Abstract

This study investigates the students’ performance on the IELTS Speaking Prediction Test among fifth-semester students of the English Education program at Universitas Bina Bangsa Getsempena. This study applied a quantitative approach, in which students participated in an IELTS Speaking Prediction Test, assessing key aspects of speaking skills, including fluency and coherence, lexical resource, grammatical range and accuracy, pronunciation, the ability to deal with questions and body language. The findings reveal that students generally performed well in fluency, pronunciation, ability to deal with questions, and body language, but show variability in lexical resource and grammatical range. The study emphasizes the importance of interaction and feedback in enhancing speaking proficiency. Additionally, the study identifies areas for improvement in vocabulary diversity and grammatical consistency, highlighting the need for targeted intensive practice and valuable feedback. The study concludes that while students possess a strong foundation in basic speaking skills, ongoing and intensive practices and the integration of self-regulated learning strategies are essential for achieving higher performance in the IELTS Speaking test

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) plays a significant role in shaping the character of medical students who have a busy academic schedule. However, conventional learning often faces problems such as lack of student interest and limited time to attend classes optimally. This suggests the need for innovative strategies that can address the needs of the digital generation. This study aims to explore the effectiveness of YouTube media as an alternative to learning PAI that is interactive, flexible, and in accordance with the needs of medical students at Abulyatama University Aceh. The researcher used a mixed-method research method involving 120 students who were divided into two groups: experimental and control. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test and supported by surveys and interviews. The experimental group was given PAI learning using YouTube video content designed according to the curriculum while the control group used conventional methods. The research data were analysed using paired sample t-test statistical test to evaluate the difference in learning outcomes between the two groups. The results showed that the experimental group experienced a significant increase in post-test scores with an average of 83.14 compared to the pre-test of 66.11, while the control group only experienced a small increase from 65.05 to 70.22. The significant difference proved that YouTube media was able to improve the understanding of PAI concepts more effectively than conventional methods. Students also stated that YouTube media provides flexibility in learning time and is more interesting than traditional learning. Thus, this study illustrates that the integration of technology in PAI learning to answer educational problems, in addition, using YouTube as a learning media can be a strategic alternative in a more effective learning process for students with busy academic schedules.

Abstract

This study examines the Christian Religious Education values in the Kaus Nono Ma Tasaeb Nono ceremony, analyzed through Paul Tillich's lens, within the community of Ius Mollo Village, North Mollo District. Employing qualitative methods with observation and interviews, the findings reveal that the ceremony embodies spiritual, social, and symbolic meanings: safeguarding households from calamities, honoring women as they adapt to their husband's extended family, and uniting spouses as one entity. Through Tillich's perspective, the Christian Religious Education transcends doctrinal teaching, becoming a transformative process that integrates intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and cultural dimensions, with culture acting as a unifying force in the community

Abstract

Literature studies show that the incidence of accidents and joint dislocations in students is still high, with 6 - 10 cases occurring at school. This continues to be a concern for schools so that the school health unit (UKS) has an important role in first aid for accidents (P3K). in schools. So efforts are needed to increase students' understanding with various educational and evaluation methods related to First Aid. The aim of the research is to look at differences in health education through the peer group method on skills regarding wound care and splints among students. This research uses a Quasy Experiment design. The sample in this study used a purposive sampling technique based on criteria with a sample size of 60 respondents divided into two groups, namely 30 intervention groups and 30 control groups. The measuring tools used are SOP Wound Care Splints and Observation Sheets. The time for conducting the research was September 10-13 2024. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro Wilk Test & Paired T Test. The results of the research in the intervention group were differences in skills regarding wound care and splints among students before and after being given health education through the peer group method at SMP N 2 Mesjid Raya with a value of p = 0.000, and in the control group there were differences in skills regarding wound care and splints. Students at PKPU Aceh Middle School with a value of p = 0.000. The conclusion in this study is that there is a comparison between the intervention group and the control group regarding skills regarding wound care and splints in students with a value of p = 0.043. It is hoped that the School Health Unit and Community Health Center can provide health education to students through collaboration on various first aid cases.

Abstract

The phenomenon in the field shows that the learning process is not effective because students often feel bored and do not follow Pancasila education lessons. Wordwall-based media is one type of media that can be used to produce effective learning. The method in this research is a qualitative approach with descriptive research type. The research subjects were 34 class IV students at SD Negeri 32 Banda Aceh. The instruments used include student learning activity observation sheets, test sheets, and questionnaires to measure student responses. The research results showed that: 1) students' learning activities reached 89.2% with the criteria "very good"; 2) the use of this media is effective, with 97% of students declared "complete" based on an average score of 94; 3) students' responses to Wordwall media averaged 30.3 in the "positive" category. Thus, the use of Wordwall-based media is effective in learning Pancasila Education

Abstract

Human resources (HR) are the most valuable assets in an organization, including in the education sector. Effective Human Resource Management can support the achievement of educational goals, both short and long term goals. Management within the school environment must involve important elements, namely educators and educational staff so that it can be ensured that there are competent, motivated and in line with the vision and mission of the institution. By using a literature review method, this journal aims to explore the concepts and practices of Human Resource Management in the school environment, as well as identifying Human Resource management efforts that can help educational institutions achieve their goals. The discussion will cover key aspects of Human Resources Management such as developing the competence of teaching staff, establishing a conducive work culture, implementing technology in managing human resources, and improving the welfare of Human Resources. It is hoped that this journal can provide insight and recommendations for educational practitioners in managing Human Resources in the school environment strategically.

Abstract

This study investigated Indonesian teachers' perceptions of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) implementation at Fatih Bilingual School Banda Aceh. Guided by Vygotsky's zone of proximal development theory, the research employed a mixed-methods approach, combining case study and interview techniques. Data were collected from eight teachers who taught subjects in English, with two teachers selected for in-depth interviews. Findings revealed positive perceptions of CLIL among teachers, who reported improvements in both students' language and content knowledge. Despite limited prior knowledge of CLIL, teachers expressed enthusiasm for its potential to enhance learning. However, challenges emerged, particularly in working with English beginner students and managing the demands of teaching both content and language simultaneously. The study's implications for CLIL implementation in Indonesian schools include the need for ongoing professional development and support for teachers, as well as the importance of carefully considering the language proficiency levels of students. Future research could explore the long-term effects of CLIL on student outcomes and investigate its effectiveness in different educational contexts

Abstract

Students' learning motivation is very important in the learning process because it is one of the factors that determines whether students can achieve achievements. One way to keep students' learning motivation good in learning is by using learning media in the learning process. This research aims to find out how Pancasila and Citizenship Education subject teachers apply the Quizizz application as a learning medium in the learning process as an effort to increase students' learning motivation. This research is a case study research using a qualitative approach carried out at SMA Negeri 14 Medan. The results of this research show that the application of the Quizizz application as a learning medium by Civics subject teachers has gone very well, where all students can understand well the procedures for using Quizizz. Using Quizizz can also facilitate better learning through its interactive and competitive features, such as interesting online quizzes, automatic leaderboards, immediate feedback, and game elements that can motivate students to participate actively

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of students who are unprepared for learning, late attendance, permission, truancy, activeness in learning, enthusiasm for learning, attention to learning, and interest in learning. The aim of this research is to describe the learning interest profile of students in class VIII SMP N 1 Lembang Jaya seen from the aspects: 1) Feelings of pleasure, 2) Interest, 3) Attention in Learning, and 4) Involvement. This research was conducted using quantitative descriptive methods. The research population was 96 students selected using total sampling technique. The instrument used is a questionnaire. The number of valid questionnaire statements after the trial was 50 items. The data analysis reveals an average percentage of (60,41%) across all aspects, indicating a high category. The results of research on the profile of students' interest in learning in class VIII SMP N 1 Lembang Jaya are seen from the aspects: 1) Feelings of pleasure are in the medium category 2) Interest is in the high category, 3) Attention in learning is in the high category, 4) Engagement is in the high category. Based on the results of this research, it is recommended for guidance and counseling teachers to provide services such as utilizing group guidance and group counseling services, or classical services that are in accordance with what is needed regarding learning interests, then subject teachers are recommended to use a variety of learning methods, for students who have the criteria can increase interest in learning and for future researchers to create an effective guidance service model.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the cognitive learning theories proposed by Jean Piaget, Jerome Bruner, Robert Gagné, and David Ausubel, as well as their implications in elementary school mathematics education. The subjects of this research are 4th-grade elementary school students at SDIT AL-IMAN Bojongsari Depok, Indonesia. The research instruments used include literature documentation, interviews, questionnaires, and observations. The research data were analyzed using thematic analysis methods to identify patterns and main themes that emerged from the qualitative data. Data triangulation was conducted by combining results from various research instruments to validate the findings. The results of the analysis show that the application of these cognitive theories can enhance students' understanding of mathematical concepts, problem-solving skills, and learning motivation. Cognitive learning theories in elementary school mathematics education have significant implications for both teachers and students. By applying these theories, mathematics education in elementary schools can become more meaningful, effective, and enjoyable for students. This will help students develop their thinking skills and prepare them to face future challenges
