Abstract

This study aims to explore the extent to which picture books can influence students' reading literacy skills at the elementary school level, as well as to examine the role of family support in increasing children's interest in reading. Reading literacy is a core skill that determines student learning success. However, many students still experience difficulties in understanding the content of what they read, identifying main ideas, and summarizing information. Picture books have proven to be an effective tool because they combine text with attractive illustrations, thereby stimulating interest, sharpening understanding, and enriching students' vocabulary. This study adopted a triangulation method through observation, interviews, and documentation. Observations were conducted to see students' interactions with picture books, interviews with teachers and parents were used to determine the development of reading interest, while documentation complemented the data. The findings showed that picture storybooks had a significant effect on improving reading literacy. Students became more enthusiastic, more focused, and found it easier to understand the storyline with the help of illustrations. Reading motivation also increased both at school and at home. Parents reported that their children began to ask for more time to read together. Overall, picture storybooks were proven to improve reading skills, enrich vocabulary, and encourage reading habits.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the principal's organizational communication style, the factors that influence it, and its role in improving teacher performance and the quality of learning at MAS Al-Washliyah Tanjung Beringin, Serdang Bedagai Regency. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The research participants consisted of one principal and two teachers. Data analysis was carried out using the Miles and Huberman interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, while the validity of the data was guaranteed through triangulation of sources, techniques, and time. The results showed that the principal applied various communication styles, including direct communication (face-to-face), written communication based on digital media, persuasive communication, two-way communication, and empathetic communication. This communication style reflects participatory leadership that encourages teacher involvement in decision-making. Factors influencing the implementation of communication styles include leadership experience, interpersonal competence, school organizational culture, teacher characteristics, communication media, and institutional policies. This study concludes that the principal's organizational communication style plays a strategic role in increasing teacher motivation and work effectiveness, as well as creating a conducive and innovative learning climate

Abstract

The digital media industry demands adaptive, creative, and relevant news writing and copywriting skills that meet the needs of the audience. The development of technology and changes in information consumption patterns have encouraged journalists and copywriters to master storytelling, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and distribution strategies so that their content can compete in the rapid flow of information. This paper discusses the production process of news writing and copywriting skills based on internship experiences at PT Pojok Satu Indonesia. This paper was written using a qualitative approach with primary data in the form of observations, interviews, and documentations during the internship, as well as secondary data from books, journals, and other relevant sources. The result of the discussion show that writing effectiveness is influenced by an understanding of digital writing techniques, consistency in language style, and the demands of rapid content production. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening professional skills in the digital media industry.

Abstract

This quantitative research, empIoying an experimentaI method with a pre-test and post test controI group design, aims to describe: 1) impIementation UNO card media including teaching students to anaIyze descriptive texts, and 2) the students abiIity to anaIyze descriptive texts before and after using UNO cards for grade VII students at SMP Negeri 37 Surabaya. The popuIation for this study consisted of aIi grade VII students at SMP Negeri 37 Surabaya during the 2024/2025 academic year. The sampIe, comprising cIass A as the experimentaI group and cIass D as the controI group was seIected using the random sampIing technique. Data were coIIected through observation and test (pre-test and post test). Observation resuIts indicated that the impIementation of the UNO card media proceeded very weII and smoothIy. This is substantiated by student activity observation scores teaching 96% and teacher activity scores teaching 95%. Futhermore, the resuIts of data anaIysis using the non parametrik Mann Whitney U showed a significant difference in the post-test score between the experimentaI cIass and the controI cIass. The mean post-test score experimentaI cIass reached 90.00, which was higher compared to the controI cIass. The significance vaIue (asymp. Sig 2-taiIed) for the experimentaI cIass was 0.00 (P<0.05). Therefore, it is concIuded that the use UNo card media significantIy improve the abiIity of grade VII Student at SMP Negeri 37 Surabaya to anaIyze descriptive texts.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze kinematic angles in sprint movements using the Kinovea application based on the principles of sports biomechanics. The variables studied include the angles of the hip, knee in the initial phase of the swing, knee at ground contact, ankle at ground contact, ankle at release, and elbow angles. The analysis was carried out by observing video recordings of sprints frame-by-frame, then the measurement results were compared with the theoretical basis of various studies on sprint biomechanics.The analysis findings showed that all analyzed angles were within the ideal range for elite runners accordingto the literature, which proves that the subject's sprint technique is in accordance with biomechanical norms for fast movements. These results indicate that the Kinovea application has proven effective as a means of kinematic analysis in the process of learning and assessing sprint technique.

Abstract

The teaching of religious and moral values is closelyrelated to a child's character, polite behavior, and willingness topractice religious teachings in daily life. The evaluation of the wheel model in outing class activities has the potential to significantly improve learning outcomes, especially in integrating the aspects of teaching religious and moral values. This study aims to examine in depth the use of the wheel model evaluation in outing class activitiesto improve children's religious and moral learning outcomes. The research methodused is a literature study. The results of the study indicate that the use of the wheel model evaluation in outing class activities provides a strong and flexible framework that significantly improves learning outcomes. Its success is highly dependent oncareful implementation, adequate planning, and the integration of assessment methodsthat are in line with the objectives of the activities outside the classroom.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of the bullying complaint box on reducing bullying cases at SD Negeri 193 Pekanbaru. The issue addressed is the ongoing physical and verbal bullying and the low reporting rate due to fear and the absence of safe reporting channels. Using a quantitative ex post facto design, data were collected from 192 students determined through Slovin’s formula. Two validated questionnaires Complaint Box Usage and Bullying Cases were used as instruments. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics, normality and linearity tests, and simple linear regression. Results show that students’ use of the complaint box is categorized as good, indicating that they understand its role as a safe reporting medium. The normality and linearity tests confirmed that the data met analytical assumptions. Regression results showed a significance value below 0.05, meaning the complaint box significantly affects bullying cases. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.044) indicates that the complaint box contributes 4.4% to reducing bullying, while 95.6% is influenced by other factors. Overall, the findings show that the complaint box is an effective tool in helping reduce bullying at school.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out how the implementation of Wordwall-based learning media can improve scientific literacy and student interest in learning science at SDN GUNGGUNG 1. This study uses a qualitative research method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research was conducted at SDN Gunggung I. Interviews were conducted on October 5, 2025, and observations were carried out on December 7, 2025. The research subjects were third-grade students of SDN Gunggung I, while the third-grade teacher acted as an informant to support data collection during observations and interviews. The results of this study indicate that the use or implementation of Wordwall learning media in third-grade science lessons at SDN Gunggung I can improve students' scientific literacy and interest in learning.

Abstract

Peneliti ini mengkaji gaya bahasa Generasi Z (Gen Z) dalam kolom komentar influencer Mamari di TikTok dari perspektif pragmatik. Bahasa yang digunakan Gen Z di media sosial biasanya singkat, ekspresif, dan kontekstual, dan mereka sering menyimpang dari konvensi untuk menyampaikan pesan yang efektif. Data penelitian berasal dari komentar netizen yang memberikan kritik atau ekspresi emosional pada akun TikTok Mamari, seperti "sama-sama jalur duka, sama-sama magrib kok musuhan," "Saingannya anak halal semua," dan "harus jadi artis dlu baru megang Kamari." Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa gaya bahasa Gen Z berfungsi sebagai strategi komunikasi retoris yang kompleks, dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan analisis wacana pragmatik. Sindiran tajam, ironi, dan pertanyaan retoris yang memanfaatkan konteks sosial dan viral mendominasi makna tersirat dalam tulisan mereka. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa komentar-komentar ini bukan sekadar ucapan spontan; mereka adalah tindak tutur yang dimaksudkan untuk menyampaikan kritik sosial, mengungkapkan kekecewaan, dan membangun kolaborasi di antara komunitas digital. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pendekatan pragmatik harus digunakan untuk "membongkar" arti tersembunyi yang membentuk ekosistem linguistik baru di media sosial untuk memahami bahasa Gen Z di dunia digital.

Abstract

This study examines the application of project-based learning through traditional kite-making activities to foster creativity in fourth-grade students in Arts and Culture (SBdP) at SD 6 Kandangmas. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to understand the learning process and the development of students' creativity. The results showed that the integration of kite-making into the project-based learning model provided meaningful opportunities for students to explore ideas, demonstrate originality, refine designs, and solve problems creatively. Students also demonstrated high levels of engagement and collaboration, along with improved communication skills, responsibility, and independence during the project implementation. This activity provided a contextual and culturally aligned learning experience, thus strengthening students' appreciation of local traditions while developing their creative competencies. This study concluded that traditional games can be an effective and enjoyable learning medium in Arts and Culture (SBdP), especially in elementary schools without dedicated art teachers. Further research is recommended to examine the impact of this model on other competencies and in more diverse school contexts.
