Abstract

This study aims to examine the management of the madrasah principal in improving teachers’ understanding of the use of modern technology at MTs Nurul Ikhwan Tanjung Morawa, identify the obstacles encountered, and describe the efforts undertaken by the principal to overcome these challenges. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with the principal and teachers of MTs Nurul Ikhwan Tanjung Morawa as the research subjects. The findings indicate that the principal has implemented management functions consisting of planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising in enhancing teachers’ understanding of modern technology utilization. The obstacles faced include differences in teachers’ levels of digital literacy, limited facilities and infrastructure, and teachers’ limited time to participate in training programs. The efforts made by the principal include conducting training and professional development for teachers, academic supervision, mentoring in the use of technology for teaching and learning, and providing supporting facilities. This study concludes that effective madrasah principal management plays a significant role in improving teachers’ understanding of modern technology and contributes to the enhancement of learning quality in the madrasah.

Abstract

Environmental problems in elementary schools are often caused by low student awareness of environmental cleanliness. One effort made to overcome this problem is through the implementation of the LISA (See Trash, Pick It Up) Program. This study aims to describe the implementation of the LISA Program in increasing students' environmental awareness at SDN 007 Long Mesangat. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the research subjects being students and teachers at SDN 007 Long Mesangat. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the LISA Program is able to increase students' environmental awareness, as demonstrated by changes in student behavior in maintaining school cleanliness, such as disposing of trash in its proper place and picking up trash found in the school environment without being instructed by teachers. The LISA Program also contributes to the formation of a sustainable environmentally conscious character

Abstract

This study aims to systematically explore the fundamental challenges and effective strategies implemented by elementary school teachers in achieving an optimal balance between their primary teaching duties in the classroom and their responsibilities in fostering extracurricular activities. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study method to analyze the teachers' lived experiences. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and document analysis related to time management and curriculum. The results revealed several key challenges, such as tight time management, high administrative burden, physical and mental exhaustion, and limited resources. Schedule conflicts between core lessons and extracurricular activities often posed a significant obstacle. To address these challenges, teachers implemented several effective strategies. These strategies included: (1) careful planning and scheduling; (2) delegation of tasks and collaboration with fellow teachers or parents; (3) utilization of technology to improve administrative efficiency; and (4) development of stress management skills. In conclusion, although balancing teaching duties and fostering extracurricular activities is a complex challenge, teachers can manage it effectively with well-planned strategies and support from the school. This study recommends more flexible school policies and adequate resource allocation to support teachers' dual roles

Abstract

This study examines the efforts to achieve balance between formal academic grades and the Al-Qur’an memorization target (tahfidz) among 6th-grade students at UPTD SDN 4 Maddukkelleng, who are in a dynamic cognitive development phase and face significant dual curriculum demands. The main challenges identified are the high cognitive load and psychological pressure (stress and achievement anxiety) stemming from both internal and external expectations. The students' success in balancing these two demands heavily relies on mastering time management (such as Time Blocking and Minimal Spacing strategies), adaptive learning strategies (Active Recall and Chunking), as well as self-discipline and mental resilience (grit). Furthermore, the central role of social support particularly from tahfidz teachers, assisting teachers, and parents is proven to be essential in fostering students' intrinsic motivation and self-efficacy, ensuring that the tahfidz process is based on awareness and love rather than coercion. This integrated approach ultimately aims to produce individuals who are not only academically and memorizationally successful, but also responsible, focused, and morally upright.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the brainstorming model in improving students’ critical thinking skills on the topic “Human Life in the Prehistoric Era” in grade X at SMA Plus Al Qomariyah. The background of this research is based on the low level of students’ critical thinking skills, which is caused by the dominance of conventional teaching methods that lack encouragement for analytical, evaluative, and reflective activities. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted in two cycles consisting of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 35 students who were divided into heterogeneous groups to carry out brainstorming activities, namely proposing ideas freely, selecting, and evaluating ideas based on logic. Data were collected through a critical thinking test measuring the indicators of interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference, as well as student and teacher activity observation sheets. The results show a significant improvement from the pre-cycle, with an average score of 62.5 and a mastery level of 30%, to 73.5 and 65% in cycle I, and finally to 83.6 and 88% in cycle II, exceeding the minimum mastery criteria (KKM). These findings prove that the implementation of brainstorming can address students’ weaknesses in drawing conclusions and evaluating information logically. Thus, the brainstorming model is proven to be effective in improving critical thinking skills in learning, and it is recommended to be applied consistently with an emphasis on idea evaluation so that students’ critical thinking skills can develop optimally

Abstract

This is to deeply identify the fundamental factors that cause the lack of concentration, as well as formulate alternative learning methods that are more effective and interactive.The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques involve participatory observation, structured interviews with teachers and students, and documentation studies.The research results identify that the dominant factors causing low concentration include: lack of variation in teaching strategies, minimal use of attractive, interactive learning media, and high frequency of lecture method application.As a practical implication, this research recommends a transition from the lecture method to a more student-centered learning approach, such as group discussions or the integration of visual media, to optimize student engagement and concentration in the Akida learning process.

Abstract

The development of social media has influenced various aspects of life, including the social interactions of elementary school children. At Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah 11 Bara-Baraya, students actively use social media, but its impact on their social behavior is not yet clear. The urgency of this research lies in the importance of understanding the role of social media as a communication tool and its effect on the development of students' social skills, which can serve as a basis for strategies in character building and digital literacy in schools. This study aims to analyze the influence of social media use on students' social behavior. The research employs a quantitative ex post facto approach with a population of all madrasah students and a purposive sample of 30 students. The instrument consists of a questionnaire with a 1–4 Likert scale, followed by non-participant observation to obtain supporting data. Data analysis was conducted through validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests (normality, heteroscedasticity, multicollinearity), as well as simple linear regression analysis to examine the effect of social media use on students' social behavior. The results of the study indicate that both partially and simultaneously, social media use does not have a significant effect on students' social behavior. Social behavior is more influenced by contextual and environmental factors, such as face-to-face interactions with peers, teacher guidance, learning experiences, as well as family and school culture influences. These findings confirm that social media serves as a means of supporting interaction, but is not a primary factor in shaping students' social behavior.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the management of principal supervision in improving teachers' pedagogical competence at SDN Bojongpicung 2, Cianjur Regency and SDN Cibabat Mandiri 2, Cimahi City. This qualitative descriptive research involved 20 teachers, two principals, and 152 students from grades IV-VI as research subjects. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that supervision management includes four stages: planning, organizing, implementation, and evaluation. Planning involves needs analysis and program preparation. Organizing includes determining supervision approaches and scheduling. Implementation is carried out through clinical supervision, classroom observation, and reflective discussion using collaborative, directive, and non-directive approaches. Evaluation is conducted periodically to measure supervision effectiveness. The implementation of supervision management shows significant improvement in teachers' pedagogical competence with an average N-Gain of 0,68 in the medium to high category. The success of supervision is supported by transformational leadership, collaborative culture, and constructive feedback.

Abstract

This study analyzes the role of ecological awareness and social norms in fostering social solidarity as a manifestation of civic responsibility in students at MA Miftahun Najah. Based on the theories of civic education and social learning, this qualitative case study employed in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. The results indicate that the school's environmental program enhances collective awareness, while the internalization of social norms encourages cooperative action, forming social solidarity that becomes a practice of civic responsibility.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman matematika pada siswa kelas IV SDN Pahlawan melalui pengembangan buku cerita bergambar bermuatan materi luas bangun datar. Menggunakan metode Educational Design Research (EDR), buku berjudul "Safari Bangun Datar: Pameran Nusantara" dirancang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika. Proses pengembangan meliputi analisis dan eksplorasi, desain dan konstruksi, serta evaluasi dan refleksi, dan divalidasi oleh ahli materi, ilustrasi, media, dan bahasa dengan hasil validasi "Sangat Layak" antara 92% hingga 99%. Uji respon menunjukkan penerimaan yang tinggi, dengan penilaian “Sangat Layak” mencapai 93% pada siklus I dan 97% pada siklus II, serta penilaian 100% dari guru. Temuan ini menegaskan efektivitas buku dalam meningkatkan minat baca dan pemahaman konsep matematika di kalangan siswa. Kata Kunci: Buku Cerita Bergambar. Buku Bacaan Matematika Anak, Matematika
