Abstract

Teachers who still do not have pedagogical competence are not able to create good learning conditions and cannot condition students' learning methods to be effective and successful due to teachers' literacy culture and limited ability to manage learning. The aim of this research was to determine the influence of literacy culture on the pedagogical competence of high school/vocational school level Buddhist teachers in Indonesia. This research uses quantitative research methods. This researcher used a survey approach with a sample of 37 high school/vocational school teachers in various regions in Indonesia via Google form. The results of this research are that literacy culture influences teacher pedagogical competence. This is proven by the regression coefficient value of the literacy culture variable (t calculated) which is 2.835 compared to the t table of 2.059, the significance of the literacy culture variable on the related variable, namely teacher pedagogical competence, is 0.009 or smaller than the error threshold value of 0.05.

Abstract

The objective of the present investigation was to examine the pronunciation errors made by students while reading Arabic text. The study aimed to identify the common pronunciation errors and investigate the underlying causes of these mistakes. The research methodology involved administering reading tests and audio recordings to 20 seventh-grade students (10 male and 10 female) from SMPIT Ihsanul Fikri Mungkid. The collected data was then subjected to qualitative analysis. The study's findings revealed that the students made a variety of pronunciation errors while reading Arabic text, including mispronunciations of vocals, consonants, double consonants, and diphthongs. The analysis also identified a few typical causes of these pronunciation errors. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of addressing pronunciation issues in the context of learning Arabic. The research findings can guide teachers in developing targeted interventions to improve students' Arabic pronunciation, thereby enhancing their overall proficiency through frequent practice and specialized interventions.

Abstract

The results will be used as a basis for reflection when creating the most recent education management policies, which will support efforts to preserve education through high-quality management of education. In accordance with the guidelines set forth by the Education Commission of the Indonesian Bishops' Conference, four benchmark standards from 13 Catholic education standards and benchmarks and four assessment dimensions are taken into consideration when determining the vision and mission dimensions. This kind of study is known as explanatory study. With a research population of 77 school units, data was gathered using a qualitative and quantitative approach. Five respondents from each of the school representatives made up the total of 385 respondents, which included principals, teachers, and staff members as well as eight supporting respondents who were parish priests, student parents, alumni, and alumni parents, as well as education observers. The study's findings showed that the benchmark standards' influence on raising school quality in the vision and mission domains of education management was 2.29, or in the good category (B). This indicates that the people who designed and implemented school instruction paid close attention to the original idea of using Catholic schools to spread Christian principles across the church. The school has done a good job of preserving its identity as a Christian school. To achieve the goal of becoming a top-notch institution, however, changes must be made to maximize this initial orientation.

There were three research objectives focused in this study: (1) the influence of local culture-based pictorial narrative texts on students' reading comprehension; (2) the correlation between students' perceptions of integrating local culture into the development of reading materials and students' reading comprehension; and (3) the difference of problems faced by students in understanding pictorial narrative texts in terms of purpose of the story, characters in the story, orientation, complications, and resolution of the story. The results showed that local culture-based pictorial narratives had a significant effect on students' reading comprehension, and were positively correlated to each other. In addition, students do not have discrepancy in terms of problems encountered when understanding the narratives such as the purpose of the story, characters in the story, orientation, complication, and resolution of the story.
