Abstract

There have been many studies developed to measure student self-efficacy. One of the instruments developed is the academic self-efficacy scale (TASES) designed by Sagone & Caroli (2014). The TASES instrument has four dimensions, namely, self-engagement, self-oriented decision making, others-oriented problem solving, and interpersonal climate. There were 30 items in the original version, but after being analyzed only 28 items remained. When adapted and validated in the Indonesian version, the remaining items are 25 items. This study aims to analyze item responses using the 2PL generalized partial credit model (GPCM) method. The participants involved in the research were 242 college students aged 18-25 years who were migrating outside the city or outside the island to pursue higher education. The results show that there are six items that have low discriminatory power (<0.4) so that they need to be revised (i9, i11, i24, i25, and i28) or eliminated (i12 and i24). In addition, the value of Cronbach's alpha on the interpersonal climate dimension is <0.7 so that it can be said to have poor consistency in measuring the self-efficacy of overseas students.

Abstract

Implementasi metode learning by doing sangat efektif diterapkan dalam pembelajaran berbasis kurikulum merdeka belajar.

Abstract

Jernang rattan (Daemonorops draco) is used traditionally as treatment for various health problems. One of them is degenerative diseases caused by free radicals, such as cancer. A natural alternative that able to overcome this disease needs to be developed. Scientifically, jernang rattan is known to have variety of secondary metabolites such as flavonoids, terpenoids, and alkaloids that cause abundant pharmacological activity in it. This makes jernang rattan to be potential as an antioxidant or anticancer compound. Research began with the extraction of compounds using maceration methods with ethanol solvents. Yield of the thick extract obtained was 9,912%. Phytochemical analysis was carried out to determine the content of compounds in extract. It results that extract showed the presence of flavonoid, triterpenoid and alkaloid compounds. Vacuum column chromatography(KVC) is then carried out to simplify the compounds contained in extracts. From this stage 5 combined fractions were obtained which were then tested for antioxidant (DPPH method). The test results of antioxidant activity on the ethanol extract gave an IC50 value of 212,235. Meanwhile, the fraction shows better IC50 value of 32,807.

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the anti-bullying movement in creating a safe school environment at SDN 1 Astanajapura. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The primary informants consisted of teachers, students, and parents. The findings revealed that anti-bullying programs, such as social skills training, awareness campaigns on the impacts of bullying, and school-based reporting policies, were effective in raising student awareness and preventing bullying behavior. Furthermore, the role of teachers as facilitators and mentors was crucial in supporting the success of these programs. However, challenges such as low parental involvement and students’ reluctance to report bullying cases still need to be addressed. Abstract

This study investigates the opinions of Universitas Nias fifth-semester English students about using English-language movies to improve their listening skill. Numerous studies have demonstrated that seeing movies can help students learn vocabulary, pronounce words correctly, and understand other accents. But few research has explicitly examined how students view this approach. Focus group discussions (FGDs) and structured interviews with 14 participants were used to gather data for this study, which uses a qualitative descriptive methodology. Key themes in the students' answers were found through the application of thematic analysis. The results show that students view English-language movies as a useful resource for enhancing their listening skill, particularly when it comes to recognizing various accents and genuine speech patterns. But obstacles like frantic conversations, strange vocabulary, and the need for subtitles continue to impede their development. According to the study, the learning process can be maximized by choosing relevant movies, progressively cutting back on the use of subtitles, and incorporating discussions. These results advance our knowledge of audiovisual learning techniques and offer suggestions to teachers on how to create engaging listening lessons.

Abstract

Schools as institutions must be open and adaptable to external changes in order to remain effective and sustainable especially in today's modern society where schools must function as both social and cultural systems. Through proper education, both individual and social aspects can develop in harmony, aligning with Indonesia’s motto —Unity in Diversity. Modern society is characterized by rational thinking, future-oriented perspectives, time consciousness, openness, and objective reasoning. Based on this background, this paper aims to examine schools as a system of social interaction. This study employs a qualitative approach, with data collected from relevant literature, including books, journals, and interviews. School is a concept with a dual meaning. First, it refers to a building or physical environment with all its facilities, serving as a place where a specific group of people undergoes a particular educational process. Thus, when we hear the word "school," what comes to mind is such a physical environment. This perception of school as a physical setting is reinforced by the relative uniformity in the design of buildings and facilities, making it possible to say that the physical conditions of schools of the same type and level are relatively similar. As a social system, a school is an accumulation of integral social components that interact and depend on one another. The microcosmic approach views a school as a world of its own, containing essential elements that define a society, such as leadership, governance, community members, rules, norms, and social groups.
