Abstract

The cooperative learning model known as Think Pair Share (TPS) emphasizes students' cooperation to help each other and discuss the Arabic text they will read. The purpose of this study was to find out how the learning model of TPS Ma'had Aly Nurul Jadid influenced the maha>arah al qira>ah in I'dadiyah students. This study used quantitative research techniques and survey types based on variable characteristics. The population of this study consisted of 140 Ma'had Aly Nurul Jadid students from Tamhidiyah, I'dadiyah, and Ma'had Aly programs. using a sample size of 25 students from I'dadiyah Ma'had Aly Nurul Jadid. The instruments used to collect data were questionnaires for the independent variable (x) and oral tests for the dependent variable (y). While the analysis technique based on the hypothesis is associative or correlative (cause or cause) and uses Somer's D method with the help of the SPSS 16.0 for Windows application, which uses ordinal data, Based on the results of the data analysis, the results showed no influence between the TPS Learning Model and maha>rah al qira>ah, as evidenced by Approx. Sig., which obtained a value of 0.171 > 0.05, then it was declared insignificant because the value was greater than the value of statistical provisions (criticism value), which was 0.05. So the TPS Learning Model has no influence on the maharah al qiraah.

Abstract

Learning Arabic as a beginner is a challenge in itself due to differences in accents, grammar, and sentence structure compared to other languages. Moreover, there is the perception that learning Arabic is difficult and tedious. The latest innovations in technology and information in today's era are crucial in the learning process. Mobile technology, especially Android-based media, is expected to address these issues significantly. One Android-based learning application that can be used for learning Arabic as a beginner is Busuu. Busuu is an application developed to assist individuals in learning foreign languages, including Arabic. This research aims to provide contributions and recommendations for developing a more effective and efficient method of learning Arabic using Android-based learning media. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. The research findings indicate that using the Busuu application as an Android-based learning media for beginners is effective and efficient because it is supported by an attractive interface, clear instructions, and valuable features, eliminating the perception that learning Arabic is difficult and tedious.

Abstract

The language used every day cannot be separated from fi'il vocabulary or verbs as predicates in grammar. This research explains the process of verb affixation in Palestinian-Israeli news headlines. This qualitative research uses Palestinian-Israeli news headlines in Al Jazeera accounts as a data source. Data was collected through listening methods and note-taking techniques. The data that has been collected in an article is then analyzed using the collection method and the technique of selecting determining elements, followed by the technique of connecting and distinguishing. Researchers found verb affixations in Palestinian-Israeli news headlines, including prefixes found in fi'il mudhari', which are marked with the letters ي, ت, ا, ن. Second, suffixes are found in fi'il madhi, which are marked with the letters ا, و, ت, ن. Third, confixes are found in fi'il madhi and fi'il mudhari' which are marked with the letters ا, س, ت, ,ي at the beginning of the word and at the end of the word are marked with the letters .ا, ت, و, ن  Fourth, infixes are found in fi'il madhi and fi'il amar which belong to the fi'il mazid group, which are marked with the letters ا and .ت

Abstract

The knowledge aspects of Arabic language by an Arabic learner have a positive correlation with their Arabic language skills. A competent person of these aspects of Arabic language can be tested through language competence test which includes grammatical test and vocabulary test. The purpose of this research is to find out the characteristics of language tests on midterm assessment questions (PTS) Arabic subjects of grade IX students of Junior High School (SMP) Innovative School Cianjur for the 2023-2024 academic year. This research is a descriptive qualitative type, with document review as a data collection technique, then the data obtained will be analyzed through the stages of reduction, presentation, and verification. The results showed that: 1) The form of Arabic competency test on PTS questions for grade IX students of SMP Innovative School Cianjur for the 2023-2024 academic year, includes sentence structure test, morphological structure test without text, vocabulary comprehension test in text and without text, and vocabulary storage test in text, with multiple-choice question forms and essay. 2) The Arabic language competency test on PTS questions for grade IX students of SMP Innovative School Cianjur for the 2023-2024 academic year is quite good when viewed from the contextuality of the content because it has minimized discrete tests even though it is still in simple text and question form.

Abstract

Education in Indonesia is currently competing to require the nation's children to be able to master various foreign languages, one of which is Arabic. Good mastery of Arabic needs to be based on the number of mufrodat that are mastered. This research uses qualitative research methods conducted on class VII students of SMP Qur'ani Dliyaul Qur'an Menemen as the research population. The research subjects, consisting of people, are the researchers themselves and data collectors. Data collection methods include interviews, questionnaires, field data, photos, documents, memos, and other notes. This research data was taken from 15 students. As a result of the discussion on the use of the singing method in memorizing the mufradat, the students became more enthusiastic and more active in learning Arabic and were even more unified in singing the Arabic mufradat. Without memorizing it manually, the students already memorized the mufradat with this singing method. According to Bonnie and John, there are benefits to the method. Singing helps achieve abilities in developing thinking power, helps channel emotions such as happiness or sadness through the content of song or singing lyrics, and helps add new vocabulary through song lyrics or chanting. The aim of this research is that more students will be interested in memorizing Arabic muhradat for students who are anxious and lazy. Based on the assessment of experts, the use of the singing method in memorizing mufradat is very interesting for students who are less enthusiastic about learning; therefore, the researchers used this method for SMP Qur'ani Dliyaul Qur'an.

Abstract

This research was conducted to increase teachers' insight in applying the nahwu game model so that they can teach Arabic easily. This research aims to explore the implementation of Nahwu Matching game as a fun and engaging approach to teach the basic structure of isim isyarah (demonstrative pronouns) in a classroom setting. The study specifically focuses on its application in a small class of third-grade students at MI Nurul Amal. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach with field research method, utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The main findings reveal that the implementation of Nahwu Matching game in the small class setting is effective and well-received by the third-grade students. The game provides an engaging learning experience, and the students' positive responses demonstrate its success. The study highlights the advantages of using this game in a small classroom, as it facilitates an interactive and enjoyable learning environment. No significant limitations were found in terms of its instructional aspects. The implications of this research suggest that teachers of Arabic language can consider incorporating game-based approaches into their instruction to enhance active and innovative learning experiences. Overall, this study provides valuable insights for educators in utilizing game-based models for teaching Arabic language in an engaging and effective manner.

Abstract

The pattern of learning in the 21st century is marked by the usage of various information and communication technology as the learning media and boundaries of space and time are increasingly fading. Therefore, teachers are demanded to constantly create and innovate to present exciting and fun learning, including Arabic language learning. One of the latest media teachers can use as Arabic language media that has not been widely studied is LingoHut. By applying library research, the researcher thoroughly examines Arabic language learning using LingoHut. The primary data in this research was gathered directly from the website and LingoHut application. At the same time, the other various library sources became secondary data sources. The research result indicates that LingoHut provides five kinds of game-based learning, e.g., flashcards, matching games, tic-tac-toe, concentration game, and listening game. The innovation of game-based Arabic language learning in LingoHut can indeed make students active in teaching-learning. Nevertheless, most learning types only focus on students' ability to remember and memorize. Additionally, the teachers also need to be attentive, noting weaknesses in LingoHut to prepare better and more interesting learning from the App. Ultimately, this research contributes to offering digital Arabic learning media options for teachers in the classroom as well as becoming an independent Arabic learning platform with a wide choice of learning topics.

Abstract

Communication skills are very important in everyday life to convey information, expressions, thoughts, and ideas to other people. This study uses a qualitative method. The data used in this research was taken from observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The introduction of an integrative communicative approach to Muhadatsah learning at Ma'had ‘Aly Nurul Jadid is an innovative step in improving the students' Arabic language skills. This approach comprehensively integrates aspects of communication and language skills, thereby enabling students to develop their speaking skills more effectively. As an Islamic educational institution, Ma'had ‘Aly realizes the importance of learning Arabic to understand religious texts. With integrative communicative-based Muhadatsah learning, it can create a learning environment that supports direct interaction between musyrifaat and students, helping students understand and use Arabic in everyday contexts. This research aims to determine the application of the muhadatsah method in collaboration with an integrative communicative approach so as to obtain maximum results, namely creating students who are proficient in understanding and communicating using Arabic, so that students are able to master and apply the language well in various communication situations in real life. In this way, the application of a communicative approach in muhadatsah learning can form students who are capable of using Arabic and are able to apply it in real life, which is relevant to everyday life.

Abstract

In Pondok pesantren Darul Iman, students are required to communicate using the Arabic language, so researchers are interested in examining whether in Pondok pesantren Darul Iman, there is a mix of Arabic and mother tongue code which is the language they learned from birth, as well as to determine the factors and forms of mixed language code in conversation at pesantren Darul Iman, the method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study showed that there is a mix of codes that occurs in the conversation of Islamic boarding school students. Darul Iman is divided into three formations, namely: (1) mix the code of Indonesian to Arabic, (2) mix the code of regional languages to Arabic. This study found the type of outer code mixing in the form of insertion and congruent lexicalization. The factors that cause language mixing in the conversation of students at Pondok pesantren Darul Iman are: (1) limitations in vocabulary, (2) background of speakers, (3) mixing codes occurs due to the situation, (4) speech partners with the same background, (5) speakers do not find the right word equivalent, (6) clarification and refinement of requests, (7) the habit of interacting using regional languages.

Abstract

Bilingual dictionaries are necessary to help learners understand and communicate in the target language, and bilingual dictionaries serve as a second resource when native speakers are not available. The problem is the basis for selecting equivalents and the level of similarity related to the semantic field. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with library research and quantitative research as support. Researchers used three data collection techniques, namely content analysis, questionnaires and interviews with 173 respondents. Research findings show that aspects of accessibility include the field of morphology: difficulty finding basic words, the semantic field has difficulty finding equivalent words and graphics. About (52.75%), users prefer entries that are appropriate to the context, and (35.16%) prefer entries based on usage examples. The difficulty of using a bilingual Arabic-Indonesian dictionary is caused by language competency factors, both grammar and semantics, design factors including design, dictionary graphics. Then the intensity factor is around (60%) rarely using a dictionary. The results of the survey questionnaire on 91 users showed that (91.21%) felt that they needed training in using dictionaries, this was based on the role of dictionaries, which increased (65.93%) stated that dictionaries had a significant role in study activities. Solution, more than half 58.24% of users chose to switch to electronic dictionaries. So this phenomenon has an impact on users switching to using electronic dictionaries.
