Pendas : Jurnah Ilmiah Pendidikan Dasar is a journal published twice a year, namely in June and December that aims to be a forum for scientific publications to pour ideas and studies complemented with the results of research related to primary school education. To achieve this, basic education journals will selectively disseminate ideas and studies complemented by quality research results related to basic education, develop an education center to the elementary-school that can produce innovative, creative and original work and tested in the field of education and learning elementary School to be disseminated and implemented for improving the quality of primary-to-national education at the national, regional and international levels.

This study was motivated by the suboptimal problem-solving skills and independence of Group B children at TK Harapan Bangsa Banjarmasin. These issues were evident as many children struggled to understand simple problems, were unable to determine solutions independently, and frequently relied on teacher assistance when completing tasks. One strategy employed to address this situation was the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, supported by illustrated story puzzle media. The study aimed to describe teacher activities, child activities, and the development of the children's problem-solving skills and independence following the model's implementation. A Classroom Action Research (CAR) method was used, employing a qualitative approach supplemented by descriptive quantitative analysis, conducted over two cycles. The research subjects consisted of 12 children from the Group B2 class (4 boys and 8 girls). Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that teacher activities reached the "Very Good" category and child activities fell into the "Very Active" category, while problem-solving skills and independence developed to the "Developing as Expected" (BSH) level. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model, supported by illustrated story puzzle media, is effective in developing the problem-solving skills and independence of Group B children at TK Harapan Bangsa Banjarmasin.

Organisasi nirlaba menghadapi tantangan dalam mempertahankan keterikatan karyawan (employee engagement) akibat keterbatasan sumber daya, sehingga faktor psikologis individu seperti self-efficacy dipandang berperan penting dalam mendorong keterikatan karyawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh self-efficacy terhadap employee engagement pada organisasi nirlaba. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode Covariance-Based Structural Equation Modeling (CB-SEM) yang dianalisis menggunakan IBM AMOS. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 114 karyawan organisasi nirlaba swasta yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa self-efficacy berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap employee engagement. Di antara ketiga dimensi employee engagement, vigor merupakan dimensi yang memberikan kontribusi terbesar dalam membentuk keterikatan karyawan. Temuan ini memperkuat Social Cognitive Theory bahwa keyakinan individu terhadap kemampuannya sendiri merupakan sumber daya psikologis yang mendorong keterlibatan kerja. Secara praktis, organisasi nirlaba disarankan untuk mengembangkan program peningkatan self-efficacy melalui pelatihan kompetensi, pengembangan keterampilan, serta pemberian pengalaman kerja yang mampu meningkatkan rasa percaya diri karyawan guna memperkuat employee engagement dan mendukung keberlanjutan organisasi.

This study was motivated by field observations indicating low student learning outcomes due to a teaching and learning process that remained teacher-centered, with group activities still dominated by certain students. Consequently, not all students were actively involved in the learning process, resulting in less optimal student learning outcomes. This study aimed to improve student learning outcomes in IPAS instruction through the implementation of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model in Grade 4 at SDN 11 Tambangan, Tanah Datar Regency. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 21 Grade 4 students at SDN 11 Tambangan, Tanah Datar Regency. Data were collected through observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study indicated that the implementation of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model could improve student learning outcomes in IPAS instruction. The improvement was demonstrated by the increase in the percentage of students who achieved learning mastery from the initial condition to Cycle I and subsequently to Cycle II. Therefore, the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model can be used as an alternative learning model to improve student learning outcomes in IPAS instruction at the elementary school level.

Critical thinking skills and science process skills among elementary school studentsremain relatively low, as observed in Grade III of SD Negeri Tritih Kulon 09,Panjaitan Cluster, North Cilacap District, where students had never conductedsimple experiments, formulated hypotheses, or carried out scientific inquiry on themetamorphosis topic due to teacher-centered instruction. This study analyzes theeffect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on critical thinking skills andscience process skills, while examining the relationship between the two variables.The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design(Nonequivalent Control Group Design), involving 51 Grade III students divided intoan experimental group (28 students from SD Negeri Tritih Kulon 09) and a controlgroup (23 students from SD Negeri Tritih Kulon 06). Data were collected throughtests, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Mann–Whitney U Testsince the data did not meet the assumptions of normality and homogeneity. Resultsshow that PBL had a significant effect on both critical thinking skills (Mean Rankexperimental 36.89 vs. control 12.74; Sig. = 0.000) and science process skills (MeanRank experimental 34.52 vs. control 15.63; Sig. = 0.000), with mean gains of 26.61and 16.07 points in the experimental group, while the control group declined on bothvariables. This study provides empirical evidence that PBL can develop criticalthinking skills and science process skills in an integrated, simultaneous mannerwithin a single learning topic, a focus rarely addressed in previous PBL studies,which have generally examined the two variables separately.

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning model based on Socio Scientific Issue on students' environmental literacy on environmental pollution material at SMA Negeri 2 Pangururan. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study amounted to 216 students, namely all grade X students of SMA Negeri 2 Pangururan in the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The sample of this study consisted of two classes, namely X-2 as the experimental class and X-6 as the control class. The sampling technique was carried out by purposive sampling. The data collection technique was carried out through an environmental literacy test instrument in the form of 25 multiple-choice questions and 3 essay questions used to determine data on aspects of students' knowledge and cognitive skills. A questionnaire instrument was used to obtain data on aspects of students' attitudes and behaviors. This research instrument was made in accordance with environmental literacy indicators adapted from the Middle School Environment Literacy Survey (MSELS), which includes aspects of knowledge, attitudes, cognitive skills, and behavior. The results of the study showed that the average posttest score of the experimental class was in the very good category, while the control class was in the good category. The results of the independent sample t-test showed a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.01), which means there is a very significant influence of the Problem Based Learning model based on Socio-Scientific Issues on students' environmental literacy. Thus, the Problem Based Learning model based on Socio-Scientific Issues is effective in improving students' environmental literacy on environmental pollution material.

The ability to identify the main idea of expository texts is an important skill that elementary school students must master in their Indonesian language studies, as it forms the foundation for comprehending the content of a text in its entirety. This study aims to determine the effect of using the Edpuzzle interactive media on the ability of sixth-grade students at SDN Dukuh Kupang II-489 in Surabaya to identify the main idea of expository texts during the 2025/2026 school year. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design. The study population consisted of 55 sixth-grade students at SDN Dukuh Kupang II-489 in Surabaya during the 2025/2026 academic year. The sample comprised 28 students in the experimental class who used the Edpuzzle interactive media and 27 students in the control class who used physical reading materials. Data collection was conducted through a posttest, while data analysis utilized statistical tests with the assistance of SPSS software. The results of the study indicate that the ability of students in the experimental class to identify the main ideas of expository texts was better than that of the control class. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of the Edpuzzle interactive media has a positive effect on the ability of sixth-grade elementary school students to identify the main ideas of expository texts.

This classroom action research (CAR) aims to improve procedural text writing skills among 5th-grade students (Class VB) at SDN Sukapura 01 through the Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, and Transferring (REACT) learning model. The primary problem was students' low writing skills, where 41.94% failed to meet the Learning Objectives Achievement Criteria (KKTP) due to difficulties in organizing logical steps, limited vocabulary, and proper spelling and punctuation usage. The research followed the Kemmis and McTaggart CAR model across two cycles, with two meetings per cycle. Subjects were 31 students (18 males and 13 females) during the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data were collected via writing performance tests (worksheets), observation sheets, and documentation, targeting a classical mastery level of ≥75. The results showed significant improvement in writing skills. In Cycle I, classical mastery reached 70.97% (22 students passed) with an 85% implementation rate. Following improvements in time management and tutorial video implementation in Cycle II, classical mastery increased to 93.55% (29 students passed) with a 97.5% implementation rate. In conclusion, the REACT model effectively improves procedural text writing skills for 5th-grade elementary school students.

Writing poetry is a language skill that requires the ability to choose diction and use figures of speech so that ideas can be conveyed in an imaginative, expressive, and aesthetically pleasing manner. However, students still struggle to transform their ideas into poetic language. This study aims to improve poetry-writing skills through the application of the drama script adaptation technique, aided by media for transforming figurative language sentences, among students in Class XI-1 at SMAN 2 Jember. The study employed a mixed-methods approach that combined a descriptive qualitative approach with the Kemmis and McTaggart model of Classroom Action Research (CAR), conducted over two cycles. Data were collected through poetry writing tests, observations, interviews, and field notes. The results showed that the application of the drama script adaptation technique, supported by media for transforming figurative language, was able to improve both the process and outcomes of students’ poetry writing skills. The mastery of figurative language use increased from 28.57% in the pre-cycle to 65.71% in Cycle I and 91.43% in Cycle II, while the use of diction increased from 37.14% to 68.57% and 91.43%. The aspect of content alignment with the theme improved from 77.14% to 88.57% and 100%; idea development improved from 57.14% to 77.14% and 94.29%; and the coherence of the poem’s lines improved from 48.57% to 77.29% and 94.29%. In addition, students became more active, confident, and capable of transforming dialogue from a play into more poetic lines of verse. Thus, the technique of adapting a play script using media for transforming figurative language is effective as an alternative learning method to improve poetry-writing skills in high school.

The 21st century is characterized by rapid advancements across all sectors, particularly in education. 21st-century learning relies on technology as a medium to foster essential learning skills—specifically, digital literacy and creative thinking. Mastering these skills is crucial for navigating the challenges of the digital era. This study aims to determine whether a relationship exists between digital literacy proficiency and creative thinking skills among students in the biology course at SMA Negeri 12 Padang. Employing a descriptive research design with a quantitative approach, the study involved a sample of 175 respondents selected via purposive sampling. Data collection utilized a digital literacy questionnaire and an essay-based assessment of creative thinking skills, while data analysis was conducted using quantitative descriptive methods. The results indicate that both digital literacy and creative thinking skills among the students fall into the "moderate" category, at 73% and 59%, respectively. Analysis reveals a "very low" correlation, characterized by a positive correlation coefficient, indicating a unidirectional relationship.

This study aims to describe the improvement of students' critical thinking skills after the implementation of a structured inquiry learning model on vibration and wave materials. This study applies a quantitative approach with a one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 28 students in grades VIII-F SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Taman. The instruments used included pretest and posttest questions, observation sheets on learning implementation, and student response questionnaires. The preparation of test instruments refers to indicators of critical thinking skills, namely providing explanations, providing further explanations, and strategies and tactics. The results showed that students' critical thinking skills improved with an average N-gain value of 0.67 in the medium category. The normality test showed a significance value in the pretest of 0.322 and 0.077 in the posttest so that the data was declared to be normally distributed. The results of the paired t-test showed a significance value of < 0.001 which indicates a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. The implementation of learning at both meetings obtained a percentage of 100% with the category of very good. Meanwhile, the students' response obtained an average percentage of 90.97% with the very good category. Overall, the structured inquiry model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills.
