An effective and successful language learning process can only be achieved when students actively participate in the class. This research aimed to improve students’ class participation by the optimization of Think Pair Share (TPS) technique. This research was conducted as classroom action research whose subject was the tenth grade students of DPIB B class in a vocational highschool in Surakarta in the academic year of 2018/2019. The data were gathered from the research instruments, such as: observation, interview, questionnaire, research diary, and photographs. The data were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative. The findings of the research showed that implementation of TPS was successful in improving students’ participation with the increase in the number of: (1) students asking and answering questions; (2) students’ interaction during the class; (3) students paying their attention during the class; (4) students interacting during group discussion; and (5) students speaking in front of the class. There were also some challenges that the researcher faced during the implementation of TPS technique, such as: (1) the familiarity of the technique to the students; (2) teacher’s control of the class; (3) students’ readiness in receiving the lesson; (4) difficulty in expressing opinion and ideas; (5) lack of confidence in speaking; (6) low grammar mastery; and (7) lack of vocabulary.

This research aims at describing: (1) the implementation Role Play model inteaching learning process on Micro Teaching subject at FKIP UNS, (2) whether or not theimplementation Role Play model improve the students’ teaching competencies. Thisresearch was conducted using Classroom Action Research consisting two cycles. Thelocation of the research was Economic Education Department BKK PTN TeacherTraining and Education Faculty UNS. The result of the research showed that Role Playmodel could improve the students' teaching competencies and personal competencies.This model provided learning experiences for the students to be more confident if theyshould teach in the class.

This research is about the study on the effectiveness of inquiry strategy uponstudent's achievement in history subject, dealing with cognitive, affective and creativethinking domains, with student’s entry behaviour, interest in the subject, family backgroundand student's achievement in religion and Pancasila Education as covariates.The inferential analysis such as t-test and anacova were used to test the hypothesis.The result of the testing of the hypothesis revealed that at the level of significance a =0,01, the main hypothesis was accepted. The contribution of student's entry behaviourwas 10,10 %. The study concluded that there was a significant different in student'sachievement using inquiry strategy in the instructional materials and the classicalmethod of teaching. This means that inquiry strategy in the instructional materials wasmore effective than classical learning.

Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) kelayakan model pembelajaran P2OEW pada materi pencemaran, (2) efektivitas produk model pembelajaran P2OEW pada materi pencemaran terhadap hasil belajar, (3) perbedaan hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran P2OEW pada materi pencemaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode R&D yang dimodifikasi, yaitu (1) melakukan penelitian pendahuluan dan pengumpulan informasi, (2) melakukan perencanaan, (3) mengembangkan bentuk produk awal, (4) melakukan ujicoba terbatas, (5) melakukan revisi terhadap produk utama, (6) uji coba lapangan, dan (7) melakukan revisi terhadap produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kelayakan model pembelajaran P2OEW berkategori sangat baik setelah dilakukan uji coba lapangan; (2) peningkatan hasil belajar siswa cukup signifikan, yaitu dalam kategori sedang setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran P2OEW; (3) ada perbedaan hasil belajar siswa setelah dilakukan uji secara statistik, yaitu perbedaan hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan setelah dilakukan model pembelajaran P2OEW.

Tujuan penelitian tindakan kelas ini untuk meningkatkan harga diri siswa da-lam menulis teks naratif dengan menggunakan metode collaborative learning. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X di SMA N Surakarta tahun 2014/2015. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dua siklus selama tiga bulan. Dengan menggunakan metode collaborative learning, masalah siswa yang berkaitan dengan harga diri mereka dalam pembelajaran menulis dapat diatasi. Sikap siswa selama kegiatan belajar mengajar berlangsung menunjukkan peningkatan. Peningkatan harga diri siswa dalam menulis terlihat pada setiap aspek harga diri (competence, self-worth, success and confidence). Jumlah siswa yang percaya dapat menulis teks bahasa Inggris dengan benar meningkat dari 15% menjadi 96,5%. Jumlah siswa yang merasa berharga dalam proses diskusi meningkat dari 67,89% menjadi 87,86%. Jumlah siswa yang percaya bisa sukses dalam menulis meningkat dari 60,66% menjadi 94,75%. Jumlah siswa yang percaya diri dapat menulis teks naratif bahasa Inggris meningkat dari 42% menjadi 89,5%. Di samping itu, peningkatan sikap siswa juga telah mempengaruhi kemampuan menulisnya.

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of certain teaching method in increasing the quality of the students' achievement of open SLTP viewed from the kind of tests. Besides, it is directed to get the most effective teaching method which can be applied as the positive alternative in increasing the quality of the SLTP student' achievement. The kind of research used is an experimental comparative research using two ways Anava. Here statistical formulas were three levels comparative from one variable namely teaching method with module; teaching method with video-cassette (electronic media); and teaching method with problem solving approach, and their influence to the tied variable based on other factor whether the test is objective or essay. The result of the research shows that teaching method with electronic media is the most appropriate to increase the quality of studying biology; the second was teaching by module completed with creative problems solving, and the last was teaching method with module. Besides, it revealed that subjective test model is better than objective test. There was no interaction between certain teaching methods with the kind of the test.

This research aims to develop computer software used to evaluate some test itemssuchascalculationanddeterminationforvalidity,reliability,differencepower,and difficulty indexes. This software is developed using C++ programming language. This computer software is called “evaluasi”. An algorithm is designed before making a thinking runs easily at the program making. This software consists of two menus that can bechosenforthekindoftestitems.Twomenusarefordataentryforstudent'stestscores, and four menus are for evaluating the kind of test items. The kinds of items consist of a multiple choice test and an essay test. There are two ways for inputting data, from the keyboard or from the data which were saved in file. This system prepares four types of evaluation that can be selected by user. They are validity, reliability, difference power, anddifficultyindexes;eachtypeofthemisformultiplechoiceitemandessayitem.

The problems of research include: (1) how is the concept of history dimension and mythological meaning of Pertapaan Pringgadani tourist object?; (2) to what extent has the society developed the history dimension and mythological meaning of tourist object?; (3) what are the obstacles in developing the history dimension and mythological meaning of tourist object?; and (4) what measures do the government do in the society- based tourism education development in Blumbang Tawangmangu? This study was conducted in Tawangmangu, Karanganyar regency. This study belonged to a descriptive qualitative research using a single-embedded case study. The data sources employed were: informant, place and event, as well as written source. The data were analyzed using an interactive analysis method. The result of research showed: (1) according the surrounding people, Pertapaan Pringgodani in Kaling Empire time was a place where a hermit defeated Prabu Boko; (2) in addition to physical development, the surrounding people always hold mondosio ritual up to now, as the expression of their gratitude; (3) the development of Pertapaan Pringgodani area has not been optimal. It is due to many obstacles such as heavy area, lack of supporting fund, and society’s low awareness; (4) in order to improve the society's awareness, the government conducts society empowerment and improvement of supporting infrastructures.

The main purpose of this research was to examine the effects of combinationcircuit-plyometric training method and body weight on agility. The method used in thisresearch was a field experiment using the 2x 2 (body weight x paining method) factorialdesigns. Eighty male students of Sport and Health Department of Teacher Training andEducation Faculty, Sebelas Maret University taken by purposive stratified randomsampling, were classified into four cells. The treatment was conducted three times a weekduring eight weeks. Body height and weight were measured with studio meter; agilitywith LSU Agility Obstacle Course, and the scores were recorded with photogate meter.Tests were administered prior to and after the eight week training program. The data wereanalyzed with two-way factorial ANOVA and Newman-Keuls test. The result of ANOVAand Newman-Keuls test from the combination circuit-plyometric skip jump hadsignificantly higher agility than combination circuit-plyometric squad jump trainingmethod. There was better average of increase on normal minus body weight than normalplus. There was significantly interaction into two-way between combination circuitplyometrictraining method and body weight. The group with normal minus body weightthat was trained by combination circuit-plyometric skip jump showed significantly betterresult than other groups.

The main problem of this research is to answer the following questions: are thereanyfactorsinfluencing:levelofeffectiveworkingmodelandviewsofgarbageman. The main objective of this research is to reveal the effective working model and the garbageman's view on work ethic. The number of research respondents is 200 garbagemen in Surakarta determined by using cluster random sampling. The research data were obtained by using questionnaire and then they were analyzed by using regression and linear analyses. The results of the research showed that: (1) There was no significantly positive direct effect towards the income standard on the level of effective working motivation and working satisfaction; (2) There was a significantly positive direct effect towards working model and garbageman's view on effective working motivation and effective contribution (1,93%); (3) There was a significantly positive effective effect towards working model and garbageman's view on the factors of working satisfaction level and effective contribution (2,47%); (4) There was a significantly positive effect towards working model and garbageman's view on the factors of living standard and effective contribution (6,17%); (5) There was no direct effect towards workingmodelandgarbageman'sviewonthefactorsofeffectiveworkingmotivationand working satisfaction through income standard factor. Therefore, there must be a revision ofmodeloncorrelationalvariablesassumedinthisresearch.
