost converter theory study is designed, made and tested. The test results show that the value of voltage, current and output power shows an average error presentation of less than 10% and the efficiency of the Boost Converter an average of 74% - 95%. The boost converter training kit can be produced well, so that it can be used as a support in power electronics practicum, especially on DC - DC Converter material.

Abstract

The lack of total student involvement in the learning process is due to a lack of effort in finding information independently and not achieving active learning. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of intrinsic motivation on project-based learning in the automotive engineering education student workforce transfer system course. The method used was a quasi-experimental research design with a 2x2 factorial. The population used was students of the Automotive Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University, 2020/2021 academic year. The results showed that students who applied project-based learning had higher learning outcomes than using conventional methods. This was based on the value of Fcount greater than Ftable, 7.866 > 3.34 at the 0.05 significance level. There is an interaction between learning methods and students' intrinsic motivation towards learning outcomes, this is evidenced by the value of Fcount is greater than Ftable, 7.602> 3.34 at the 0.05 significance level. There is a significant difference in student learning outcomes between project-based learning and conventional learning which has high intrinsic motivation. The final research result is that there is no significant difference in student learning outcomes between project-based learning and conventional learning which has low intrinsic motivation

Abstract

Early childhood talent identification sport programs are needed to decide the potential of children in certain sports. It is expecting that children will be able to maximize sports achievements according to their talents. To find out a human's talent in sports, several parameters can be used for a measurement. One of them is the anthropocentric test, which is a series of processes for measuring the dimensions of the human body with in the form of body height and weight. Based on the results of measurement analysis, children will be able to identify their sport talents. Therefore, a website-based height and weight measurement system was developed that is able to provide information on measurement results and talents identification. The development of this tool uses the ESP 32 Dev Kit Module as a micro controller, an ultrasonic sensor for height sensors and a load cell for a weight sensor. The data are sent to the database contained on the website for further processing and analysis based on the measurement results of talent in the sports field. The measurement website page can display measurement results and identify type of talent that belongs to the child. Based on the results of measurement and data analysis, the accuracy of the tools for measuring body height were 98.7% and body weight were 99.5%, while the precision of the tools were 98.6% for body height and body weight were 97.4%.
