Abstract

Domestic violence (KDRT) in Indonesia is manifestation of gender injustice structures normalized by patriarchal norms. This study aims to analyze the strategic role of Citizenship Education (PKn) in deconstructing patriarchal norms and preventing domestic violence through a qualitative approach with a literature review method. The result of the study show that KDRT is not merely an indivudal problem, but a result of unequal power relations legitimized culturally and structurally. Meanwhile, conventional PKn with a state-centric paradigm is considered to fail in critiquing these inequalities and even further reinforces gender bias. Therefore, a recontruction of PKn towards a human-centric paradifm is needed, focusing on human rights, substantive gender equality, and social justice. Its impelemntation requires operational strategies at the micro, meso and macro levels. Even when facing challenges such as cultural bias and weak inter-agency coordination, opportunities for success remain open through transformative education approaches, the utilization of community social capital, and the convergence of constitutional value with positive law within a holistic and sustainable framework.

Abstract

The development of information technology in the digital era has led to increased social media use among elementary school students. Social media platforms such as TikTok and YouTube provide a variety of content that can influence student behavior and character development, including tolerance. This study aims to analyze the impact of social media use on the tolerance character of elementary school students. This research used a qualitative approach with a descriptive approach. The study was conducted at SDN 10/IV, Jambi City, with fourth-grade students as subjects, along with teachers and parents as supporting informants. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results indicate that social media use has both positive and negative impacts on students' tolerance character. Positive impacts are seen in increased creativity, courage in expressing opinions, and broadening students' horizons. However, negative impacts were also found, such as the use of impolite language, a tendency to ridicule peers, and a reduced appreciation for differences. Therefore, schools, teachers, and parents need to play an active role in guiding the wise use of social media and instilling values of tolerance through learning activities and practices within the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of bullying, the collaborative strategies between the principal and teachers, and the challenges in creating a bullying-free school environment at the elementary school level. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The subjects of the study consisted of the principal, a fifth-grade teacher, and two students involved in bullying cases (a victim and a perpetrator). Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, with data validity ensured through triangulation techniques. The results showed that bullying was predominantly in the form of verbal and social bullying, such as teasing, name-calling, excessive joking, and social exclusion, as well as minor physical actions in some cases. The collaborative strategies were carried out through preventive and curative approaches. Preventive efforts included character education, classroom agreements, socialization of the impacts of bullying, and regular evaluation between the principal and teachers. Curative efforts involved dialogical approaches, guidance for perpetrators, emotional support for victims, and mediation. The challenges faced included victims’ reluctance to report incidents, a culture of teasing considered as jokes, and limited time for teachers to provide assistance.

Abstract

Effective education is greatly influenced by the learning methods used. In elementary schools, conventional learning methods are often unable to optimally improve student learning outcomes, especially in Indonesian language subjects. Therefore, an innovative approach is needed to improve student understanding of the material being taught. One method considered effective is the Jigsaw learning model, which encourages active collaboration among students. This study aims to determine the effect of the Jigsaw learning model on Indonesian language learning outcomes for fifth-grade students at SD Swasta Masehi No. 3 Kabanjahe, focusing on poetry and pantun materials. This study uses a quantitative, experimental design. The research sample consisted of two groups: the experimental group, which received treatment using the Jigsaw learning model, and the control group, which used conventional learning. Data were collected through pretest and posttest measures, which were analyzed using the Paired-Samples t-Test. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant increase in learning outcomes. The average posttest score for the experimental group was 87.55, while the control group reached only 74.05. The results of the hypothesis test showed a t-value of 6.107 and a p-value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05; thus, the alternative hypothesis is accepted, and the null hypothesis is rejected. The application of the Jigsaw learning model significantly improves students' Indonesian language learning outcomes, especially in poetry and pantun materials. This learning model can be implemented as an innovative alternative to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study is grounded in the low learning achievements of fifth-grade students at SDS IT Luqman in Padang City in the subject of Pancasila Education, as evidenced by their minimal learning interest, passive participation, and challenges in mastering core concepts—a situation that also impedes the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills. The learning process has yet to fully embody the principles of deep learning, thereby positioning the implementation of a Game-Based Learning model assisted by the Baamboozle platform as a viable solution. The objective is to delineate the enhancement of Pancasila Education learning outcomes through this model. Employing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design with a mixed qualitative-quantitative approach, the implementation comprised two cycles (Cycle I: two meetings; Cycle II: one meeting), adhering to the phases of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Instruments included RPPM observation sheets, teacher-student activity sheets, and rubrics for assessing attitudes, knowledge, and skills, with 21 fifth-grade students as subjects. Findings highlight substantial improvements: RPPM scores rose from 84.3% to 96.8%; teacher activity from 82.1% to 96.4%; student activity from 76.75% to 92.85%; and average learning outcomes advanced from 70.5 to 78.3, culminating at 91.83 by the end of the cycle.

Abstract

This research is driven by the importance of internalizing Pancasila values as a moral foundation and national identy for elementary school student. The primary issue identifiend is the challenge in effectively instilling these values and the necessity for a concrete evaluation of how they are manifested in student behavior. This study aims to analyze the implementation level of Pancasila values within the environment of SDN 4 Simpen through a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey design. The research population consists of all 36 sixth-grade students at SDN 4 Simpen, with sampling conducted using a total sampling technique. Data were gathered through a questionnaire instrument developed based on empirical indicators such as religiosity, humanity, unity, democracy, and social justice, which were subsequently analyzed using descriptive statistics. The findings indicate that the implementation of Pancasila values at SDN 4 Simpen has been executed effectively. The majority of respondents fall into the moderate category, accounting for 80.56% (29 students), while the remaining 19.44% (7 students) have reached the high category. A crucial finding in this study is the absence of students in the low category (0%), proving that all research subjects possess adequate standards of moral understanding and behavior. The dominance of the moderate category suggests that while the foundation of character has been established, more innovative pedagogical strategies and habituation are required to accelerate the consistency of value implementation toward an optimal level.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in Grade III at SDN 1 Sribawono still shows unsatisfactory learning outcomes because the learning process is still teacher-centered, causing students to experience difficulties in understanding the material being taught. Therefore, this study aims to improve students’ mathematics learning outcomes on plane geometry material through the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model. This research employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, conducted in two cycles, each consisting of the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 20 third-grade students of SDN 1 Sribawono. The data collection techniques included observation, interviews, learning achievement tests, and documentation. The results of the study indicate an improvement in learning outcomes in each cycle. The data show that in the pre-test of Cycle I, 25% of students achieved mastery. This percentage increased to 45% in the post-test of Cycle I. In Cycle II, the post-test results showed a significant improvement, reaching 90%. This demonstrates an increase of 45% from Cycle I to Cycle II. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the CTL model is able to improve third-grade students’ mathematics learning outcomes on plane geometry material at SDN 1 Sribawono.
