Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the dumbbell arm swing exercise on forehand stroke speed in tennis. The research method used was an experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study sample consisted of 20 students divided into two groups: an experimental group of 10 students who underwent dumbbell arm swing training, and a control group of 10 students who participated in regular training. The instrument used in this study was a forehand stroke speed test using a radar speed gun. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test to determine differences in pretest and posttest scores within each group, and the Mann–Whitney U test to determine differences in score gains between the two groups. The results of the study showed that the experimental group experienced a significant increase in forehand stroke speed after undergoing dumbbell arm swing training, with a significance value of 0.005 (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, the control group did not show a significant improvement, with a significance value of 0.105 (p > 0.05). The results of the Mann–Whitney U test on the gain scores showed an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference in improvement between the experimental group and the control group. Abstract

In the development of modern football, the central midfielder holds a strategic role in maintaining the balance between defensive and offensive phases. This position demands high tactical ability, including decision-making accuracy, ball distribution precision, and effectiveness in winning duels. At the semi-professional level such as Indonesia's Liga 4, the performance of central midfielders across teams still shows variation that can affect overall team effectiveness. This highlights the need for deeper research to understand tactical performance differences and their implications for team strategy. This study was conducted to fill the gap in research on tactical performance differences among central midfielders of regional champion teams. The aim of the study was to analyze the differences in tactical performance of central midfielders between two Liga 4 Indonesia champion teams, namely Cimahi Putra (West Java) and Persebi Boyolali (Central Java). The analysis focused on five Key Performance Indicators: passing accuracy, dribbling success, interceptions, defensive duels won, and crossing accuracy. The study used a comparative descriptive quantitative design through notational analysis of three central midfielders from each team across seven official matches, with data obtained using InStat and LongoMatch software. An independent t-test (p < 0.05) was used to compare the two teams. The results showed two significant differences: Persebi Boyolali outperformed in passing accuracy (88.5% vs. 84.2%), while Cimahi Putra had a higher interception rate (5.8 vs. 4.1). These findings confirm PB's dominance in ball distribution and CP's advantage in ball recovery. Practically, CP needs to improve passing quality after transitions, while PB is advised to strengthen its interception ability. These findings provide an important basis for data-driven strategy development and talent scouting at the regional level. Abstract

The study aims to identify and classify digital professional training models used for Physical Education (PJOK) educators. This study follows the framework formulated by Arksey & O'Malley and Levac et al., and is structured based on PRISMA-ScR provisions. A literature search was conducted through the Scopus database for the period 2020-2025 by utilizing a combination of keywords related to sports, teacher professional development, and digital technology. Article selection included the removal of duplicates, title and abstract checks, and full-text reading. Data collection was carried out using a standardized charting form. From 18 articles that met the criteria, it was revealed that technologies such as VR/AR, wearable devices, motion sensors, gamification, and online learning platforms can improve the quality of teaching practices and several aspects of learning outcomes, requiring collaboration with teachers, and equipped with ongoing training and technical support. Most studies still face limitations in the form of quasi-experimental designs, small sample sizes, short intervention durations, reliance on self-reports, and minimal long-term measurements. Challenges in implementation were also identified, such as varying levels of teacher digital readiness and lack of infrastructure. This study demonstrates that digital professional training has significant potential to support changes in learning. Further research is needed to strengthen policies and formulate effective and sustainable models. Keywords: Digital Training, Physical Education, Teacher Professional Development

Abstract

This study aimed to develop the Selin Activity learning method, determine its feasibility, and examine its effectiveness in improving the fundamental movement skills of Phase C elementary school students. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The participants were fifth- and sixth-grade elementary school students. The feasibility of the product was evaluated by physical education experts, motor development experts, and practicing physical education teachers using validation instruments. The effectiveness of the product was assessed using the MOBAK 5–6 instrument, which measures two domains: object movement and self movement. Data were analyzed descriptively and further examined using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test and effect size analysis with SPSS version 25. The findings indicated that Selin Activity was successfully developed as a circuit-based learning method consisting of six movement activities. The validation results showed that the product was considered feasible for implementation, receiving scores of 74% from physical education experts, 78% from motor development experts, and 91% from practicing physical education teachers. The effectiveness test revealed a significant improvement in students’ fundamental movement skills following participation in the Selin Activity program, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the effect size values of 0.863 for the object movement domain and 0.856 for the self movement domain indicated a large effect on the improvement of students’ fundamental movement skills. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that Selin Activity is a feasible and effective learning method for improving the fundamental movement skills of Phase C elementary school students. The method has the potential to serve as an alternative approach to physical education instruction by increasing students’ active engagement and supporting the development of movement competence more effectively. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing the life values of Tarung Derajat and their influence on the attitude formation of members of Satlat GIM Sumedang. The study employed a qualitative approach with a participatory ethnographic method. The participants consisted of Tarung Derajat instructors, coaches, and members of Satlat GIM Sumedang. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis with the assistance of NVivo software through the stages of transcription, coding, categorization, and theme development. The results showed that members’ attitude formation occurred through a consistent habituation process involving training, the implementation of organizational rules, coaches’ role modeling, and the internalization of the philosophy of “muscle, brain, and conscience.” Values such as discipline, responsibility, emotional control, courage, and respect developed through repeated and structured training experiences. This study concludes that Tarung Derajat functions not only as a martial art but also as an effective medium for character education in shaping members’ positive attitudes. These findings contribute to the development of character education based on martial arts and can serve as a reference for fostering the moral development of the younger generation through non-formal sports activities. Future research is recommended to examine the effectiveness of internalizing martial arts values across broader age groups and social environments.    Keywords: Attitude Formation; Character Education; Life Values; Martial Arts; Tarung Derajat.

Abstract

This study aims to comprehensively examine the difference in playing satisfaction between synthetic carpet courts (vinyl/PVC) and cement floor courts (concrete) among badminton players, while also analyzing the underlying biomechanical implications. This quantitative study, using an ex-post facto approach, involved 150 badminton players (98 men, 52 women, aged 18-35 years). The results of the Paired Sample t-Test showed a statistically highly significant difference (t = 24.83; p = 0.000 < 0.05). The mean playing satisfaction score on synthetic carpet courts (M = 4.32; SD = 0.45) was significantly higher than on cement floor courts (M = 2.85; SD = 0.58). Shock absorption and pain prevention emerged as the largest contributors to the higher satisfaction level on carpet courts. These findings indicate the need for a gradual conversion of badminton court surfaces from cement floors to BWF-standard synthetic carpet to improve playing comfort and reduce players' risk of biomechanical injury. Abstract

This study aimed to examine and compare the effectiveness of Brain Endurance Training (BET) and Motor Cognitive Training (MCT) using the Switched On Training application in enhancing dynamic decision-making ability among karate kumite athletes. A quantitative experimental method was employed with a Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design with Matched Subjects. The sample consisted of 30 cadet-junior kumite athletes (aged 14-17 years) homogeneously divided into three groups (BET, MCT, and Control) based on gender and weight class classifications. Static decision-making (decision-making traits) was measured using the Decision Style Questionnaire (DSQ), while dynamic decision-making was evaluated through recorded kumite match simulation, analyzed according to a standardized rubric. The results showed: (1) the participants' baseline cognitive profile was consistently dominated by Brooding (BET = 13,73; MCT = 12,64), Confident (BET = 13,73; Control = 13,00), and Spontaneous (BET = 12,55; MCT = 12,09) dimensions, with decision anxiety levels ranging from low to moderate; (2) for dynamic decision-making, the non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test showed a statistically significant difference in overall Gain Score effectiveness across groups (Sig. = 0,003); (3) post-hoc Mann-Whitney U tests with Bonferroni Correction confirmed that the BET method was significantly superior to the control group (Sig. = 0,001); and (4) the MCT method showed no significant difference compared to the control group (Sig. = 0,200), while the comparison between BET and MCT indicated a trend favoring the BET group (Sig. = 0,053). It can be concluded that although athletes possess a baseline static decision style that is predominantly confident and spontaneous, Brain Endurance Training is the most effective intervention for maintaining the stability and effectiveness of attacking decisions in kumite athletes under conditions of mental fatigue.
