Abstract

Black stem potato (Solanum tuberosum L. var. cingkariang/cingkariang potato) are a specific germplasm of West Sumatra with low productivity. One method of propagating this plant is through tissue culture techniques. The addition of Plant Growth Regulator (PGR) determines the results of plant propagation through tissue culture technique. Cytokinins such as 6-Benzylaminopurine (BAP) play a role in cell division and accelerate shoot formation. This study expects to decide the impact of a few convergences of BAP on the shoot enlistment of cingkariang potato. The examination utilized a totally randomized plan (CRD) with four treatments (0, 1, 2, and 3 mg/L BAP) and six replications. The result showed that BAP was able to induce Cingkariang potato shoots in all concentration. BAP 2 mg/L gave the fastest shoot and root emergence time and also gave the highest number of shoots and roots of Cingkariang potato. BAP 2 mg/L was the best concentration for shoot induction of black stem potato (Solanum tuberosum L. var. Cingkariang).

Abstract

Hypogonadism is a clinical syndrome condition caused by disturbances in secretion at the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal level. In fact, regarding the results of examinations and decisions about hypogonadism treatment are still difficult to make. So, analysis of the diagnosis and management of hypogonadism in men and women needs to be studied. This research analyzes studies using the Google Scholar, Pubmed and Proquest databases. After searching, 995 articles were found. There were 14 articles containing the diagnosis and management of hypogonadism. Based on the search results, examining hormone levels is the gold standard for diagnosing hypogonadism in men and women. Treatment for primary and secondary hypogonadism for men and women can include sex steroid replacement, gonadotropin or GnRH replacement if the patient wants to increase fertility, surgical therapy and radiation therapy.

Abstract

The Solanaceae family has 1,300 genera distributed in the sub-tropics and tropics. In Indonesia, the genus of the Solanaceae family is used as a source of food and medicine. Solanaceae as plants used for food, medicine and health care, require a precise and accurate identification process. Automatic plant identification can use visual morphological characteristics. Environmental conditions such as extreme temperatures, drought, and water stress cause plants to adapt. The adaptation process can induce morphological changes, this study aims to study the morphological characters of solanaceae in the karst area, the hills of the menorah samigaluh Yogyakarta. The data collection method uses Visual Encounter Census (VES) by purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results obtained three genera, and 7 species (Solanum melongena, Solanum torvum, Solanum lycopersicum, Solanum diphyllum, Capsicum annuum, Capsicum frutescens, and Physalis angulata). There are 23 morphological characters used as a reference in identifying species of Solanaceae members.

Abstract

Gili Meno is a small island located to the north of Lombok Island which is included in a conservation area with high potential as a tourist destination. As a tourist destination, there has been a conversion of green land into hotels and other tourist facilities which has led to changes in land use patterns. In order to reduce the increase in earth's surface temperature due to green house gas (GHG) emissions, especially CO2, CO2 mitigation efforts are needed by squesting carbon into the soil. Research on soil carbon stocks on Gili Meno has been carried out using descriptive methods with survey techniques, namely by taking soil samples in several types of land cover at two depths, namely 0-10 cm and 10-20 cm. The soil samples taken were used for analysis of C-Organic and some physical characteristics of the soil. Based on the data obtained, mangrove land cover has the largest potential carbon reserves, namely 89.36 tons.ha-1, then followed by shrub land cover, then coconut plantations, and finally open land and settlements with values respectively 57.50 ton.ha-1, 44.11 ton.ha-1, and 36.15 ton.ha-1. The high soil carbon reserves in the mangrove ecosystem compared to other land covers reflect that the carbon storage potential of mangrove land covers is better compared to other land cover types. Thus, for long-term land management, the sustainability of mengrove plants must be maintained.

Abstract

Stomata are openings in the epidermis that are lined by two special epidermal cells known as guard cells. In sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) leaves, stomata are found on both the upper (adaxial) and lower (abaxial) surfaces, making them amphistomatous. Stomata are classified into several types, including anomocytic, anisocytic, and parasitic. Studies on the structure of stomata in plants of the genus Saccharum are still limited. This study aims to provide scientific information about the types of stomata in Saccharum plants. This study was carried out from October to November 2023 at the biology laboratory. Qualitative descriptive method with the type of stomata considered under the microscope. Data collection techniques using observation. The results of this investigation show that the genus Saccharum has Graminae type stomata, guard cells shaped like a halter. Stomata size in sugarcane species is generally larger than in barnyard grass species.
