Abstract

Pineapple peels are a potential food waste capable of being repurposed as a substrate for producing high-antioxidant probiotic beverages. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the feasibility of using pineapple peels as a substrate for producing high-antioxidant probiotic beverages through fermentation by Lactobacillus plantarum and Lactobacillus casei. Pineapple peels juice was fermented for 48 hours and the growth of microorganisms, reducing sugars, pH, titratable acid, polyphenol compounds, and antioxidant activity were periodically analyzed. The results showed that after 24 hours, the growth of L. plantarum and L. casei gradually slowed down. As fermentation time increased, the levels of reducing sugars and the pH decreased. L. casei reached the highest titratable acidity of 0.90% equivalent to lactic acid after 48 hours of fermentation, while L. plantarum reached 1.21%. The percentage of radical inhibition and phenolic compound increased between 9 and 30 hours of fermentation. The highest inhibition activity of 39% was achieved after 30 hours of fermentation for L. casei, while for L. plantarum, it reached 55% after 9 hours. This study showed that pineapple peels could produce probiotic beverages with high antioxidant. It was a suitable alternative for vegetarians or individuals who were allergic to dairy products.

Abstract

Flip PDF Professional is software that has the ability to convert PDF documents into digital rotating pages, which enables the creation of interactive learning content with a variety of supporting features. This research includes a type of research and development that develops, produces, validates and tests whether the product is effective or not and can be accounted for. This research uses the ADDIE model where the stages are A (Analysis), D (Design), D (Development), I (Implementation) and E (Evaluation). Based on the results of the validity test of electronic teaching materials using Flip PDF Professional in class V elementary school, the material expert assessment results were 96% in the very valid category, media/design experts were 88% in the very valid category and language experts were 95% in the very valid category. very valid. Meanwhile, the practicality results show very practical criteria after assessing practicality by students with an average score of 92.77% in the very practical category and practicality assessment by teachers with an average score of 86.67% in the very practical category. This shows that electronic teaching materials using Flip PDF Professional in class V elementary schools meet the criteria of being very practical and valid for application in elementary schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop a digital module using the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) framework in enhancing students' life skills and assessing the effectiveness of lecturers' learning management. The respondents of this study were the fourth-semester students of the Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD) program. This study employed an R&D (Research and Development) design that follows the 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) model. The design adopted the theory proposed by Plomp, which outlines five steps: problem analysis, design, realization, implementation, and evaluation. The findings of this study indicated that students have a significant role in teaching and learning process. It revealed the lecturers’ self-reflection on digital technology-based teaching abilities. Additionally, it implied the development of student creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, negotiation, and decision-making skills. These are integral components of 21st-century skills that play a pivotal role in students' future careers. This study concluded that the digital module using TPACK framework could enhance students' life skills and demonstrated high practicality regarding usage and lecturers’ self-development.

Abstract

The development of chemical literacy measurement instruments is influenced by changes and progress in frameworks, methods, and educational technologies. The study aimed to investigate the framework and test types that are utilized to measure students’ chemical literacy levels. With adherence to the PRISMA  20202, thirty-five empirical studies published between 2014  and 2023 are analyzed to find publication characteristics, chemical literacy frameworks, and test types. The finding showed that most publications were recorded in 2019, and the respondents who were involved in the research in the largest number are high school students, descriptive and experimental research are popular choices for researchers. The vast majority of studies develop chemical literacy tests using PISA and Shwartz et al frameworks and open-ended questions. Moreover, further research ought to inquire into the implementation of the chemical literacy test and integrate innovative technology of testing

Abstract

This research was conducted based on the findings of problems in the field, one of which is the learning outcomes of students in science learning are still low compared to other learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the development, feasibility, and effectiveness of Augmented Reality Book learning media as a science learning media on water cycle material in elementary schools. The method used is R & D (Research & Development), and the development model used is the ADDIE model. The results of research and development are obtained from the results of feasibility trials and the results of usage trials. From media experts get a percentage of 91.67% with a very feasible category and from material experts get a percentage of 90.38% with a very feasible category. The results of the small group usage trial obtained an average posttest of 81.30 with an average pretest value of 54. While the results of the large group usage trial obtained an average posttest of 79.18 with an average pretest value of 50.27. With an increase in learning outcomes in the moderate category of 61% in small groups, while in large groups there was an increase in learning outcomes in the moderate category of 58%. So it can be concluded that AR-Book-based science learning media on water cycle material effectively improves student learning outcomes. For this reason, researchers hope that there is support for more complete learning facilities so that the application of using the media is more effective and more efficient.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the influence of ethnoscience learning on the development of students' cognitive and affective aspects. This quasi-experimental research uses a pre-test post-test non-equivalent control group design. This research was carried out in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The population of this study was 320 class VII students at MTsN 1 Mataram, with a sample size of 34 people in the experimental class and 34 people in the control class. Data was obtained from test instruments for the "cognitive" aspect in the form of essays and questionnaire instruments for the "affective" aspect in the form of attitude statements. The statistical test used in this research is one-way MANCOVA with one covariate. The results of the research show that there is a significant difference in the influence of using ethnoscience learning on cognitive and affective learning simultaneously or together after controlling for students' initial abilities. The cognitive and affective scores of students in classes that use ethnoscience learning are higher than those in conventional classes. The conclusion of this research is that ethnoscience learning has a positive effect on the cognitive and affective aspects of junior high school students at MTsN 1 Mataram.

Abstract

The analytical methods used to analyze ginsenoside compounds include TLC, HPTLC, HPLC, UPLC, GC and MS. The HPLC method is the most widely used analytical technique with various combinations of UV detection or with ELSD. The HPLC method is a method of separating and purifying chemical compounds or medicinal compounds. To study new information from optimization for the separation of ginsenoside Re and ginsenoside Rg1 compounds, then validate the analytical method to show that the method provides accurate results in accordance with the requirements. The data and information used in this review article come from national and international journals. The data and information search method was carried out using the literature research method. keywords: "Optimization of Separation and Method Validation of Ginsenoside Compounds using the HPLC method" with a journal publication period 2019-2023. Of the 35 research articles found, only 9 journals met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Studies on ginsenoside compounds Re and Rg1 in ginseng plants are still not well separated. So it’s still necessary to optimize the analytical method using the HPLC method and then validate the analytical method to show that the method provides accurate results in accordance with the requirements.
