Abstract

Advances in information technology have encouraged schools to increasingly maximize the role of public relations management in building a positive image through the use of digital media. This study aims to examine the digital public relations strategies implemented by schools to strengthen their reputations, expand public communication, and increase information reach. Using a qualitative case study approach, this study explores digital public relations practices through interviews, observations, and documentation analysis at schools that actively manage social media and websites as their primary communication channels. The research findings indicate that consistent digital publications, engaging content presentation, and professional social media management can significantly increase school visibility. Furthermore, two-way interaction with the public through comments, private messages, and virtual activities has been shown to strengthen emotional bonds and increase public trust in schools. Digital public relations strategies also contribute to the formation of a positive image through neat visual displays, inspiring narratives, and the rapid and accurate delivery of information. This study confirms that the success of public relations management in the digital era is greatly influenced by the quality of content, the consistency of publications, and the school's ability to utilize communication technology. The research results provide theoretical contributions to the development of educational public relations studies and offer practical recommendations for schools to improve the quality of digital communication. Thus, digital public relations strategies are a crucial effort in building a sustainable positive school image amidst the increasingly rapid development of information technology.

Abstract

This study was conducted to gain an understanding of the nature of human beings from the perspective of Islamic education. The purpose of this study was to describe the concept of human beings in the Qur'an, the process of their creation, and its implications for Islamic education. This study used a literature review method by examining relevant books, scientific articles, and Qur'anic interpretations. The results of the study show that humans in the Qur'an are described through various terms, such as al-Basyar, al-Insan, al-Nas, and bani Adam. In addition, the process of human creation is explained through systematic stages that demonstrate the perfection of Allah SWT's creation. This study concludes that Islamic education must integrate the aspects of divinity, humanity, and leadership in order to shape humans with character, piety, and responsibility as servants and caliphs on earth.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ learning outcomes in the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subject on the topic of human body parts for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 114615 Tanjung Mangedar. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method using a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research subjects consisted of two classes: Class IV A as the experimental group with 24 students and Class IV B as the control group with 22 students. Data were collected through pretest and posttest in the form of essay questions. The data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing with an independent samples t-test. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class taught using the PjBL model was 84.17, which was higher than that of the control class taught using conventional learning, with an average score of 64.54. The results of the t-test indicated that the calculated t value was greater than the t table value, indicating that the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model has a significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes in the IPAS subject for fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 114615 Tanjung Mangedar.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the increasing complaints of mental fatigue among late adolescents to early adults, especially in urban areas that are full of academic, social, and digital pressures. This condition makes internal factors such as self-esteem and social factors such as approval motivation important to review. This study aims to understand the relationship between self-esteem and mental fatigue, as well as to determine whether approval motivation plays a role in influencing this relationship. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. There were 285 participants aged 17 to 28 years. The instruments used included a mental fatigue scale, a self-esteem scale, and an approval motivation scale. All data were obtained through an online survey and analyzed using regression and moderation analysis techniques. The results showed that self-esteem had a negative relationship with mental fatigue, meaning that individuals with higher self-esteem tended to experience lower mental fatigue. Meanwhile, approval motivation was not found to influence the relationship between self-esteem and mental fatigue. These findings confirm that self-assessment plays a greater role in determining the mental condition of late adolescents to early adults than the drive to obtain social approval. In conclusion, strengthening self-esteem is an important aspect in efforts to maintain mental well-being in this age group.

Abstract

This study was motivated by students' lack of understanding of mathematics, especially multiplication, which is one of the basics of number operations. In addition, during the learning process, educators tend to use expository learning models and occasionally use learning media, which causes students to become bored during the learning process. This study is an experimental study with a quasi-experimental research design, using a pretest-posttest control group design. In this design, there are two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group, which are then given a pretest to determine the initial conditions and whether there are differences between the experimental class and the control class. Then, at the end of the learning process, both classes were given a posttest to determine the students' understanding of mathematical concepts. The instrument used in this study was an essay-type test. Data collection techniques used observation, testing, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used normality tests, homogeneity tests, N-Gain tests, and hypothesis testing using SPSS. The results of this study indicate that, first, the application of the Numbered Head Together Cooperative Model assisted by multiplication boards in mathematics learning had a significant effect on students' conceptual understanding, with a posttest average score of 12.57. Second, learning using the expository learning model yielded a posttest average score of 11.42. Third, in the t-test results, the sig value (2-tailed) was 0.000, so the sig value < 0.05 and a t-count value of 4.979 > t-table 0.686. Therefore, based on the decision-making basis in the t-test, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that there is an increase in students' understanding of mathematical concepts with the application of the Numbered Head Together Learning Model assisted by a multiplication board.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the improvement of students’ science process skills (SPS) through the Science, Technology, and Society (STS) learning model using inferential statistical analysis. A one-group pretest–posttest design with three repeated measurements—pre-intervention, post-cycle I, and post-cycle II—was employed. The subjects were 25 fourth-grade students at SD Islam As-Shofa, Pekanbaru. SPS data were collected via performance observation using a validated scoring rubric (Cronbach’s α = 0.83), covering six indicators: observing, communicating, classifying, measuring, predicting, and concluding. Data were analyzed using the Friedman test and Wilcoxon signed-rank test with Bonferroni correction (α = 0.017). Results indicated a significant increase in mean SPS scores: pre-intervention (M = 45.66%), cycle I (M = 67.16%), and cycle II (M = 85.08%). The Friedman test yielded χ²(2) = 48.72, p < 0.001. Pairwise comparisons revealed significant improvements between: (1) pre-intervention vs. cycle I (Z = –4.211, p < 0.001, r = 0.84), (2) pre-intervention vs. cycle II (Z = –4.523, p < 0.001, r = 0.91), and (3) cycle I vs. cycle II (Z = –4.198, p < 0.001, r = 0.84). Cohen’s d between pre-intervention and cycle II was 6.31 (very large effect). These findings statistically and practically confirm the effectiveness of the STS model in enhancing SPS. Implication: the STS model is recommended for experiment-based learning in elementary classrooms.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principal leadership, teacher competence, school culture, and work discipline on the performance of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers at Junior High Schools (SMP) in Temanggung Regency. The background of this research is based on the low achievement of teacher performance indicators, specifically in developing teaching modules and elaborating learning outcomes in the field, as well as the low education report card scores in the region. This research employs a quantitative approach with a hypothesis testing study design. The research population consists of all Junior High School PAI teachers in Temanggung Regency registered in the SIAGA account, with a sample size of 87 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and subsequently analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques assisted by SPSS software. The results indicate that, simultaneously, principal leadership, teacher competence, school culture, and work discipline have a significant influence on teacher performance, with an Adjusted R Square value of 84.6%. Partially, the hypothesis testing shows that: (1) Principal leadership has no significant influence on teacher performance (Sig. 0.913 > 0.05); (2) Teacher competence has a significant influence on teacher performance (Sig. 0.002 < 0.05); (3) School culture has a significant influence on teacher performance (Sig. 0.003 < 0.05); and (4) Work discipline has a significant influence on teacher performance (Sig. 0.025). These findings emphasize that internal teacher factors (competence and discipline) and the work environment (school culture) play a more dominant role in determining the performance of PAI teachers compared to the direct managerial role of the principal in this specific context.
