Abstract

This study examines the effect of counseling using Decision Making Tools (ABPK) on the use of fertilization inhibition methods during the postpartum period at TPMB Eva Lestarida Bekasi in 2024. ABPK serves as a standard guide in family planning counseling, focusing on client rights and informed choice. The research employs a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach, involving 200 respondents. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon statistical test. Prior to counseling, 72% of respondents did not use fertilization inhibition methods. After ABPK counseling, the use of these methods increased to 71.5%, showing a significant change (p = 0.000). The findings indicate that ABPK-based counseling greatly influences patients' decisions, enabling them to choose the most appropriate fertilization inhibition method. These results highlight the effectiveness of ABPK in improving family planning counseling services by ensuring that patients make informed choices based on accurate information. ABPK is thus proven to be a valuable tool in educating patients and supporting their decisions regarding postpartum contraceptive methods.

Abstract

The high prevalence of cancer must be overcome with prompt and appropriate prevention and treatment. New drug design is an effort to develop existing drugs, and their molecular structure and biological activity have been known through structural modification. It encourages researchers to explore Indonesia's natural resources, especially plants with anticancer activity, namely by synthesizing chalcone-derived compounds derived from the isolation of Fingerroot rhizomes (Boesenbergia rotunda). The most common flavonoid compound found in rhizomes fingerroot plants is pinostrobin. Pinostrobin compounds and their derivatives are synthesized, resulting in chalcone compounds and their derivative modifications. The author conducted an in-silico test on pinostrobin compounds and 19 of their derivatives, chalcone compounds, and 18 derivatives using estrogenic-a receptors with PDB codes 3ERD and 1G50. The author hoped that from this silico test, compounds with more potential as anticancer for breast cancer would be obtained based on the results of docking with 3ERD and 1G50 receptors and can then be synthesized. In the results of this study, the compounds Bis-4-bromobenzyoxychalcone and Bis-4-chlorobenzyloxychalcone are the most appropriate compounds to be synthesized. It is hoped that in the future, they can be continued with activity tests of these compounds, both in vitro and in vivo, because these compounds are predicted to have the best activity and do not have hepatotoxic or other toxicity effects

Abstract

The tofu industry is growing because it is a cheap and nutritious food, but the production process produces liquid and solid waste that is harmful to the environment. The research aims to describe the community's perception of the social, economic, and environmental conditions of the tofu-making business and calculate the value of community losses to maintain ecosystem value. This research uses survey and interview methods with communities in tofu production centers. Data analysis using the CVM method (Contingent Valuation Method) to estimate the costs that the community will pay. The research results show that the community's response around the tofu-making business to the social environment is in the category of not providing employment opportunities and children's education. The community's response to economic aspects is in the disagree category, meaning that the tofu-making business has no impact on increasing people's income and purchasing power. Respondents disagreed that tofu liquid waste disturbed the surrounding environment. Before being discharged into waterways, liquid waste goes through a processing process in a wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) so that liquid waste discharged into rivers is free from chemicals and odor. Meanwhile, solid waste is sold for animal feed. Value of willingness to pay (willingness to pay) community to maintain ecosystem value of IDR 80,450/year/KK.
