Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of educational technology through the use of PowerPoint media and educational games in biology and mathematics learning to improve student activeness. The background of this research is based on the low level of student participation in learning processes that are still dominated by conventional teaching methods. This study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design involving students as research subjects. Data were collected using observation sheets and assessments of student activeness during the learning process. The results indicate that the use of interactive learning media in the form of PowerPoint combined with game-based evaluation significantly improves student activeness, as shown by increased participation, interaction, and student responses during learning activities. In addition, the integration of educational technology creates a more engaging and enjoyable learning environment, which enhances students’ learning motivation. Therefore, the integration of educational technology in biology and mathematics learning is considered an effective alternative strategy to improve student activeness in schools.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low vocabulary skills of 5–6-year-old children at Al-Hidayah Kindergarten in Jambi, as evidenced by the children’s limited ability to express ideas, answer questions, and convey information clearly. In fact, vocabulary mastery is a crucial foundation for children’s language development, influencing their communication skills, cognitive abilities, and academic readiness. One approach to improving children’s vocabulary skills is through the use of interactive and engaging learning media, such as fuzzy felt. This study aims to determine the effect of using fuzzy felt media on the vocabulary skills of 5–6-year-old children at Al-Hidayah Kindergarten in Jambi. This is a quantitative study using an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study subjects consisted of 12 children aged 5–6 years. Data collection was conducted through observation. The data were analyzed using a paired samples t-test. The results of the study indicate that there was an improvement in the children’s vocabulary skills after they were exposed to the fuzzy felt medium. This is evidenced by a mean difference of –11.583, indicating that the posttest scores were higher than the pretest scores. A significance value of 0.000 (Sig. < 0.05) indicates a significant difference between the pretest and posttest results. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of fuzzy felt media significantly influences the improvement in vocabulary skills of 5–6-year-old children at Al-Hidayah Kindergarten in Jambi.

Abstract

Item quality is an important factor in determining the validity and reliability of educational evaluation instruments. This study aims to examine three main pillars in item quality analysis, namely discriminating power, difficulty level, and distractor effectiveness, in the context of improving the quality of multiple-choice evaluation instruments in learning activities. This study uses a literature study method by collecting and synthesizing various scientific references related to the topic studied including books, national journals, and articles obtained through Google Scholar. The findings of the study revealed that discriminating power has a primary function as a tool to differentiate between students with high abilities and students with low abilities, with an ideal index value that should reach ≥ 0.40. The difficulty level describes the degree of ease or difficulty of a question item, with an ideal index in the medium range of 0.31–0.70. Meanwhile, distractor effectiveness refers to the ability of incorrect answer alternatives to influence students who have not yet mastered the material to choose it. A distractor is considered to function well and is declared effective if it is chosen by at least 5% of the total participants who take the test. These three components are interrelated and complementary in determining the overall quality of a test item. This research's contribution lies in providing a comprehensive theoretical framework for educators to analyze and improve the quality of evaluation instruments, ensuring that the tests used in the assessment process accurately, validly, and reliably measure student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Social media, particularly Instagram, is one of the most effective platforms for marketing activities as it enables businesses to reach consumers more quickly, widely, and interactively. The use of Instagram with appropriate digital marketing strategies—such as visual content, promotions, and interaction with followers—plays an important role in increasing consumers’ purchase intention.This study aims to analyze the effect of digital marketing strategies through Instagram on consumers’ purchase intention at Honey Pet Shop Rappang in Sidenreng Rappang Regency. The research method used is quantitative, with data collection techniques including online questionnaires distributed to consumers, observation of promotional activities on Instagram, and documentation studies. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software.The results show that digital marketing strategies through Instagram have a positive and significant effect on consumers’ purchase intention, with a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 and a t-value of 3.318.

Abstract

The low learning motivation of elementary school students in narrative text writing activities is an issue that needs serious attention from educators. One effort that can be made is to apply the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model, which connects lesson materials to students' real-life experiences. This study aims to examine how the application of the CTL model can enhance the learning motivation of fourth-grade students in narrative text writing. The method used is classroom action research (CAR) with two action cycles. The research subjects were 28 fourth-grade students from an elementary school. Data collection instruments included observation sheets, motivation questionnaires, and writing performance tests. The results showed that the consistent application of the CTL model successfully increased students' learning motivation from the low category in the pre-cycle stage to the high category at the end of Cycle II, with an improvement percentage of 71.4%. In addition, the quality of students' narrative writing also improved significantly. Therefore, the CTL learning model is worthy of being an effective alternative learning strategy to enhance motivation and narrative writing skills in elementary school.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a local wisdom-based quartet card learning media to improve students’ conceptual understanding in IPAS learning at the fourth-grade level of Islamic elementary school. The background of this study is the low conceptual understanding of students caused by conventional learning methods and the lack of innovative learning media. This research used a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model, consisting of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The subjects of this study were 14 fourth-grade students. The instruments used included validation sheets, observation sheets, and response questionnaires, as well as pretest and posttest. Data were analyzed using percentage techniques and N-Gain. The results showed that the developed media achieved a validity level of 92% (very valid) after revision, a practicality level of 100% (very practical), and an effectiveness level indicated by an N-Gain score of 0.58 (moderate category). In addition, student and teacher responses were very positive, reaching 100% and 91%, respectively. These findings indicate that the local wisdom-based quartet card media is valid, practical, and effective in improving students’ conceptual understanding. Therefore, this media can be used as an alternative learning tool to create more engaging and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh meningkatnya penggunaan gadget pada siswa sekolah dasar yang berpotensi menimbulkan perilaku multitasking saat belajar, sehingga dapat memengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara multitasking penggunaan gadget dalam aktivitas belajar mandiri di rumah dengan hasil belajar IPAS siswa kelas IV SD Inpres Tinggimae. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian korelasional. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV yang berjumlah ±60 siswa, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan total sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket untuk mengukur multitasking penggunaan gadget dan dokumentasi nilai untuk mengukur hasil belajar siswa. Uji validitas dilakukan menggunakan korelasi Pearson Product Moment dan reliabilitas menggunakan Cronbach Alpha. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistik deskriptif dan uji korelasi Pearson Product Moment. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara multitasking penggunaan gadget dalam aktivitas belajar mandiri di rumah dengan hasil belajar IPAS siswa. Semakin tinggi tingkat multitasking penggunaan gadget, maka cenderung semakin rendah hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan gadget yang tidak terkontrol dapat mengganggu konsentrasi dan efektivitas belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the relationship between students’ morals and cognitive learning outcomes. This research used a quantitative correlational method with questionnaires and tests. The sample consisted of 29 students. The results showed a significant positive correlation between morals and learning outcomes with r value calculated as 0.518. The value of the correlation coefficient is in the interval of 0.40 – 0.59. It means that the relationship between morals and cognitive learning outcomes is not to week. But it is not yet classfied as strong however, this relationship still shows an influence where morals are one of the factors that contribute to the achievement of students cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

The Field Experience Program (PPL) is a mandatory activity for education students to apply theoretical knowledge into real teaching practice at schools. The PPL program at SMAN 16 Merangin provided valuable experiences in understanding the educational environment, especially in teaching, school administration, and student interaction. During the implementation of the program, the student-teachers acted not only as classroom instructors but also participated in various school activities such as preparing lesson plans, extracurricular programs, and collaborating with supervising teachers and peers. This program offered opportunities to gain new insights into the responsibilities of an educator, improve pedagogical skills, and strengthen professional attitudes in teaching.

Abstract

The efficiency of logistics distribution systems plays a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of goods. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis of distribution costs and evaluate route effectiveness within the logistics distribution process. With the increasing complexity of supply chain networks, companies are challenged to optimize transportation routes while minimizing operational expenses. The research focuses on identifying key cost components, such as fuel consumption, vehicle maintenance, labor, and time-related costs, and correlates these with route planning strategies. A case study approach was utilized, incorporating real-world data from a distribution company operating in urban and semi-urban areas. Quantitative methods, including cost analysis, route mapping using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and vehicle routing problem (VRP) modeling, were employed to evaluate multiple distribution scenarios. The study also incorporates qualitative insights from logistics managers and drivers to understand on-ground constraints and decision-making processes. Findings reveal that route optimization, through the use of technology and data-driven planning, can significantly reduce total distribution costs—up to 25% in some cases—while improving delivery reliability and customer satisfaction. Inefficiencies in current routing practices, such as suboptimal path selection and poor load management, were identified as major contributors to cost overruns. Recommendations include the adoption of dynamic routing algorithms, integration of real-time traffic data, and strategic scheduling based on demand patterns. This study contributes to the body of knowledge in logistics and supply chain management by highlighting the interplay between cost control and routing efficiency, offering practical solutions for enhancing distribution system performance.
