Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the effect of using picture word card media on the initial reading ability of class I students at SDN Inpres 2 Tangga. This type of research is experimental research, the research design used is Pre_Experimental Design with the One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design model. The data collection techniques used in this research are tests, observation and documentation. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis and inferential analysis. The subjects in this research were class I students at SDN Inpres 2 Tangga, totaling 14 students consisting of 10 boys and 4 girls. The research results show that the average pretest score is 45.3571 and the average posttest score is 69.6429. This shows that there is an influence on the initial reading ability of class I students at SDN Inpres 2 Tangga and the results of the Paired Sample hypothesis test show that the significance value of 0.001 is smaller than 0.05, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. "There is an influence of the use of picture word cards on ability beginning reading for class I students at SDN Inpres 2 Tangga."

Abstract

The background of this research begins with the researcher's observation of the mathematics learning process in class V SDN Kowel 1 Pamekasan, that students have not understood the concept of multiplication because there are still many students who use multiplication boards that they make themselves. The monotonous learning atmosphere also makes students not eager to start learning Mathematics. The pretest results showed that the students' test scores were very low with the percentage of students who scored more than 50 was 32% and from the questionnaire results which showed that students' lack of interest in Mathematics subjects and learning. From the initial data, the researcher designed the Mathemagics method using Ice Cream Math learning media to improve students' understanding of the concept of Mathematics multiplication. Then from the post test results there was an increase in results, namely the percentage of students who scored more than 50 was 96%. So, from the post test results obtained, it is concluded that the use of the Mathemagics method assisted by ice cream math media can improve students' understanding of the concept of multiplication.

Abstract

English. Students still difficult to pronounce a word or sentences, confused and lack self confident to speak out because they were worried about the mistakes. This is caused by the lack of vocabulary and other factors. To solve this problem the researcher did the research by action learning strategy in teaching speaking. The Objective of this research was to get empirical evidence about The Effect of Action Learning Strategy on Students‟ Speaking Ability. This research used pre- experimental method. This research had been conducted at MTs NW Husnul Abror. The Population of this research was the eighth-grade students which consisted of 32 students. In taking the sample, the present researcher used simple random sampling technique. The class taken was VIII. To collect the data, pre test and post test were given to the 32 students. It aimed at determined the mean score, standard deviation, normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis testing. Based on the data analysis, the present researcher found that the mean score of pre test was 55.25 and post test was 79.47. It indicated that in hypothesis testing, T test < α = 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). It meant that the alternative hypothesis was accepted and the null hypothesis was rejected. It can be concluded that action learning strategy was significantly effective in improving students’ speaking skill at the eighth grader of MTs NW Husnul Abror

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the preparation, process, and challenges of implementing the 2023 Computer-Based National Assessment (ANBK) at SD Inpres Noelbaki, Kupang Regency, by using a qualitative descriptive approach with the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. The study involved various parties, including the Headmaster, Deputy for Facilities and Infrastructure, Deputy for Curriculum, Proctor, the 5th Grade Homeroom Teacher, and 5th-grade students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and their validity was tested through time, technique, and source triangulation, then data analyzed by using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The results show that technical preparation included providing equipment such as Chromebook, Wi-Fi networks, the ANBK application, and exam simulations to ensure readiness. Non-technical preparation focused on guiding students through the questions. The challenges in preparation included students' low literacy and numeracy skills, limited guidance time, internet connectivity issues, and minimum ANBK socialization. The ANBK process was conducted as scheduled on October 18-19, 2023, with 30 students participating in two sessions. The challenges faced included internet connectivity disruptions, limited student skills in using computers, and student anxiety due to insufficient literacy and understanding of the questions. The results indicated that 63.33% of students achieved the minimum competency in literacy and 30% in numeracy. This study recommends improving numeracy, socialization, guidance time, and technical support for future ANBK implementations.

Abstract

Adolescents are an age group that is vulnerable to experiencing malnutrition or excess nutrition problems. Teenagers generally carry out higher physical activity compared to other ages, so they require more nutritional fulfillment. However, the incidence of overnutrition in adolescents can also occur due to poor eating habits so that the amount of energy input is greater than the energy expended. The purpose of this study was to describe the nutritional status of students. This type of research is quantitative with an analytical descriptive design on 85 students of MTs Al-Amin Pakis. Data on nutritional status were obtained by measuring the height using a microtoise and the respondent's weight using a mechanical scale. Nutritional status is classified based on the value of the BMI/age z-score table for children aged 5-18 years from the 2011 Indonesian Ministry of Health guidelines. The results of the data analysis obtained the nutritional status category of junior high school students who were involved as the majority of respondents who were in the normal nutritional status category, namely 77 people (90.58%). However, there were still 8 students (9.41%) who were obese.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the role of the philosophy of education in developing more holistic human resources (HR). This research uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. The data analysis technique used is content analysis. The results showed that education is an important investment in creating a quality generation that focuses on developing skills, knowledge, and ethics. The philosophy of education, as proposed by John Dewey, emphasizes the integration of intellectual and emotional abilities to form character through experiential learning that encourages critical thinking. In addition, the philosophy of education requires a holistic approach, considering the way the material is delivered, the impact on students, and the long-term effects on society. Critical thinking, as an integral part of educational philosophy, plays an important role in developing competitive human resources in the 21st century by facilitating effective problem-solving and decision-making.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of amoral actions in educational institutions on the character formation of students. In the context of education, amoral actions are often overlooked, yet they can significantly impact the moral and ethical development of students. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and document studies in several schools. The findings reveal that amoral actions, such as bribery, intimidation, and discrimination, have a significant negative impact on the character of students. Students exposed to amoral behavior tend to show a decline in moral and ethical values and experience difficulties in building healthy social relationships. This research also finds that a supportive educational environment that promotes positive values plays a crucial role in fostering good character. These findings are expected to serve as a consideration for schools and policymakers in creating a more ethical and moral educational environment for the better character formation of students.
