Abstract

Legal protection for children who are victims of online sexual exploitation (online Child Sexual, Exploitation and Abuse or OCSEA) is an important issue in efforts to safeguard children's rights and welfare in the current era of digitalization. In an effort to overcome this problem, it is necessary to carry out community service by providing counseling for victims of child exploitation cases in the Medan Amplas District of Medan. This community service aims to provide understanding to the community about the importance of joint prevention efforts carried out by parents and teachers regarding the positive and negative impacts of the internet on children. The methodology involves a number of activities with a focus on outreach, training and campaigns to increase public awareness in collaboration with commissions and related institutions. The team also provides educational materials for using the internet to avoid negative risks which can be accessed by the public for free. The result of this community service is increased public awareness, namely the importance of parental and teacher supervision in optimizing internet use properly. Providing legal information related to crimes of sexual exploitation of children online. In conclusion, this community service is a proactive step in dealing with the serious problem of sexual exploitation crimes involving children online. By conducting this activity and the collaboration of several parties, it can jointly protect the younger generation from current technological advances.

Abstract

Online loans are proof of the progress of financial technology (fintech). This is because this type of loan can be obtained through online platforms without the need to visit a physical bank or traditional financial institution. Online loans have become popular because of their ease and convenience. Prospective customers simply fill out the form online while carrying out the verification process, then apply for credit according to the amount of funds required. Customers will receive loan funds after the disbursement or approval process. In the context of online loan default, default is an action that violates the obligations in the agreement between the borrower and the loan provider. In other words, when the borrower does not fulfill or neglects to carry out the obligation to repay the loan in accordance with the agreed terms. The aim of this service activity is to provide understanding to the people living in the Teladan Barat sub-district, Kec. Medan City, the majority of whom work as online traders and drivers, to utilize online loans wisely and ensure that the loans are for productive purposes. From this outreach, people are starting to understand what default is and the legal consequences so that in the future there will be no more cases of online loan defaults.

Abstract

The development of information technology has had a significant impact on daily life, especially for the younger generation. This research aims to explore effective legal education methods in dealing with developments in information technology and the impact of social media abuse on the younger generation. Research methods involve surveys, interviews, and documentation analysis. The survey was conducted among the students in Taman Siswa school to identify their understanding of laws related to information technology and social media. Interviews were conducted with legal experts and educators to identify effective educational methods. Document analysis involves searching for relevant laws and regulations. The research results show that most of the younger generation have a limited understanding of the laws related to information technology and social media. Effective educational methods involve the use of case studies, simulations, and interactive discussions. As a result, the younger generation who take part in this educational program are better able to understand the legal implications of using information technology and social media. In addition, the government and educational institutions need to improve legal education and integrate it into the educational curriculum to provide better knowledge of laws related to information technology to the younger generation. Increasing understanding of the law can help the younger generation make wiser decisions in the use of information technology and social media, and reduce the risk of breaking the law.

Abstract

Public speaking is a skill that everyone, including students, should have to increase their self-confidence. Public speaking cannot be avoided since basically humans often have to do it with various purposes. However, many students feel unable to speak in public because they lack confidence, don't master the material, or don't understand how to do it. This community service activity aims to do learning assistance for public speaking to increase the self-confidence of students at Gajah Mada Middle School, Medan. The methods used were direct lecturer, simulations and interactive discussions regarding the basics of public speaking, effective and good communication techniques, and various tips for developing yourself, especially in terms of public speaking. During the learning assistance, participants received basic material and public speaking techniques as well as direct practice. Meanwhile, the research used qualitative method for collecting data. As for the research results, the community service recommends the following: 1) Add extra hours to improve students™ English speaking, 2) Add contest that can motivate students to increase their confidence in public speaking, especially in English language.

Abstract

This research is entitled "the influence of english learning animation media on second grade students at state elementary school 122371 Pematangsiantar". This research is motivated by the researcher's thinking that animation media is suitable for use by 2nd grade elementary school children. Children's interest in animation media lies in the audio-visuals displayed in animation media. This study aims to evaluate the effect of learning media on the English language skills of grade 2 elementary school students. With the development of technology and increasingly innovative teaching methods, learning media such as animated videos, interactive applications and educational games have been widely used in the language learning process. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, involving two groups of 2nd grade elementary school students as research samples. The experimental group was given English language learning using interactive media, while the control group was given conventional learning without additional media. The results showed that students who learned with the help of interactive media showed significant improvements in listening, speaking, reading and writing skills compared to the control group. These findings indicate that the use of interactive learning media can have a positive impact on English language learning at the primary education level. The implications of this research suggest that educators consider integrating learning media in the curriculum to increase teaching effectiveness and student learning motivation.

Abstract

Current technological developments in the world of education are very significant because the world of education must be able to adapt to technological changes in order to improve the quality of education. Global demands also require the world of education to always adapt to technological developments to improve the quality of education (Reka et al, 2022). The quality of education really depends on the quality of the teacher and his learning methods. Learning media can be interpreted as a tool in the teaching and learning process. Apart from that, learning media also includes everything that is used to stimulate thoughts, feelings, attention, and abilities or skills, so that it can encourage the learning process. One digital learning media that can improve the quality of learning is the use of Canva Magic Al. Canva Magic Al is a graphic design platform that allows users to create graphics, presentations, posters, logos, documents and other social media visual content. This platform is available on web and mobile, and integrates millions of images, fonts, templates, and illustrations. In this community service activity, the Canva Magic Al application was chosen as a tool that will be used by teachers to create attractive presentation designs for teaching materials. Canva Magic Al is an application that is popular in the world of technology to make teaching materials that are more creative and can also be used as teaching media.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kemitraan masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk melakukan pendampingan kepada mitra dengan memanfaatkan buah nanas sebagai bahan fermentasi untuk memperbaiki mutu aroma dan cita rasa kopi. Hal ini dilakukan berdasarkan hasil observasi awal yang dilakukan oleh tim pengusul yaitu : 1) Proses pengeringan kopi yang tidak seragam, dan 2) Mutu aroma dan cita rasa yang masih kurang bagus. Penyebabnya karena bahan kopi robusta yang dibeli ke petani memiliki tingkat mutu yang berbeda. Dampaknya, harga kopi menjadi rendah. Mitra PKM ini adalah Usaha Pucako Roastery di Kelurahan Amplas, Kota Medan. Metode pelaksanaan PKM ini dilakukan melalui dua tahapan utama yaitu: 1) Pembuatan bubur buah nanas, dan 2) Fermentase kopi menggunakan bubur nanas. Melalui PKM ini diharapkan terjadi perbaikan mutu aroma dan cita rasa kopi serta dapat meningkatkan penjualan mitra. Adanya enzim bromelin pada bubur nanas akan dapat menurunkan kadar kafein karena enzim ini mampu memecahkan senyawa yang mirip protein pada kopi.

Abstract

The aim of this community service activity is to implement one of the tridharmas of higher education, and help manage the Namu Sira-Sira natural bathing tourist attraction, Durian Lingga Village, Sei Bingei District, Langkat Regency. The main problem faced by partners is that in managing this tourist attraction, there is no financial management, no cleanliness management of the tourist location, no banner plan for the tourist location. The output in this activity is 1). Managers have the ability to create simple financial reports 2). Availability of good and appropriate hygiene management and hygiene advice. 3). Articles published in online ISSN journals. 4). There are social media accounts that managers use to market tourist attractions. This activity was carried out in Durian Lingga Village, Sei Bingei District, Langkat Regency.  This location is 55 km from Medan State University, a distance of 1 hour. This location was chosen because of the excellent tourism potential that can be developed for recreational sports, and can provide income for the surrounding community.

Abstract

Outbound is an outdoor activity. Outbound can also stimulate enthusiasm for learning. Outbound is a means of increasing knowledge gained from a series of adventurous experiences so that it can stimulate the enthusiasm and creativity of students. Out bound is considered necessary for the development of a systematic and sustainable model for student development. Through the community partnership program which will be implemented at the Pondok Pesantren Al-Uswah, it is aimed at providing knowledge about learning models that can develop the character of students through out bound training as well as making the available out bound facilities a source of income for the Pondok Pesantren. This activity aims to: 1) increase partners' knowledge about out bound training which is useful in building the character of students. 2) provide out bound facilities for partner Pondok Pesantren, 3), train partners to be able to use and create out bound programs independently. 4) make the out training program a new business for partners. Outbound training activities carried out at the Pondok Pesantren Al-Uswah have produced 20 instructors who can carry out outbound activities well in accordance with standard procedures for implementing outbound activities. This activity has also produced outbound equipment which can be used as a means to carry out outbound activities for students and other general public.

Abstract

Aisyiyah ialah salah satu organisasi perempuan Muslim terbesar di Indonesia. Dengan mengambil hal yang sesuai, rata-rata ibu-ibu yang mengikuti Aisyiyah adalah ibu rumah tangga. Dengan menggunakan sistem semai dan juga menggunakan pupuk organik cair, mampu membuat seluruh warga yang ikut dapat memahaminya dengan mudah. Metode yang dilakukan ialah dengan langsung terjun ke lapangan untuk memberikan pengarahan secara lansgung kepada warga yang datang. Memberikan penjelasan detail bagaimana cara melakukan sistem semai kangkung darat dengan mudah. Hasil yang didapat ialah dengan memberikan eduikasi cara penyemaian yang sesuai dan kapan benih bisa ditanam di tanah secara langsung, sebelum itu direndam dahulu dengan menggunakan pupuk organik cair merek Basill Nigr. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penyuluhan secara langsung seperti ini dapat dilakukan dengan semaksimal mungkin untuk membuat para warga mampu memahami dan juga bertanya secara langsung apabila ada hal yang tidak dapat dipahami.
