Abstract

Heart disease remains a significant challenge in the medical field, particularly in predictive diagnostics. This research aims to present a comprehensive investigation into the development and evaluation of a novel approach for heart disease detection using a Weighted k-Nearest Neighbors (WKNN) method. The method employs Euclidean distance metrics and Gaussian kernel weighting for optimal classification results. The research dataset consists of 200 data points, each with 10 key indicators such as age, sex, chest pain type, resting blood pressure, cholesterol levels, fasting blood sugar, resting electrocardiographic results, maximum heart rate achieved, exercise-induced angina, and ST depression relative to rest. Through rigorous experimentation, it is identified that the optimal value of K for classification is 11, with a sigma value of 1.5 for the Gaussian kernel weighting. During the training and evaluation phase, the proposed WKNN method achieved impressive performance metrics, with an accuracy of 91.8%, precision of 93%, and recall of 91%. These findings underscore the potential of the WKNN model as a reliable tool for heart disease detection, showing great promise for practical application in clinical settings. The results emphasize that the proposed method can contribute significantly to improving diagnostic accuracy for heart disease patients

Abstract

This study aims to predict potential declines in students' Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM) in higher grades (4th, 5th, and 6th) by analyzing their cognitive, affective, and psychomotor scores from lower grades (1st, 2nd, and 3rd). Using a quantitative research method, various machine learning algorithms were applied, including Naive Bayes, K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), Support Vector Machines (SVM), and Neural Networks. The dataset comprised students' scores across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains from the lower grades. After training and comparing the models, the Neural Network algorithm demonstrated the best performance, achieving 89% accuracy and 100% recall. These results indicate that the model can help teachers identify students at risk of struggling with KKM standards in higher grades, enabling early interventions. The study concludes that Neural Networks offer a promising tool for early detection of academic challenges in elementary education.

Abstract

Science learning in secondary schools has not been fully linked to local culture and the environment, and has not supported students' scientific literacy and cultural character. This is because teachers have difficulty learning the relationship between local culture and finding the right green chemistry principles with science learning. To strengthen the concept of science learned, ethnoscience learning can be oriented with the principles of green chemistry contained in learning media in the form of e-modules. This study aims to determine the profile of scientific literacy and cultural character of students who have been taught with the developed e-modules. The results of the study showed that students' scientific literacy competencies in interpreting scientific data and evidence, designing and evaluating scientific investigations, and explaining scientific phenomena were respectively 57.67, 87.12 and 66.67. This shows that students' literacy abilities are in the moderate category. The highest literacy level achievement is at level 1, at 76.67%, and the lowest at level 6 at 5.0%. While the highest cultural character value is in the curiosity indicator at 85% and the lowest is friendly/communicative with an achievement of 75%.

Abstract

Increased public interest in red rice and black rice has triggered breeders to develop superior varieties that have high yields and are tolerant of the threat of drought. Genetic parameters are the basis needed for breeding to develop superior varieties. This research aims to examine the genetic parameters of pigmented rice genotypes grown upland. The experiment was carried out in June – September 2024 experimentally in the field using a gogo system, namely in Tampak Siring Village, Batukliang, Central Lombok, NTB. The design used was a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 21 treatments, 10 red rice lines, 4 black rice lines, 4 parent lines, and 2 comparison varieties. Obtained 63 experimental units by repeating each treatment three times. The data collected was then analyzed using a one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test with a Randomized Block Design (RAK) model at a confidence level of 95% (α=5%), genetic diversity coefficient (KKG) formula, heritability and genotypic correlation. Referring to the analysis that has been carried out, the findings of the coefficient of genetic diversity and heritability of the number of full grains, weight of 100 grains, yield per plot of red rice and black rice lines are in the high category. The number of productive tillers, weight of 100 grains and weight of grain per hill had a significant positive correlation with the yield per plot, while the number of empty grain parameters had a significant negative correlation with the yield per plot.
