Abstract

Embryogenesis in angiosperms is a critical phase that determines the success of seed development and subsequent plant viability. The analysis shows that embryogenesis proceeds through coordinated stages that include zygote formation, tissue differentiation at the dermatogen and globular stages, and the formation of the shoot apical meristem (SAM), root apical meristem (RAM), and cotyledons at the heart stage. The seed coat, derived from maternal tissue, also undergoes functional differentiation, including the formation of secondary cell walls and the accumulation of protective metabolites such as flavonoids. A comprehensive analysis indicates that Arabidopsis embryogenesis is an integrative process controlled by genetic regulation, interactions between seed compartments, and interdependent metabolic and structural controls. These findings confirm that successful embryo development depends not only on morphogenesis but also on the coordination between the embryo, endosperm, and testa in forming a vigorous and adaptive seed.

Abstract

Spiritual development in children is crucial for building their character and faith. However, not all children receive adequate parental support in learning and applying religious principles, particularly in reading the Quran. This inadequate support may be due to parents' busy schedules, lack of knowledge, or lack of attention to their children's religious education. Children who lack guidance will struggle to understand and implement Islamic teachings. This study aims to foster religious values in children who receive little parental attention. The method chosen was a qualitative case study approach, and data were collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that Quranic study activities in Jentera Village have brought positive changes, particularly for a child named AZ. They demonstrated improvements in Quranic reading, consistency in worship, and Islamic behavior. Children who previously could not read have now begun to memorize short chapters and pray regularly. Quranic study activities have proven successful in strengthening religious values and building a religious atmosphere through community involvement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the Independent Curriculum and teacher creativity on the competence of elementary school teachers in Sewon District. The research method used was quantitative with a descriptive-correlative approach. The population consisted of 220 public elementary school teachers, with a sample of 142 respondents selected using proportional random sampling. Data collection employed questionnaires on Independent Curriculum implementation, teacher creativity, and teacher competence. Instrument validity was tested using Pearson’s product-moment correlation, while reliability was tested using Cronbach’s Alpha. Data analysis applied multiple linear regression. The results revealed that: (1) the Independent Curriculum significantly influenced teacher competence (t = 11.030; sig. 0.000 < 0.05); (2) teacher creativity significantly influenced teacher competence (t = 4.460; sig. 0.000 < 0.05); and (3) both the Independent Curriculum and teacher creativity simultaneously had a significant positive effect on teacher competence (F = 306.568; sig. 0.000 < 0.05), contributing 81.5%. These findings indicate that enhancing teacher competence requires consistent implementation of the Independent Curriculum along with continuous development of teacher creativity in teaching practices.

Abstract

Global educational developments have encouraged the adoption of deep learning, which emphasizes deep understanding, critical thinking, and meaningful learning experiences. In the context of Islamic primary education, the implementation of deep learning presents unique characteristics as it must be integrated with Islamic values. This study aims to explore teachers’ understanding, opportunities, challenges, and strategies in implementing a deep learning-based curriculum at MI Riyadlus Sholihin. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The participants consisted of classroom teachers, subject teachers, and the principal, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, and analyzed thematically. The findings indicate that teachers’ understanding of deep learning varies considerably. Opportunities for implementation are supported by the alignment with madrasah values, close teacher–student relationships, and a collaborative school culture. However, teachers face challenges related to limited pedagogical understanding, time constraints, and administrative workload. Teachers adopt adaptive strategies by contextualizing learning with students’ daily lives and Islamic values, supported by the instructional leadership of the principal.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is a fundamental skill that elementary school students must master to support their success in various subjects. However, many students still experience difficulties in comprehending reading material, particularly children's stories. This study aims to analyze the factors contributing to low reading comprehension in fifth-grade students and identify common errors. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach through observations, reading comprehension tests, and interviews with class teachers. The results indicate that low reading comprehension is influenced by low interest in reading, a lack of reading habits at home, the use of teacher-centered learning methods, and a lack of variety in reading media. Furthermore, students often make errors in identifying the main idea, summarizing the content of the text, and identifying characters and plot. These findings provide recommendations for improving reading comprehension through more interactive learning, the use of engaging children's stories, and the continuous development of reading habits.

Abstract

The 15-Minute Reading Literacy Program through School Stories for the East is one of the elementary school's efforts to foster a reading culture while improving students' learning discipline. This study aims to analyze the program's implementation and its impact on elementary school students' learning discipline. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques included observations of the implementation of the 15-minute reading literacy activities in class and interviews with class teachers and literacy assistant teachers. The data obtained were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the 15-minute reading literacy program through School Stories for the East was implemented routinely before learning activities began and was able to shape positive student habits, such as punctuality, learning focus, and compliance with class rules. In addition, teachers played an important role in guiding, motivating, and supervising students during the activity. This program made a positive contribution to improving elementary school students' learning discipline, although several obstacles were still encountered, such as differences in reading interests and limited variety of reading materials. Thus, the 15-minute reading literacy program through School Stories for the East can be used as an effective strategy to improve student learning discipline in elementary schools.

Abstract

Positive habituation is an effective character education strategy for fostering discipline among elementary school students. This study aims to analyze the implementation of positive habituation at SDN Kebalen 01 as an effort to strengthen students’ discipline in terms of uniform neatness and personal hygiene. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, with classroom teachers serving as key informants and students as the subjects of observation. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, and data validity was ensured through technique and source triangulation. The findings indicate that positive habituation was implemented in a planned and continuous manner through daily routines such as uniform neatness checks, personal hygiene inspections, classroom duties, and shared morning meals. These practices had a positive impact on improving students’ discipline, responsibility, and independence, although the internalization of discipline was not yet evenly developed among all students. Supporting factors included teachers’ consistency and a conducive school culture, while inhibiting factors involved differences in family backgrounds and limited individual guidance. This study concludes that positive habituation is an effective strategy for strengthening discipline among elementary school students when implemented consistently and supported by collaboration between schools and families.
