Abstract

Silat Perisai is one of the cultural heritages of the Pucuk Adat, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, which has existed since before the independence of the Republic of Indonesia and since 2017 has been included in the Intangible Cultural Heritage. This study aims to evaluate the results of ethnomathematical exploration carried out by students of Mathematics Education at Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai University in the Silat Perisai movement. This research is a descriptive study with a case study on ethnomathematical exploration in Silat Perisai. Researchers observed the exploration process carried out by students, and evaluated reports on exploration results. Student errors are viewed from two aspects, namely aspects of mathematical concept errors and aspects of ethnomathematical exploration procedures errors. Before carrying out the exploration, the student group first validated the research instruments used, such as observation sheets and interviews. The results showed that the overall level of error in disclosing ethnomathematical concepts of flat shapes reached 50%, which means that students' errors in expressing concepts are still relatively moderate. The procedural error rate in ethnomathematical exploration reaches 40%.

Abstract

Reading and listening as receptive skills have been investigated from multiple angles. The current research is a descriptive study aiming to find the correlation between the two receptive skills. In addition, it investigates the strengths and weaknesses in terms of four subskills (finding the main idea, answering stated-detail questions, answering implied-detail questions, and identifying the meaning of the expressions used in an oral or written discourse) performed by the respondents who were grouped as the high achievers and the low achievers. The research findings confirmed a significantly positive correlation between reading and listening skills. In the listening test, the high achievers had strengths in all of the subskills, whereas the low achievers’ performance in all the subskills was below 50%, which implied that they had weaknesses in all of the listening subskills. In the reading test, the high achievers had strengths in all subskills. The low achievers showed strong reading performance in the subskills of finding main ideas and answering stated-detail questions. At the same time, they had weaknesses in the subskills of answering implied-detail questions and identifying the meaning of the expressions used in the written discourse. This result implies that vocabulary is the most important factor to upgrade to anticipate the weakness in the subskills of answering implied-detail questions and identifying the meaning of the expressions used in the written discourse.

Abstract

Success in the student learning process cannot be separated from emotional intelligence and personality, that's why a study that aims to analyze the emotional intelligence and personality of PGSD students is carried out. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The sample of this research is 100 students. The data collection method used is a questionnaire. The questionnaire used consists of 54 terminals that have been tested for validity. Data analysis in the study was carried out interactively with 3 techniques, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that emotional intelligence was in the good category, this was indicated by the results of research students answered that the condition of emotional intelligence was good. However, there are two statements that need to be considered, namely the dimension of being able to control anger better. As for the personality of PGSD students, it shows that students are more likely to approach extrovent personalities, students prefer to interact with other people rather than be alone, but there are still some students who prefer to be silent rather than answer questions or prefer to convey. results. discuss compared to what he did. This condition is supported by the results of observations made in class. Where some students show that they lack confidence in expressing their opinions in practice or in conveying the results of discussions.

Abstract

There are still some students who make mistakes in the backstroke swimming competition so that they are disqualified. This is the reason why this research aims to analyze experience-based learning on physical fitness and backstroke mastery. The design of this study is a quasi-experimental design in the form of a posttest control group design. The number of samples in this study was 60. The data collection process used was the test and observation method. The data analysis method of this research is descriptive analysis and inferential statistical analysis using manova. The results showed that experience-based learning affected students' physical readiness and mastery of backstroke swimming both simultaneously and partially, this was indicated by the sig. <0.05. From the descriptive data, the results were also obtained in the form of students' backstroke swimming mastery variable being more influenced by experience-based learning. This can be seen from the average difference in value, which is large compared to the physical readiness variable. So it can be recommended that experience-based learning can be used as one of the innovative learning for swimming sports.

Abstract

Prospective teacher students have been heavily involved in developing ICT-based learning media. Various forms of media have been produced, such as multimedia, hypermedia, web, video, animation, or presentation. Until now, not all media developed have undergone a summative evaluation but only arrived at a formative evaluation. One of the reasons is the lack of references. This study aims to formulate a summative evaluation model of ICT-based learning media developed by prospective teacher students using quantitative and qualitative descriptive approaches. The study began with observations of student research reports to examine the summative evaluation model used. The information is then discussed in a focus group discussion involving relevant experts and practitioners. The study found that the summative evaluation of ICT-based learning media could be done through a quasi-experimental survey or case study. Quasi-experimental methods that can be applied are nonequivalent control group design, factorial design, counterbalanced design, and time series design. The format was obtained mainly considering limited time, a place for testing, and opportunities to be involved in the class. Either quasi-experiments, surveys, or case studies can be carried out by students in collaboration with relevant teachers when students do teaching practicum at school and then mature when students do research.

Abstract

The current unresolved problems in education in Indonesia include the weak literacy skills and numeracy skills that occur in students. One way to measure literacy and numeracy skills is through assessment. One form of assessment is through the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) which is carried out in class. This study aims to analyze the correlation between AKM classes with logical thinking skills. The research method uses mixed methods. This research was conducted in 3 junior high schools in eighth grade with different geographic locations. There are 60 respondents in total. The data collection technique used by the researcher used a written test in the form of AKM class questions, and for secondary data was an interview. Quantitative data analysis was carried out through prerequisite tests such as validity, reliability, and discriminatory power, level of difficulty, normality test, homogeneity test, and one way ANOVA test. The results of the analysis of the AKM literacy and numeracy AKM scores show that students' reading skills and numeracy skills are categorized as being in the low category. This means that students are still at the level of knowing and understanding. For this reason, it is very important to increase students' reasoning at a higher level in order to realize the implementation of curriculum 2013.

Abstract

Evaluation of graduates’ employment of Courses and Vocational Training Institutions (LKP) is very important to conduct, as a step to obtain feedback on programs or policies that have been implemented by vocational LKP in Indonesia. However, the absorption data for vocational LKP graduates has not been properly recorded at the present. Therefore the aims of this study is to analyze achievement of performance targets at the Directorate of Courses and Training (Dit-Suslat), Ministry of Education and Culture. This study using the Goal-Oriented Evaluation of program evaluation model from Ralp W Tyler. The results of the analysis point out that the target percentage of courses and trainings graduates in one year who get a job or become an entrepreneur has not reached the set target. Most LKP graduates are absorbed in the trading sector, manufacturing industry, as well as health services & social activities. Future needed labor are massively from the sectors of healthcare, construction, manufacturing and retail. Clerical, routine and repetitive jobs start to be replaced by robots and intelligent machines. The implementation of vocational LKP must be transformed in carrying out link and match as a whole.
