Abstract

The growth of digital platforms such as YouTube has opened new opportunities for Arabic language learning, including Nahwu (Arabic syntax), a topic often perceived as difficult by beginner learners due to its abstract and rule-dense nature. The abundance of instructional videos does not automatically guarantee sound multimedia design, which calls for a systematic evaluation framework. This study aims to analyze the multimedia design quality of three videos in the “Animasi Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab (Nahwu)” playlist on the BISA (Belajar Islam dan Bahasa Arab) YouTube channel, based on Richard E. Mayer's eight principles of the Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning (CTML): Coherence, Signaling, Spatial Contiguity, Temporal Contiguity, Segmenting, Pre-training, Modality, and Personalization. A qualitative content-analysis approach was employed through an analytical rubric built around these eight principles, with data gathered via repeated observation, visual documentation, and data reduction-display-conclusion procedures. The findings indicate that the three videos generally apply the Signaling, Spatial Contiguity, Segmenting, and Personalization principles well, including the Temporal Contiguity and Modality principles, which were confirmed through the researcher's direct audio-visual observation. This study recommends the accompanying rubric as a proposed instrument for researchers and content creators to evaluate and design more effective video-based Nahwu learning media.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of social support on homesickness among migrant students from the Mentawai Islands studying in West Sumatra. A quantitative approach with simple linear regression was employed, involving 163 participants selected through purposive sampling. The study used the Social Support Scale based on Sarafino and Smith (2011) and the Homesickness Scale based on Archer et al. (1998). Data were analyzed using JASP. The results indicated that social support had a significant effect on homesickness (t = 3.094, p = 0.002, R = 0.237, R² = 0.056), explaining 5.6% of the variance in homesickness, while the remaining 94.4% was influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. The findings suggest that higher levels of social support are associated with lower levels of homesickness, indicating that social support serves as an important protective factor in helping migrant students adapt to a new environment.

Abstract

This study synthesizes evidence on digital learning management mechanisms that support student learning outcomes and develops a quality-oriented implementation framework. An integrative literature review was conducted using empirical studies, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, policy reports, and official documents relevant to digital learning governance. Sources were selected according to relevance, publisher credibility, methodological transparency, verifiable metadata, and contribution to the review questions. Thematic analysis generated six dimensions: needs and readiness diagnosis; leadership, policy, and resource allocation; teacher competence and professional support; digital pedagogical design; implementation, interaction, and feedback; and monitoring, equity, safety, and continuous improvement. The findings indicate that digital technology does not automatically improve learning outcomes. Its contribution depends on goal alignment, active learning design, teacher-student interaction, timely feedback, teachers’ digital-pedagogical competence, sustainable infrastructure, and equitable access. Learning management systems, interactive multimedia, digital assessment, and gamification can strengthen flexibility, engagement, self-regulation, and academic achievement when governed as components of a learning system rather than as isolated tools. The study proposes a Quality-Oriented Digital Learning Management Framework linking organizational capacity, teacher practice, student experience, and learning outcomes through recurring cycles of diagnosis, action, evaluation, and improvement.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the difficulties experienced by elementary school students in understanding the concept of three-dimensional shapes, which are abstract and require visualization skills. Therefore, appropriate learning media are needed to provide a more concrete and interactive learning experience. This study aims to determine the effect of Augmented Reality media using Assemblr Edu on students’ learning outcomes in three-dimensional shape material at SDN 20 Indarung. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of class II C as the experimental class and class II B as the control class. Data were collected through pretest and posttest assessments, as well as attitude and skill assessment instruments. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the use of Augmented Reality media using Assemblr Edu had a significant effect on students’ learning outcomes. The cognitive aspect obtained a t-count value of 2.752 > t-table 2.019, with an N-Gain score of 0.569 in the experimental class, which was higher than the control class (0.321). Furthermore, significant effects were found in the attitude aspect (t-count 2.3415 > t-table 2.019) and skill aspect (t-count 2.09692 > t-table 2.019). Thus, Augmented Reality media using Assemblr Edu can be an alternative mathematics learning medium to improve students’ conceptual understanding, attitudes, and skills in three-dimensional shape material through concrete, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

Character education in elementary schools is an essential effort to build students' moral foundations and attitudes. This research aims to analyze the teacher's role in shaping the character education of elementary school students at SD Negeri 11 Metro Pusat, specifically examining the strategies, values instilled, obstacles, and effective solutions in both lower and upper grades. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data was collected through structured interviews with two teachers at SD Negeri 11 Metro Pusat handling Grade 1 and Grade 4. The findings reveal that teachers play a crucial role as role models and facilitators in character building. Character education is integrated throughout the learning process and applied consistently in the school environment. The most frequently instilled values include spiritual values, discipline, and daily habits. However, a significant obstacle identified is the lack of alignment between school teachings and parental application at home. To overcome this, teachers employ intensive communication, parenting programs, and resource person involvement. The study concludes that effective character education requires a synergistic collaboration between teachers, the school ecosystem, and parents

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of student-centered school management in strengthening elementary students’ independence and discipline. A descriptive qualitative case-study design was employed at SDN 2 Mamben Lauk, in Wanasaba, East Lombok. Data were collected through observations of school and classroom activities, interviews with the principal, classroom teacher, and fourth-grade students, and document analysis covering school regulations, classroom-duty schedules, habituation programs, activity photographs, and teacher evaluation notes. Data were analyzed through data condensation, display, and conclusion drawing, while source and method triangulation enhanced credibility. Four main patterns emerged. First, planning involved school rules, habituation programs, responsibility allocation, and monitoring mechanisms. Second, independence was fostered by allowing students to prepare learning materials, complete assignments, perform classroom duties, and assume age-appropriate responsibilities. Third, discipline was developed through teacher modeling, consistent rules, supportive supervision, and positive reinforcement. Fourth, routine evaluation enabled the school to adjust programs to students’ developmental needs. Implementation was constrained by diverse student characteristics, limited instructional time, and uneven parental support. The findings indicate that independence and discipline are strengthened when school management integrates student participation, consistent habituation, data-informed reflection, and sustained school–family support.
