One way to overcome sleep quality is non-pharmacological therapy, one of which using lavender aromatherapy. Objective: This study aimed to determine the effect of lavender aromatherapy to the sleep quality of elderly at a Nursing Home. Methods: This research used a quasy experiment with a purpossive sampling design. Sample 32 elderly was divided into 2 groups, intervention and control groups. Data obtained used a translate of PSQI questionnaire. The intervention groups was given the lavender aromatherapy for 5 days. Data analyzed for the univariate and bivariate used a Mann-Whitney test. Results: Score of sleep quality in the intervention group pretest was 9.13 and posttest was 4.69. The score were decrease approximately 4,44 point. Whereas in the control group pretest was 9.19 and posttest was 8.13. The bivariate analysis for pre and post test data in intervention group revealed that the p-value was 0.001 (<?=0.05).Conclusion: Lavender aromatherapy significantly effect the sleep quality of elderly in a nursing home

Abstract

Background: The Total Fertility Rate (TFR) of 2017 IDHS data in Jakarta stagnated at 2.2, which has not yet reached the TFR target of 2.1. Objective: To investigate the variables associated with the stagnation of TFR decline in Jakarta based on the 2017 Jakarta IDHS data. Methods: Cross-sectional design, source of secondary data came from the 2017 IDHS fertility data of DKI Jakarta Province. Sample data of women of childbearing age, 883 samples. Independent variables: characteristics (age, education, occupation, decision maker), reproductive services (source of family planning services, media about family planning) and reproductive behavior (age at first active sexual intercourse, family planning method, use of health insurance, opinion about number of children). Data analysis was conducted up to the multivariate. Results: There was an association between age (p=0.000), education (p=0.028), decision maker (p=0.000), source of family planning services (p=0.000), age of sexual activity (p=0.008), contraceptive method (p=0.000) and opinion on number of children (p=0.000) with stagnation of TFR decline. Multivariate analysis: The OR value (2.331) was highest for the variable opinion about having more than two children. Conclusion: Factors that lead to stagnation of TFR decline in Jakarta were most at risk in the variable women of child bearing age opinion about having more than two children. Education is needed to raise awareness about the perception of ideal child value

Abstract

Background: Pain during labor is common process that involves the mother's physiology and psychology. Non-pharmacological management of labor pain includes the rebozo technique and pelvic rocking. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the rebozo and pelvic rocking techniques on the intensity of labor pain during the first active phase. Methods: Pre-experimental research design using 2 groups pre and post test group design. The sawas 32 people and samples were taken using total sampling. The independent variable is the rebozo and pelvic rocking technique, the dependent variable is the intensity of labor pain during the 1st active phase. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon signed rank test. Results: 81.3% of respondents who were given pelvic rocking therapy experienced a reduction in pain from severe pain to moderate pain and the rest to mild pain. There is an influence of the rebozo technique and pelvic rocking on the intensity of pain in the first stage of labor where the P value is (0.000 < 0.05). Conclusion: Rebozo is a long piece of cloth that is used to help couples feel comfortable during the birth process with techniques that can be learned together with your partner

Abstract

Background: The body injured potential for bleeding. Hemostatic drugs used to stop bleeding have many side effects. Kepok banana peels and bay leaves contain flavonoids and tannins which can stop bleeding. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of a combination of kepok banana peel extract and bay leaves on bleeding time in Wistar rats. Methods: True experimental research type with post test only with control group design. 20 rats were divided into 5 groups, group K- was given aquadest, group K+ : epinephrine 1mg/1ml, group F1: kepok banana peel extract and bay leaves 25%:75%, group F2 was given extract 50:50%, and group F3 was given 75%:25% extract. Results: One Way ANOVA test obtained a value of p=0,002 showing that there was a significant difference in the time to stop bleeding for each treatment group, followed by the Post Hoc Games Howell test. Conclusion: The F3 group with a combination of 75% kepok banana peel extract and 25% bay leaf extract was the most effective group in accelerating bleeding time in Wistar rats

Abstract

Background: PT X,company served custom-made prosthesis orthosis (PO). It has revealed that significant number of PO at PT X operate in non-ergonomic work environments with awkward postures during their work. Objective: This study aims to evaluate PO working posture in connection with their workstations with primary goal of addressing question Methods: Descriptive observational design with cross-sectional approach using total sampling. Research variables are musculoskeletal complaints; were assessed with Nordic Body Questionnare, and work postures; analized with RULA and REBA. Results: Rectification, assembly, grinding, cutting thermoplast sheets, chipping positive cast, and separating plastic from positive cast are workstations which have been identified as significant contributors to musculoskeletal injuries. All activities in those areas are done in standing position. Conclusion: In all activities, PO typically maintain standing posture for extended durations. This has led to development of musculoskeletal injuries required appropriate treatment. It is recommended to improve PO positions during working and enhance their workstations accordingly

Abstract

Background: Acute respiratory infections are upper and lower respiratory tract infections caused by various pathogens. Chest physiotherapy is an attempt to clear the airways and excess secretions. Pursed lip breathing helps control breathing with extended exhalation time. Objective: To analyze the differences between chest physiotherapy and pursed lip breathing on increased peak exhalation flow, oxygen saturation, and decreased degrees of shortness of breath. Methods: The type of research is qualitative, pre- and post-experimental research methods with static group comparison design using purposive sampling techniques. There were 48 respondents divided into two groups. Group I ARI patients were given chest physiotherapy, and Group II ARI patients were given pursed lip breathing, which was done in six weeks. Results: Paired Sample T Test (p=0,000) and Independent Sample T Test (p=0.027) Peak Expiration Flow, (p=0.049) Respiratory Rate, and (p=0.040) oxygen saturation. Results of study: There were significant differences between chest physiotherapy and pursed lip breathing regarding increased peak exhalation flow, oxygen saturation, and decreased degrees of breathing. Conclusion: Chest physiotherapy is quicker to help cleanse the airway and reduce complaints than pursed lip breathing, which the patient himself practices.
