Abstract

Stunting in early childhood in Surabaya City, especially in Tambaksari District, is still a special concern even though it has decreased yearly. The Stress Management Psychoeducation Activity for Parents and Caregivers aims to increase the understanding and skills of parents and caregivers in managing stress which is expected to optimize parenting to prevent stunting. Psychoeducation is conducted through interactive seminars with the AAABC (Accept, Alter, Avoid, Building, and Change) method by delivering material on stress recognition, causative factors, and stress management techniques, such as breathing relaxation and meditation. This activity involved 42 participants previously members of the Sekolah Orang Tua Hebat program. The pre-test and post-test results showed a significant improvement based on the paired sample t-test results with a significant value of 0.000 (<0.05) which proves that this stress management psychoeducation is effective and contributes importantly to efforts to create better parenting and support Surabaya's vision of becoming a zero stunting city.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology has a significant impact on every aspect of life, including the emergence of one of the disturbing phenomena of online gambling and illegal online loans. Online gambling offers fantastic winnings that make victims addicted, while illegal online loans offer easy disbursement of funds that trap victims in financial problems. To increase awareness from an early age about the dangers of online gambling and illegal online loans, socialization activities were carried out for students of SMA Negeri-2 Palangka Raya. This socialization used an interactive lecture method with an audio-visual approach, case studies, simulations, and interactive quizzes. The results of the socialization showed that participants experienced an increase in understanding of the modus operandi and legal consequences of online gambling and illegal online loans and built critical awareness. In addition, participants also received education about the importance of wise financial management strategies as a preventive measure.

Abstract

The mastery of constantly evolving technology is a difficult challenge for teachers at SMK Negeri 2 Palangka Raya. To overcome this, self-development through training is necessary, such as using ChatGPT to make learning more effective. ChatGPT helps find educational resources with clear commands and supports the preparation of study plans, performance objectives, and task completion. This training was held at the Digital Marketing Laboratory of SMK Negeri 2 Palangka Raya and included preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Initial evaluation showed that 65% of participants did not know about ChatGPT, 15% were somewhat knowledgeable, and 20% were knowledgeable. After the training, understanding significantly increased, with the average correct answers rising from 52% to 85%. Recommendations for sustainability include focusing on difficult material, evaluating and revising training materials, and using interactive teaching methods. Implementation of interactive teaching through approaches such as group discussions, simulations, and case studies as well as direct practice.

Abstract

This PkM activity aims to accompany teaching and learning activities at LPKA targeting assisted students who are serving a prison term so they cannot go to school like their peers. Based on data from interviews with one of the sources who is the Person in Charge of the Development Division of LPKA Tjilik Riwut, Central Kalimantan, it is stated that child conflict -The majority of children serving criminal terms are perpetrators of sexual abuse, murder, and several children are involved in theft cases. PkM activities last for 3 months with a total of 7 learning meetings with a total number of students varying from 27 – 35 students each week. Each meeting is filled with mathematics learning that is appropriate to the context of daily life on number operations; distance, speed, time; social arithmetic; and the volume of the space. Learning about local culture is also provided by introducing each district in Central Kalimantan. The good response given by the LPKA and the assisted students who felt the benefits of the PkM program stated that this program was truly called Devotion because the LPKA felt helped in fulfilling the learning materials and the assisted students also felt happy taking part in the learning.

Abstract

Pattallassang District is a Mamminasata Metropolitan development area for urban settlements with an area of 5,983 Ha as an eastern Satellite City in Panaikang Village and Paccelekang Village, Pattallassang District. To improve the welfare of the people of Pacellekang Village, BUMDes Bumi Paccellekang Sejahtera (BUMDes BPS) was established, an agro-complex-based integrated tourist destination program. This Community Service activity aims to introduce innovative biofloc technology for catfish farming and provide technical guidance to catfish farming groups in Paccelekang Village through the biofloc system. The Community Service Program (PKM) was conducted in September 2024 in Paccelekang Village, targeting members of the BUMDes Paccelekang Sejahtera catfish farming group. The approach model used in this PKM program is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). The results of the PKM activities, through counseling and training programs, show that on average, partners had a low level of knowledge and skills regarding biofloc catfish farming techniques, with 70% (21 members) categorized as low, and only 10% (3 members) and 20% (6 members) categorized as good and fair, respectively. However, after the counseling and training, the knowledge level of the partners improved, with 10% (3 members) still in the low category, and 10% (3 members) and 80% (24 members) now categorized as good and fair, respectively. Quantitatively, there was a significant improvement in partner knowledge after the counseling and training. Continuous assistance will be provided until the partners become proficient in managing and cultivating catfish using the biofloc system.

Abstract

Alitupu Village, located in Napu Valley, North Lore District, Poso Regency, Central Sulawesi Province has the highest prevalence rate of schistosomiasis in humans, which is around 3.36%. Praziquantel as an antischistosomiasis causes side effects such as increased SGPT and SGOT, which is an obstacle in eradicating schistosomiasis, therefore developing natural resources with plants that have been proven to have properties as anthelmintic drugs, namely areca nut in the form of nanoparticles to maximize the biological availability of drugs given orally. This community service activity was carried out for 2 days in community groups and Gapoktan farmer groups with a socialization method by providing a pre-test, posters followed by a discussion session, questions and answers, and post-test and practice of making areca nut nanoparticles and making toilets followed by measuring satisfaction with community service by giving questionnaires to a total of 50 respondents. The results of the activity, the community was very enthusiastic and could increase their knowledge through the post-test. From the pretest calculation results of 24.4 and the posttest results obtained 86.8 people know how to prevent schistosomiasis. The results of the community satisfaction assessment showed that in general partners were satisfied with the activity by 92%. It can be concluded that this PKM activity is very beneficial for the people of Alitipu Village.

Abstract

The solid waste problem is still a topic of discussion in various forums. One of the most densely populated villages in Sukoharjo Regency, i.e. Makamhaji Village, produces a large volume of waste, and is a problem in itself. This Community Service Program invites the people of Windan, Makamhaji to process household organic solid waste through maggot bioconversion which can also have economic value. The team carried out socialization and community empowerment activities to reduce the amount of waste through maggot cultivation which can decompose organic waste into protein as part of the life cycle of black soldier flies (BSF). This program aims to provide technological information in maggot cultivation and improve the quality of human resources. The methods applied are through training, mentoring, monitoring, evaluation, provision and lending of facilities, and increasing cooperation networks with business actors in the field of waste processing. Community service activities have succeeded in fostering residents to carry out maggot cultivation and are quite productive so that they can increase income.

Abstract

The requirement for instructors who have the theoretical and practical skills of a training center is an absolute necessity. Don Bosco Vocational Training Center in Tambolaka, Southwest Sumba is a place to conduct many trainings, one of which is a solar power plant. Don Bosco Vocational Training Center has adequate equipment but the instructors have not been skilled in both theory and practice. Solar power plant training in theory and practice is a desired solution to obtain experience directly. The service aims to train instructors of the Don Bosco Vocational Training Center and the local community who want to know understand and practice directly. This activity is carried out through several stages: theoretical studies, solar panels in series and parallel and irradiance measurements, batteries and how to determine their health, solar charge control, single-phase inverters, hybrid single-phase inverters, protection systems and types of cables and connectors used. Practices are conducted on-site after the theory is comprehended, and off-grid practices are performed with two types: a combined solar charge control inverter and a hybrid inverter and troubleshooting. From this activity the interest of the instructors is very enthusiastic, this can be seen from the first day the instructors have been able to assemble all the equipment properly and function, on the second day it is repeated to ensure the performance of the instructors is correct along with troubleshooting. This success has proven that the Don Bosco Vocational Training is the center of solar power plant training in Southwest Sumba.

Abstract

Cosmetics are one of the products to improve appearance which are increasingly widely used in Indonesia. However, the large number of cosmetic uses is not in line with the quality. In recent years, Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan (BPOM) has noticed an increase in the spread of illegal cosmetics in Indonesia. Educational videos are one practical medium that can be used to promote the dangers of illicit cosmetics. This community service program aims to increase public understanding of the dangers of illegal cosmetics circulating on the market. Community service activities are created by creating educational materials and videos that are disseminated to the public directly or via social media. So that through this educational video, the public can understand it well. The activities then looked at the public's initial level of understanding of the dangers of cosmetics by conducting a pre-test. After that, the videos and materials that had been prepared were shown, and then the public's knowledge increased through the post-test. From the results of the pre-test and post-test, it was found that public understanding of the dangers of cosmetics increased by 17.1%. So it can be concluded that this service activity successfully educated the community.

Abstract

The Bangkali Fish Farmers Group (POKDAKAN) is one of the groups supported by the Fisheries Department of Baubau City in Kaisabu Baru Village, whose business has struggled to grow due to the high cost of commercial feed and the continued use of conventional farming methods. The solution is to implement self-produced feed and tilapia farming based on the biofloc system. This community service activity aims to provide knowledge to the Bangkali Fish Farmers Group about producing self-made feed and implementing tilapia farming based on the biofloc system. The methods used in this community service activity include program socialization, the implementation of self-produced feed, and the farming of tilapia using the biofloc system. The result of this activity is that the Bangkali group is now capable of producing their feed and able to apply the tilapia culture based on the biofloc system.
