Abstract

The rapid digital transformation of education has accelerated the use of artificial intelligence, particularly deep learning, to support adaptive and personalized learning systems. However, research in this field remains fragmented, and its overall development has not been systematically mapped. This study aims to identify trends, gaps, and future directions of deep learning in education between 2000 and 2025. A scoping review was conducted on 491 journal articles indexed in Scopus, followed by bibliometric analysis to examine publication growth, keyword co-occurrence, and thematic clusters. The results show a sharp increase in publications since 2018, reflecting growing academic attention to this field. Four dominant clusters were identified: (1) academic evaluation and assessment, (2) learner perceptions and experiences, (3) algorithmic exploration and model efficiency, and (4) reflective and systemic approaches to technology-based learning. While technical and evaluative studies dominate, ethical, affective, and social dimensions remain underexplored, particularly in primary education and Global South contexts. The findings highlight the need for future research to adopt a more transdisciplinary and contextualized approach, integrating pedagogy, digital ethics, and human-centered design. This study contributes strategically by providing a comprehensive knowledge map to guide researchers, policymakers, and practitioners in designing equitable and sustainable AI-based education systems.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify mud crab species inhabiting the mangrove ecosystem of Batu Ampar, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. Sampling was conducted from 26 October – 2 November 2024 during low tide using manual hand-catching, traditional traps (bubu), and fishermen’s catches obtained through interviews. A total of 20 crab individuals were collected and identified based on external morphological characteristics, referring to identification keys from WWF-Indonesia and the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS). The results identified two dominant species, Scylla serrata and Scylla paramamosain. The main morphological differences included carapace coloration, claw size and shape, and the number and form of frontal spines. Among the total samples, S. serrata was more dominant compared to S. paramamosain. Interviews with fishers also revealed a body size classification commonly used in trade, namely Size A (≥ 600 g) and Size B (± 200 g), which directly influenced market prices. These findings confirm that the Batu Ampar mangrove ecosystem supports more than one economically valuable mud crab species. The study provides baseline information that can serve as an initial reference for sustainable management and conservation of mud crabs in coastal West Kalimantan

Abstract

eacher professionalism is a critical determinant of educational quality, yet it is often influenced by leadership practices and the prevailing work climate in schools. This study addresses the problem of limited empirical evidence regarding how situational leadership contributes to teacher professionalism through the mediating role of work climate in early childhood education. The research aimed to analyze the direct and indirect effects of principals’ situational leadership on teacher professionalism at Raudlatul Athfal Muslimat Nahdlatul Ulama Payaman, Magelang Regency. A quantitative explanatory design was employed involving 88 teachers selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using validated Likert-scale questionnaires and analyzed through descriptive statistics, path analysis, and the Sobel test to examine mediation effects. The results showed that situational leadership significantly affected work climate (β = 0.62, p < .001) and teacher professionalism (β = 0.35, p < .001). Work climate also had a significant mediating effect (β = 0.25, Sobel z = 3.90, p < .001), explaining 64% of the variance in teacher professionalism (R² = 0.64). The study concludes that adaptive situational leadership strengthens teacher professionalism both directly and indirectly by creating a positive, collaborative, and supportive work climate.

Abstract

This experimental study aimed to analyze the science process skills and cognitive abilities of students taught through inquiry and hands-on learning. The independent variables were guided inquiry and hands-on learning, while the dependent variables were students' science process skills and cognitive abilities. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the average KPS score in the guided inquiry group was 19.96 with a standard deviation of 2.01, while the direct learning group was 15.41 with a standard deviation of 4.04. For cognitive abilities, the average score in the guided inquiry group was 18.56 with a standard deviation of 4.18, while the direct learning group was 14.74 with a standard deviation of 3.40. These results indicate a difference in learning outcomes between the two groups, which can be used as a basis for further analysis. Based on the t-test results, there was a significant difference in cognitive abilities between the experimental and control classes (p = 0.001, where p < α = 0.05). Similarly, the difference in science process skills (SPS) was also significant (p = 0.000). These results indicate that guided inquiry learning plays a significant role in improving science process skills and provides a positive contribution to students' cognitive abilities compared to direct learning.

Abstract

Ni-Hard cast iron was selected for the pump cover material because of its exceptional abrasion resistance afforded by a Ni–Cr-alloyed, martensitic matrix with hard carbides. This alloy (e.g. ASTM A532 Ni-Hard 4) typically has hardness in the 50–58 HRC range. However, this extreme hardness makes conventional machining difficult, often causing rapid tool wear and poor surface finish. In contrast, conventional cast irons like FC25 machine easily but fail prematurely under abrasive service. Thus, to balance wear resistance and machinability, we heat-treated Ni-Hard. Annealing experiments (400–600 °C and 800–1000 °C) were carried out, followed by hardness testing and machining trials. We find that high-temperature annealing (1000 °C, 4–6 h) effectively softens the Ni-Hard (to ~39–32 HRC), enabling conventional milling with minimal tool failure. Lower-temperature anneals produced little softening and even carbide precipitation. These results agree with literature on high-Cr iron annealing. The softened microstructure (spheroidized carbides, ferrite/austenite matrix) and substantially improved machinability validate Ni-Hard’s suitability after annealing for abrasive slurry pump components.

Abstract

Teacher performance is crucial for improving the quality of education in schools and the academic performance of students. Past studies have shown that both OCB and positive personality can have a significant impact on teacher performance. However, in order to better understand the strength and consistency of the correlation between these factors and performance, it is necessary to comprehensively integrate and analyze previous empirical findings. This meta-analysis examines the impact of organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and proactive personality on teacher performance, synthesizing findings from 35 empirical studies published between 2020 and 2025. The results show that both OCB (r = 0.533) and proactive personality (r = 0.444) have significant positive effects on teacher performance, with OCB having a slightly stronger influence. The analysis reveals moderate heterogeneity across studies and no evidence of publication bias. These results strongly demonstrate the need for nuturing and it is OCB and proactive personality in schools to enhance teacher effectiveness. Practical implications include promoting a sense of organizational belonging and informal recognition to improve teacher performance outcomes.
