Abstract

Abstract. E-comic learning media is one of the educational innovations in an effort to increase students' interest in reading. The study aims to produce valid e-comic learning media on the digestive system material for class XI SMA. The type of research is research and development (Research and Development) using the ADDIE development model. The study was conducted in August 2023-June 2024 at SMAN 12 Maros. The subjects of the study were 2 biology teachers of class XI and 31 students of class XII MIPA 2 SMAN 12 Maros. The research instruments were interview sheets and questionnaire sheets. Data analysis techniques in the study, namely qualitative and quantitative analysis. The validity of the product is assessed by the validator. The assessment criteria used consist of five aspects, namely aspects of content/content feasibility, presentation, problem-solving skills, language, and accessibility of media use. The results of the study showed that the assessment of the two validators was 88.33% which was in the very valid category so that the e-comic learning media on the digestive system material for class XI SMA was suitable for use in learning. Abstract

As an innovative learning method, PBLRQA was created to overcome the weaknesses of PBL by integrating Reading, Questioning, and Answering (RQA). The focus of the research is to assess the impact of PBLRQA on the critical thinking skills of class X students at SMAN 4 Luwu. With the Quasi Experimental Design, class X.3 students became the experimental group and class X.4 as the control group. The results showed a significant increase in the critical thinking skills scores of students in the experimental group (45.19) compared to the control group (39.89). The t test confirmed a significant effect (p = 0.001 < α = 0.05), indicating the success of PBLRQA in improving students' critical thinking skills. The implications of this research highlight the need to implement suitable learning models to increase student interest and participation in the learning process.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to describe the level of science process skills in the implementation of biology learning at SMA Negeri 2 Majene. This study uses an exploratory research design with a quantitative approach. The research sample consists of 2 classes with a total of 67 students. Data collection in this study used an observation sheet by observing the process of students' science skills in the implementation of biology learning in class and practicum. Data analysis was carried out using quantitative descriptive techniques. The results of the study showed that students' science process skills in the implementation of learning in the classroom got a percentage value of 77.9 with a good category and in the implementation of practicum students' science process skills got a percentage value of 85.2 with a good category. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that students' science process skills in the implementation of biology learning at SMA Negeri 2 Majene are in the good category with a percentage value of 81.6.Keywords:  learning, practicum, science process skills

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effect of super item learning model on biology learning outcomes of high school students. This type of research is a pseudo experiment with pretest-posttest control group design. The research population included all students of class XI SMAN 1 Gowa, the research sample consisted of class XI MIPA 4 as an experimental class with 36 students and class XI MIPA 5 as a control class with 36 students, selected using random sampling technique. The instrument used was multiple choice test. Data were analyzed using normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing with ANCOVA test. The results showed that the value of student learning outcomes in the experimental class experienced a significant increase with very good, good, and sufficient categories, but generally in the good category. This shows the effect of the super item learning model on the biology learning outcomes of high school students.Key words: learning outcomes, super items

Abstract

Modern lifestyle changes due to urbanization, increased consumption of fast food, and lack of physical activity have contributed to the rising prevalence of non-communicable diseases, particularly hypertension. An unbalanced diet characterized by high intake of salt, saturated fats, and sugar is a major risk factor that accelerates the onset of high blood pressure. This study aims to examine the effect of dietary patterns on the incidence of hypertension and explore its potential as a learning resource for human physiology in higher education. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design was employed, involving 43 patients at Tamalanrea Public Health Center, Makassar, Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured dietary questionnaire and blood pressure measurements with a digital sphygmomanometer. The Chi-Square test results indicated a significant relationship between dietary patterns and the incidence of hypertension (χ² = 10.520; p = 0.001). Respondents with unhealthy dietary patterns showed a higher proportion of hypertension compared to those with healthy eating habits. This is physiologically linked to sodium retention, increased blood volume, and the activation of hormonal systems that regulate blood pressure. These findings suggest that real-life contexts such as hypertension can be utilized as a contextual learning tool for understanding human physiology, strengthening scientific literacy, and fostering healthy lifestyle awareness among university students.

Abstract

Abstract. The study aims to determine the effect of the active strategy type Questions Student Have on critical thinking skills. The type of research consists of a quasi-experiment. The research design consists of a pretest-posttest control group design. The population of all students in grade X of SMA Negeri 22 Makassar consists of 5 classes with a total of 180 students. The sample selection was carried out randomly so that class X.2 (experimental) and class X.5 (control) were selected. Data analysis techniques consist of descriptive and inferential statistics. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis of the critical thinking test score of 49.61 are in the less category while the learning outcomes score of 79.31 are in the very high category. The results of the normality test of the sig. data value> 0.05, so that the data on students' critical thinking skills are normally distributed. The results of the homogeneity test of the sig value Based On Mean> 0.05 so that it is declared homogeneous. The results of the hypothesis test of the Sig value 0.001 <0.05, then Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted so that there is an effect of the Questions Student Have type strategy on critical thinking skills. The conclusion is that the active strategy type Questions Student Have can encourage students to be more active in participating in the learning process.Key words: Type of Questions Students have, critical thinking, quantitative research, descriptive analysis, inferential analysis.

Abstract

The phenomenon of postpartum baby blues is a mild mood disorder that is commonly experienced by mothers after childbirth, especially in mothers who undergo cesarean delivery. This condition occurs due to drastic hormonal changes, physical pain, a longer recovery process, as well as psychosocial factors such as low emotional support and feelings of loss of control during the labor process. This issue has not been widely integrated in the learning of reproductive biology in higher education, which tends to focus on physiological aspects. This study aims to review the scientific literature on the prevalence of post-caesarean baby blues and explore its potential as a learning issue in reproductive biology. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) using content analysis of 16 relevant and published scientific articles in the period 2015–2025. The results of the study showed that post-caesarean mothers had a higher risk of experiencing baby blues compared to normal childbirth. In addition, the integration of this issue in reproductive biology learning has strategic value in fostering empathy, science literacy, and mental health awareness of students. This study recommends the application of project-based learning models and case studies as an effective approach to raise the issue of baby blues in the curriculum in higher education. Keywords: reproductive biology, baby blues, mental health, caesarean, higher education

Abstract

Abstract. The research on the analysis of the implementation of biology practicums in high school in the independent curriculum at SMAN 9 Makassar aims to determine the implementation of biology practicums in high school in the independent curriculum in the odd semester at SMAN 9 Makassar. This study uses a descriptive approach with an exploratory research design. Data were collected by filling out checklists, interviews and documentation to gain an in-depth understanding of the implementation of practicums. The results of the study showed that the percentage of implementation of biology practicums in grade XI at SMAN 9 Makassar referring to Learning Outcomes (CP) in the independent curriculum was 57.1%, which was/is included in the fairly good category. Factors that caused the practicum not to be implemented were the availability of tools and difficulty in obtaining materials, implementation time, availability of space for practicums, the absence of assistants or laboratory assistants to help teachers guide practicums.Key words:  Learning Outcomes, Implementation, Independent Curriculum, Implementation Time

Abstract

Abstract. To achieve all domains of knowledge simultaneously and effectively, practical work in learning can be implemented. Practical activities offer several benefits, including training to apply theory to real-world problems (cognitive), fostering independent planning of activities (affective), and practicing the use of specific instruments (psychomotor). This study aims to examine the impact of practical implementation on high school students' learning outcomes in Sulawesi. The research employs a meta-analysis method. The research began by accessing the Google Schoolar page and entering the keywords, namely “Pengaruh Metode Praktikum Terhadap Hasil Belajar di Sulawesi”. After implenting some criterias as filter, there were five articles from Indonesian journals as research subjects. The result showed that practical methods have influence on students' learning outcomes across different class levels, research locations, and study periods Based on the conducted meta-analysis, it can be concluded that practical methods positively influence high school students' learning outcomes in Sulawesi. Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to analyze the effect of health education on salted fish consumption in improving knowledge among patients with hypertension. The research used a pre-test and post-test design with 40 respondents selected through accidental sampling at Barombong Public Health Center, Makassar. Data analysis using the McNemar test showed a p-value of 0.000 (< α = 0.05), indicating a significant increase in knowledge after the educational intervention. A total of 21 respondents improved from poor to good knowledge. These findings suggest that nutrition education related to salted fish consumption can serve as an effective contextual learning resource for hypertension prevention. This locally relevant educational approach supports nurses’ roles in health promotion and can be developed into practical learning materials or media in community-based nursing care. Thus, the study reinforces the importance of contextual nutrition education in promotive and preventive health interventions.Keywords: health education, hypertension, salted fish, knowledge
