Abstract

Breast milk is an important nutrient for infant growth. Breast milk is given to infants during the first 6 months of life without any additional food intake. The benefits of breastfeeding include nutrition, increasing intelligence and increasing the bond of affection. Loving touch baby massage is a massage technique for infants that causes the baby to be more relaxed and can rest effectively so that when the baby wakes up it will bring enough energy to be active. Babies become hungry quickly when they are optimally active, so their appetite increases. Quasy experimental research method, with a design (Two Group). In this design there are groups that are compared (control and intervention) The results of this study in the intervention group infants during the pretest were the majority <8 times breastfeeding a day, namely 13 respondents (81.3%), while at the posttest the majority breastfed ≥ 8 times a day, namely 14 respondents (87.5%). in the control group infants during the pretest the majority <8 times breastfeeding a day, namely 13 respondents (81.3%), while at the posttest the most breastfed ≥ 8 times a day, namely 4 respondents (25.0%). Statistical Test using Mann-Whitney U Test. There is a Pvalue of 0.000 <0.05 which means there is a difference between the frequency of the control and intervention groups. This shows that there is an increase in the frequency of breastfeeding in infants with the Mann-Whitney U Test. Where in the intervention group there is an increase in the frequency of breastfeeding.

Abstract

Introduction:Labor pain can affect maternal physiology by increasing blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and muscle tension, which may interfere with concentration during childbirth. The rebozo technique is a non-pharmacological method used to reduce labor pain, yet its implementation in midwifery education remains limited. Methods: This quasi-experimental study employed a two-group pretest-posttest control design, involving 76 seventh-semester midwifery students randomly assigned to either an intervention group (n = 38), which used D’ Multikom interactive multimedia, or a control group (n = 38), which used a conventional practical guidebook. Skills were assessed before and after the intervention using a checklist. The Mann-Whitney test was used for data analysis, and effectiveness was evaluated using the WebQual 4.0 instrument. Results:The results showed a statistically significant improvement in rebozo technique skills in the intervention group compared to the control group (p = 0.001). The effectiveness score of D’ Multikom reached 89.84%, categorized as highly effective. Conclusion: D’ Multikom is more effective than traditional guidebooks in improving midwifery students’ practical skills in the rebozo technique and is recommended as an innovative learning tool in midwifery education.

Abstract

Introduction Infants frequently experience sleep disturbances, such as sleeping for less than 8 hours and waking up three times during the night, each time staying awake for more than an hour. One approach to address sleep problems in infants is baby massage. Baby massage is a non-pharmacological method used to manage sleep disorders in infants. An effective stimulus to help infants sleep more soundly is massage combined with the use of aromatherapy. Aromatherapy works by dispersing fragrant molecules into the air and stimulating the central nervous system, which helps the infant fall asleep more easily. Objective This study aims to determine the effect of baby massage using lavender aromatherapy oil on the sleep quality of infants aged 6–9 months. Method This research employed a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pre-test and post-test design. The sample consisted of 30 infants aged 6–9 months who were experiencing sleep disturbances. Data were collected through observation and questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. Results The results showed that baby massage using lavender aromatherapy oil in infants aged 6–9 months had a significant effect on improving sleep quality, with a p-value of 0.000. Conclusion It can be concluded that baby massage using lavender aromatherapy oil in infants aged 6–9 months positively affects the quality of infant sleep

Abstract

The incidence of anemia in pregnant women in Indonesia is still quite high. Approximately 95% of anemia cases are caused by iron deficiency. During pregnancy, anemia ranks second among causes of maternal mortality, at around 12.8%, after postpartum hemorrhage. One effective strategy to overcome anemia during pregnancy is to consume 90 Fe tablets continuously. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of consuming PATAKE nuggets consisting of catfish, tofu, and moringa leaves on increasing hemoglobin levels in pregnant women. This type of research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design - two groups pretest and posttest. The collected data consisted of primary data, namely the assessment of hemoglobin levels of pregnant women and secondary data obtained from KIA books and medical records. This study consisted of 50 respondents and were divided into two groups: a control group of 25 respondents who were only given Fe tablets and an intervention group consisting of 25 respondents who were given PATAKE nuggets, each given for 14 days and then evaluated. Statistical analysis used t-dependent and t-independent. The average hemoglobin level in the control group before the intervention was 9.36 gr/dL, increasing to 11.6 gr/dL after the intervention. Meanwhile, during the pretest, the hemoglobin level in the intervention group was 9.36 gr/dL, then increased to 12.0 gr/dL during the posttest. Iron supplements and PATAKE nuggets had a significant impact on increasing hemoglobin levels in both groups, with a p value = 0.000 (<α0.05). Meanwhile, the results of the independent t-test comparing the control and intervention groups during the posttest showed a p value = 0.002 (<α0.05), indicating a difference in the average hemoglobin levels between the control and intervention groups. The results of this study are expected to be food commodification for daily menu variations accompanying Fe tablets

Abstract

Early breastfeeding is highly recommended because it provides many health benefits for both mother and baby. From birth, babies are equipped with life reflexes to sustain their lives. Within the first hour, babies will learn to breastfeed or get used to sucking on the nipple, preparing the mother to start producing colostrum. Unrestricted access to mother-baby bonding and unlimited breastfeeding frequency in the first few days after delivery are crucial for ensuring adequate breast milk supply for the baby. Exclusive breastfeeding coverage in Indonesia is still at 54.3%, while the target for 2024 is 80%. In North Sumatra, exclusive breastfeeding coverage in 2024 is still at 66.42%. This study is a quasi-experimental quantitative study using a case-control approach, which aims to test the effectiveness of a coconut milk breast milk booster mixed with Brastagi orange, which is a local food product from North Sumatra. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between the administration of coconut sap mixed with Brastagi orange breast milk booster and the application of the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (LAM) on increasing breast milk production in postpartum mothers. The Chi-square test shows a value of p = 0.013, which means that the relationship between the intervention and breast milk production is statistically significant (p < 0.05). The Odds Ratio (OR) value of 0.10 indicates that postpartum mothers who were given the coconut sap mixed with Brastagi orange booster had a lower risk of low breast milk production compared to those who did not receive the booster.

Abstract

Obesity among toddlers is an increasing global health problem, including in Indonesia. The prevalence of overweight in early childhood has risen from 5.6% in 2018 to 6.1% in 2022. This increase has important implications for young children, particularly by raising the risk of cognitive, language, and behavioral developmental disorders, which may affect school readiness and long-term growth and development. South Jakarta has been identified as the area with the highest prevalence of overweight toddlers (7%), exceeding East Jakarta, North Jakarta, and Central Jakarta, highlighting the need to investigate underlying vulnerability factors. This study aimed to analyze the determinants of overweight among toddlers at the Pediatric Clinic of Aulia General Hospital, South Jakarta, in 2025. A mixed-methods approach with a sequential explanatory design was applied. The quantitative phase employed a cross-sectional design involving 137 mother–toddler pairs aged ≥1–≤5 years, selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using chi-square tests and multiple logistic regression. The qualitative phase consisted of in-depth interviews with eight key informants selected through snowball sampling and analyzed thematically using source triangulation. The findings showed that carbohydrate and fat intake, eating frequency, portion size, maternal knowledge, family history of obesity, socioeconomic status, and physical activity were significantly associated with the risk of obesity among toddlers (p < 0.05). Multivariate analysis identified family history of obesity as the dominant factor (Beta = 0.373). In conclusion, toddler obesity is mainly influenced by dietary patterns and physical activity, emphasizing the importance of balanced nutrition education and early promotion of physical activity as preventive strategies

Abstract

West Java Health Office in 2024 recorded 749 cases of maternal deaths, with Bekasi Regency reporting 46 cases. One of the efforts to reduce AKI is to improve the quality of integrated antenatal care (ANC) services through the implementation of the 10T pregnancy examination standard. This study aims to analyze the influence of education in pregnant women's classes on increasing knowledge about the 10T ANC examination. The research uses a quasi-experimental design with a one group pretest–posttest approach. The research sample was 30 pregnant women taken by total sampling technique. The intervention was in the form of health education using video media, while knowledge measurement was carried out through questionnaires. The data collection will be carried out in July 2025 in Mangunjaya Village, Bekasi Regency. Data analysis used frequency distribution and Wilcoxon test. The results showed that as many as 25 respondents (83.3%) experienced an increase in knowledge after being given education, with a mean rank value of 16.38. The Wilcoxon test showed a value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05), which indicates a significant influence of education on pregnant women's knowledge about the 10T ANC examination. Classroom education for pregnant women has been shown to be effective in increasing knowledge, which is expected to support healthy behaviors during pregnancy, increase awareness of red flags, and reduce the risk of complications. It is necessary to strengthen health education in a sustainable manner by health workers to improve the quality of ANC services

Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is one of the most common gynecological problems experienced by adolescents, which can interfere with daily activities, learning concentration, and overall quality of life. In Indonesia, the prevalence of dysmenorrhea reaches 64.25%, with a high proportion among high school students. Pharmacological therapy is often used, but long-term use carries the risk of side effects. Therefore, complementary approaches such as acupressure and relaxation techniques are promising alternatives. This study aimed to determine the effect of combining acupressure at Hegu (LI4) and Qi Hai (CV6) points with deep breathing exercises on the level of dysmenorrhea pain among adolescent girls. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 58 female students from SMAN 1 Rancaekek were selected using a total sampling technique. The intervention consisted of applying acupressure at LI4 and CV6 points for 5 minutes each, combined with deep breathing exercises, performed twice daily during the first two days of menstruation. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), and data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed a significant reduction in pain (p < 0.001). Before the intervention, most respondents experienced moderate pain (69%), whereas after the intervention, the majority reported mild pain (62.1%) and some experienced no pain (29.3%). This study recommends integrating acupressure and deep breathing into school-based reproductive health programs as a safe, simple, and effective complementary therapy for managing dysmenorrhea among adolescents

Abstract

Stunting is still a chronic nutrition problem in Indonesia, with a national prevalence of 21.5% which still exceeds the WHO threshold (20%), especially in rural areas[1]. Posyandu cadres play an important role in early detection and public education related to stunting prevention. However, the limitations of manual recording and tools are often an obstacle to the effectiveness of the service. This research aims to develop an integrated Digital Posyandu (Web-Based) system to support child health recording and increase cadre capacity in growth screening and nutrition education. The research method uses Research and Development (R&D) with a waterfall system development model and blackbox testing to assess the feasibility of the system. The research population consisted of 90 Posyandu cadres who were given a questionnaire on a Likert scale. The results showed that the level of knowledge of cadres about stunting education was mostly sufficient (83%) and good (10.9%), while knowledge was lacking by 3.3%. Cadres' knowledge of stunting screening is also quite high, which is 82.6% of the adequate category. Cadre perception of the use of the Posyandu digital web showed that 56.7% considered the system useful and 60% considered it easy to use. This system is able to assist cadres in recording growth data, analyzing nutritional status, and digital-based education. It is suggested that the Digital Posyandu be further developed to be applied directly and can be integrated with the national health system
