Abstract

Psycho-socio-linguistics is a branch of linguistics that studies the relationship between language and the psychology and social aspects of language speakers. Psycho-socio-linguistics has an important role in the process of language learning, especially Arabic. Given the importance of the role of psycho-socio-linguistics, researchers want to study more deeply how psycho-socio-linguistic phenomena in Arabic language learning are carried out at Muhammadiyah Boarding School, Cepu. The purpose of this study is to deepen our understanding of how psychological and social aspects interact in the process of learning Arabic. The method used in this study is descriptive-qualitative. The data collection technique involves observing and interviewing. The results of this study reveal that psycho-socio-linguistics in Arabic language learning helps understand the role of psychological factors, such as language understanding and information processing, in the context of social and cultural interactions. The research also underscores the importance of understanding differences in dialects, grammar, and social contexts in Arabic language teaching. The results of this study can be used as a basis for the development of more effective learning strategies in Arabic language teaching by considering the psychological and social aspects involved.

Abstract

Perkembangan zaman yang kian modern menuntut segalanya menjadi lebih mudah dan praktis, berdampak pula pada perkembangan kamus. Kini banyak kamus berbasis aplikasi mobile yang bermunculan dan digemari oleh masyarakat, termasuk mobile dictionary “Al-Kamus” karya seorang dai Indonesia bernama Dr. Firanda Andirja Abidin, Lc. MA. Studi kualitatif deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan menganalisis tipologi dan kriteria ideal mobile dictionary “Al-Kamus” menggunakan pendekatan leksikografi. Sumber data penelitian berasal dari mobile dictionary “Al-Kamus” dan sumber data berupa literatur-literatur yang berkaitan dengan subyek penelitian. Analisis data menggunakan deskriptif analisis, dengan pendekatan leksikografi. Hasil penelitian ini menginformasikan bahwa mobile dictionary “Al-Kamus” termasuk dalam tipologi kamus bahasa (ditinjau dari segi tema), kamus dwibahasa (ditinjau dari segi jumlah bahasa), kamus digital ( ditinjau dari segi bentuk), kamus umum (ditinjau dari segi materi), dan berdasar susunannya Al-Kamus tidak menyajikan secara urut dari A-Z atau alif-ya, akan tetapi disajikan lebih praktis hanya dengan mengetikkan kata yang ingin diterjemahkan pada kolom pencarian. Al-Kamus pun memiliki banyak kelebihan yang ditawarkan sebagai nilai lebih dari aplikasi tersebut. Kemudian berdasarkan kriteria keidealan, kamus ini masih belum tergolong kamus ideal dan sempurna dikarenakan kategori kecermatan  yang belum terpenuhi walau kamus ini memiliki kriteria kemudahan, kelengkapan, dan keringkasan yang tergolong baik. Dengan demikian, berdasarkan hasil analisa peneliti secara keseluruhan Al-Kamus ini layak dan direkomendasikan sebagai salah satu referensi kamus digital yang dapat dimanfaatkan bagi para pemerhati bahasa Arab.

Abstract

This research aims to develop maharatul kalam teaching materials based on local wisdom. Based on the analysis of student needs, including the lack of availability of maharatul kalam teaching materials based on local wisdom, lack of interest of students in memorizing conversations, the ability of students who are still less proficient in speaking Arabic. The local wisdom used is limited in terms of tourist attractions in one area, traditional houses, traditional colors, food, and traditional clothing. This research method is D&D Design and Development. The subjects in this study were MTs Hubulo students with a total of 10 people and 15 students at MTs Khairul Hikmah Longalo. Data collection techniques and instruments in this study used observation, interviews, documentation and questionnaires. The data analysis technique of this study paired sample t test. The results of this study are based on the results of the implementation of pretest and post test values based on ttest > ttable values, which are 45,222>2,262. So it can be concluded that there is a very significant difference between the final value of the post test and pre test. And at the evaluation stage received a positive response from students so that this teaching material could be used in school. The contribution of this research is teaching materials in the form of printed books used by students in learning Arabic, especially the subjects of maharatul kalam (muhadatsah). The book also comes with audio.

Abstract

     Learning Arabic, especially the topic of 'Adad Ma'dud,' faces challenges in student comprehension and motivation, especially among the digital native generation. This research applies a qualitative descriptive method approach with field observations to elaborate on the implementation of learning through the hybridization between the digital media YouTube and Quizizz as digital learning media among students at SMK-IT Daarussyifa. The research results demonstrate the importance of the teachers role in implementing Arabic language learning especially the topic of ‘Adad Ma’dud, by utilizing digital media that combines YouTube and Quizizz. Students' perspectives on the hybridization of YouTube and Quizizz are highly positive, showing enthusiasm and better understanding of the material when compared to without using the hybridization of the two media. The majority of students were able to overcome technical challenges and enjoyed using both media in learning. Apart from that, students' learning outcomes also significantly improve after implementing of media hybridization. Therefore, learning Arabic, especially the topic ‘Adad Ma’dud through the hybridization of YouTube and Quizizz proves to be an effective solution for enhancing student comprehension and motivation, especially among the digital native generation.

Abstract

Learning Arabic is a complex process that not only involves linguistic aspects, but in the context of learning Arabic, it also requires important aspects, such as the relationship between language, gender bias, and identity. Language is important because it functions as a means of communication for people in their daily lives, so learning Arabic is closely related to gender bias and language identity. This research aims to explain language, gender bias, and identity in the book Al-Arobiyyah lil Induniysiyyin. This type of research is qualitative and uses a library research approach by obtaining data from journals, books, and other sources relevant to the research. The results of this research reveal that the function of language, apart from being a means of communication, also includes self-expression, identity, and culture, as well as education and learning. An important aspect of learning Arabic is gender bias. Forms of gender bias in the book Al-Arobiyyah lil Induniysiyyin include the role of men being more dominant in terms of work, nature, and role in Arabic texts compared to the role of women. Forms of gender bias are divided into three categories: mudzakar (masculine), muanats (feminine), and functional (neutral). Apart from gender bias, another aspect is language identity. The forms of language and identity learned in Arabic can be summarized as religious identity, cultural identity, and national identity.

Abstract

Family is the most important figure in education. Even though students are assigned to schools, families have an influence on student learning outcomes directly or indirectly. Some of the families of students at MAN Berau, East Kalimantan, think that the responsibility for educating is delegated to the teacher, including learning Arabic. This type of research is field research(field research), a qualitative approach with the case study method, data sources were collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The subjects of this study were families of junior high school alumni, students and Arabic language teachers at MAN Berau. The object of this research is the role of the family towards general junior high school alumni students in learning Arabic. The results of the study show that there are 3 family roles for 10th grade junior high school alumni in learning Arabic at this school, namely: 1) providing learning facilities in the form of dictionaries and the internet, 2) guiding students in student learning, 3) providing motivation and advice. There are 3 obstacles, namely: 1) the family has never learned Arabic, 2) Arabic is not yet considered a main subject, 3) the family does not know where to take Arabic lessons. The impact consists of Positive Impact and Negative Impact. The positive impacts are 1) growing students' enthusiasm in learning Arabic, 2) students are faster in doing assignments, 3) students' knowledge of Arabic is constantly growing. As for the negative impact that is caused, the teaching responsibility is completely focused on the teacher.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the meaning of the verb "create" to a single word with a single meaning or otherwise using the MSA theory. The data used in this study consists of Arabic words, phrases, and sentences that contain the significance of the verba "Create". The method used for gathering data is the slide and talk method. The analysis of this research data includes qualitative descriptive using agih methods and variable techniques, expansion techniques, injection techniques, and parafrase techniques. In this study, there are data showing five lexicons meaning “create” with different entities to express the verb: verba أبدع /abda’a/, ابتكر /ibtakara/, خلق /khalaqa/, اخترع /ikhtara’a/ and أوجد /awjada/. Verba أبدع / Abda’a/- or ابتدع /ibtada’a./ is a “creating” verb used to describe the transitional word “creates” for something new or renews the previous creation and is also meant as creation with creativity like an idea. And Verba اخترع/ikhtara’a/- is the “creation” verb indicating the creation or discovery of something new. Then the verba ابتكر/ibtakara/- is a verba “created” which produces a creation in the presence of a structured design. Then verba خلق/qaqa/ is a verb meaning something created (no one has ever created before) with the measure of the will or the rule of the original creation verba that has never been created.

Abstract

Learning Arabic at the Mirqotul Ulum Islamic boarding school has characteristics that differentiate it from other Islamic boarding schools. This is because this Islamic boarding school pays great attention to mastering Arabic vocabulary, where initially Arabic was something scary and has now turned into something fun because of the learning model. This research aims to determine the Arabic language learning model implemented at the Mirqotul Ulum Islamic boarding school so that they can master one of the skills in Arabic, in the form of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The objects studied were students and Arabic language teachers. Data analysis in this research uses qualitative descriptive analysis techniques consisting of observation, interview, and documentation stages for data collection. The results of this research show that Arabic language learning at the Mirqotul Ulum Islamic boarding school uses Bloom's Taxonomy in category LOTS (Lower Order Thinking Skills). This application has been integrated in a balanced manner through the abilities possessed by the students of the Mirqotul Ulum Islamic boarding school. In teaching Arabic, we use the method of memorizing vocabulary through trendy songs, both in the 90s and 2000s, so that we can train students to be creative and innovative, as well as create students who can master Arabic vocabulary well and correctly.

Abstract

The basis for establishing the rules and forms of Ibn Malik's thought in the science of nahwu has a distinctive character. Therefore, this study has two aims, (1) to explicitly identify the basis of Ibn Malik in establishing nahwu rules in general. (2) examine the form of Ibn Malik's thought which tends towards the Basrah flow represented in the book of Alfiyah. The approach in this research is descriptive qualitative. The research data are facts related to Ibn Malik's thoughts, lingual units contained in the Alfiyah book, and information related to his interpretation. The data sources for this study are kitabs, books, scientific journals, and relevant research. The method for providing data is by observing techniques in the form of reading data, followed by a tapping process. The analysis method used is content analysis. The results of the research show that in establishing the rules of nahwu, Ibnu Malik used a different base of thought compared to previous nahwu scholars, namely referring to hadith extensively. This is based on his intellectual journey, his expertise in studying hadith, as well as the historical factor that hadith at that time had been well translated.  As for the form of thought that tends towards the Basrah school, it is represented in one of his phenomenal books, namely Alfiyah.  In this book have found 51 problems (the most dominant quantity) that tend to be based on Basrah's thinking, both in terms of the form of rules established and the framework of thinking.

Abstract

The competitive environment and increasingly competitive global issues necessitate competency development that satisfies 21st-century demands. The Free Learning Curriculum is a response effort in addressing it. Project Based Learning (PjBL) is a viable and effective approach when implementing the Free Learning Curriculum. With the use of Project-based Learning (PjBL) in the Independent Learning Curriculum, this study attempts to investigate the factors that help and hinder learning Arabic. The research methodology for the library research uses a qualitative descriptive approach. By gathering material from numerous pertinent sources, including books, articles, and journals pertaining to the research topic, data were acquired through documentation approaches. The three steps of the data analysis technique are reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The study's findings demonstrate that using PjBL to learn Arabic has a beneficial effect on the growth of analytical critical thinking abilities as well as creativity, teamwork, and communication in everyday situations. This discovery aligns with the goals of the Free Learning Curriculum, which aims to offer relevant projects that facilitate an engaged, relevant, and meaningful learning experience. PjBL implementation is aided by the growth of language skills, contextual learning, student collaboration, and skills-based methodologies. However, there are hurdles for students who have not acquired Arabic language skills yet are expected to engage actively, as well as time constraints, resource limitations, disparities in assessment, and other issues. When PjBL is used to learn Arabic, students can maximise their Arabic language competence and enhance their speaking skills to a great extent.
