Abstract

Financial management in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) often faces complex challenges, such as weak accountability systems and the potential for fund misuse. Therefore, technological innovation is needed to create more effective, efficient, and transparent financial governance. The CARDS application emerges as a solution—a digital financial management information system integrated within pesantren. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method at two pesantren: Az Zahra Al Gontory and Al-Qur’an Al Yusufiyah. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and document analysis involving administrators, application admins, developers, students, and student guardians. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, with validity tested through triangulation, member checks, and audit trails. The findings show that the CARDS application positively impacts pesantren financial management by improving the efficiency of record-keeping, accelerating reporting, simplifying daily financial control, and providing real-time data access. From the user perception perspective, the application is considered easy to use due to its simple interface design, practical operation, and minimal technical issues thanks to developer support. Overall, the implementation of this application supports the principles of Good Financial Governance by strengthening transparency, accountability, and active participation, thereby promoting a professional, modern, and digitally relevant financial management system in pesantren. Abstract

This study aims to describe the innovation in managing project-based Biology learning at SMA Islam Al Azhar 14 Semarang. Innovation in learning is essential to enhance student engagement, critical thinking skills, and deep conceptual understanding, particularly in Biology, which combines theoretical and practical components. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through classroom observations, in-depth interviews with Biology teachers and students, and documentation of learning activities. The results indicate that the implementation of project-based learning is integrated with Islamic values through project themes related to environmental issues and Islamic teachings. The innovations include collaborative project planning, effective management of time and learning resources, and portfolio-based assessment. The main challenges faced are limited instructional time within the curriculum and students' readiness for independent work. However, through adaptive approaches and strong school support, these challenges can be mitigated. This innovation has proven to increase student motivation and strengthen 21st-century skills. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for teachers in developing contextual, active, and meaningful Biology learning strategies in Islamic-based schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of digital learning policies and professional learning communities (PLC) on the quality of education, with teacher performance as a mediating variable. The research method used is quantitative with the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) approach. Data was collected through questionnaires from teachers at various levels of education and analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results of the study show that digital learning policies and PLC have a significant effect on teacher performance and directly on the quality of education. In addition, teacher performance has proven to be a significant mediating variable in the relationship between digital policy and PLC on the quality of education. The structural model built has high explainability, with an R² of 0.844 for education quality and 0.762 for teacher performance. These findings affirm the importance of digital policy integration and strengthening PLC in improving the quality of education through the central role of teachers. The recommendations are directed at strengthening digital literacy, facilitating teacher professional collaboration, and improving the technology-based learning evaluation system.

Abstract

Literasi dasar mencakup keterampilan membaca, menulis, berbicara, menyimak, serta pemanfaatan teknologi, dan menjadi fondasi penting bagi perkembangan peserta didik. Di era digital, rendahnya minat literasi di Indonesia menimbulkan tantangan serius karena berdampak pada lemahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis, logis, dan pemecahan masalah. Data Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) 2018 dan UNESCO menunjukkan bahwa Indonesia masih menempati peringkat rendah dalam literasi global, dipengaruhi keterbatasan sarana perpustakaan, rendahnya ketersediaan tenaga pustakawan, serta penetrasi teknologi yang belum diimbangi literasi informasi. Pemerintah telah meluncurkan Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS), namun implementasinya di banyak sekolah belum optimal. Sekolah Dasar Negeri 1 Gandurejo di Temanggung, misalnya, memperoleh skor literasi 53,33% pada Rapor Pendidikan 2023, yang menunjukkan masih lemahnya kemampuan literasi siswa. Faktor utama penghambatnya meliputi keterbatasan fasilitas, kurangnya pengelola perpustakaan, dan minimnya pembiasaan membaca. Sebagai solusi, sekolah menginisiasi program inovatif Kebuli (Kegiatan Budaya Literasi) melalui berbagai aktivitas, antara lain pembuatan pojok baca, pengkaderan pustakawan cilik, papan kreasi siswa, pohon literasi, pelabelan pohon, dan kegiatan storytelling. Program ini bertujuan membangun lingkungan literasi yang menarik, integratif, dan berkelanjutan, sekaligus mendukung tujuan pendidikan nasional dalam mengembangkan potensi anak secara holistik melalui pembiasaan literasi.

Abstract

Character education based on school culture is believed to have great potential in shaping students' positive character. Therefore, a clear description is needed in its implementation. This study aims to describe the implementation of character education based on school culture at SMP Negeri 1 Pabelan. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the planning of character education based on school culture at SMP Negeri 1 Pabelan is implemented through a special team (PPK team). The planning of priority character values is elaborated from the school's vision, mission, and goals. In 2025, it focuses more on critical, creative, and independent thinking. The implementation of Character Education uses a habituation model and role models in routine, spontaneous, and programmed activities. Character values are integrated into the learning process in the classroom. Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are explicitly designed to develop student character (especially activities related to local culture). Evaluation is carried out focusing on aspects of values, changes in student behavior, and teacher involvement. The evaluation results are analyzed and used as feedback for program improvement. The research recommendations are provided to schools to ensure they can sustainably maintain and strengthen positive values in character education. The Department of Education is expected to provide support for the development of character education resources.

Abstract

Dadapayam 02 Public Elementary School received the BOS Performance Award for two consecutive years despite its suboptimal accreditation. This was due to the school's improved performance, demonstrated by its improved educational report card scores. Based on this, a study was conducted to describe educational financing planning to improve the quality of elementary schools. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Participants in this study were the principal, vice principal, BOS treasurer, teachers, and school committee representatives. The results showed that financing planning at Dadapayam 2 Public Elementary School had been carried out through the stages of needs analysis, priority setting, and budget preparation. However, several challenges arose, such as limited BOS funds as the primary source and the lack of active participation from external parties. Nevertheless, the school successfully prioritized improving teacher competency, followed by improving infrastructure and developing curriculum and extracurricular programs. The conclusion of this study is that structured financing planning can significantly improve the quality of education at Dadapayam 02 Public Elementary School, especially when the budget is allocated to programs that directly impact the quality of teaching and learning. Suggestions for further research are to develop a more innovative and effective funding source diversification model..

Abstract

The teacher certification policy is one of the government’s key strategies to improve national education quality by strengthening the role of teachers as professionals. Certification is regarded as a continuous professional development instrument that not only enhances teacher capacity but also serves as recognition of the teaching profession. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of teacher certification in improving learning quality, by examining whether the policy genuinely contributes to teacher professionalism or merely emphasizes administrative compliance. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed through literature review, policy analysis, and limited interviews with teachers and principals. The findings indicate that certification has positive impacts on teacher welfare and formal recognition of the profession, yet it has not significantly contributed to changes in pedagogy or classroom learning quality. Teachers’ motivation tends to be driven by financial incentives rather than professional competence development, while increasing administrative burdens often reduce their focus on teaching. The gap between normative policy objectives and actual practice suggests that certification has not fully functioned as a catalyst for improving learning outcomes. Policy implications highlighted in this study emphasize the need for flexible implementation, including affirmative schemes or special treatment for teachers in disadvantaged regions, to ensure equitable professional development across Indonesia.

Abstract

Quality education requires the support of effective school management, particularly through the principal's managerial competence in managing facilities and infrastructure. Well-planned facilities and infrastructure are believed to create a conducive learning environment that influences the quality of learning. This study aims to explore the role of principals' managerial competence in planning, organizing, and supervising educational facilities and infrastructure in Islamic Elementary Schools (Madrasah Ibtidaiyah) as an effort to improve the quality of education. The method used was a qualitative case study approach at MI Attamam and MI Daarul Ilmi in Tangerang Regency, Banten. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed thematically. The results show that principals play a central role in ensuring the availability, utilization, and maintenance of facilities and infrastructure. Constraints such as budget limitations and school community participation were overcome through collaborative strategies, innovation, and a participatory management system. The novelty of this research lies in mapping the principals' managerial strategies in two madrasas with different conditions, as well as the direct link between infrastructure management and non-academic learning quality indicators. Practically, this research provides an alternative model for infrastructure management that is adaptive and applicable to madrasas. Theoretically, this research enriches the study of Islamic education management by emphasizing the principal's role as an innovator and driver of infrastructure-based educational quality.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) know the planning of field work practices 2) organize field work practices 3) implement field work practices 4) evaluate field work practices at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Ponjong. This research is a qualitative research. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation and documentation study. The data analysis technique used qualitative descriptive analysis including data collection, data reduction, data display and data verification. The results of this study: (1) planning of field work practices at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Ponjong has been carried out well, such as in the activity planning stages, namely mapping KD taught in industry, mapping industry to determining industry, compiling field work practice programs, providing administration, conducting socialization and provision (2) organizing field work practices has been carried out well, namely the formation of field work practice working groups, the determination of supervisors, the placement of students in the industry. (3) the implementation has been carried out well including the stage of releasing students from field work practices, submitting students to field work practices, implementation, monitoring by the supervisor and submitting the results of activities 4) Evaluation has been carried out well including the stage of the student assessment process, analyzing student reports , and analysis of input from supervisors in the industry to determine student and industry satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Industrial Class Effectiveness, Teacher Professionalism and Work Interests together on Work Readiness of State Vocational School Students in Kebumen Regency, and to determine the effect of Industrial Class Effectiveness, Teacher Professionals and Work Interests individually on Work Readiness. Students of State Vocational Schools in Kebumen Regency. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Kebumen, SMK Negeri 1 Karanganyar, and SMK Negeri 1 Ambal. The research period was November 2020 to January 2021. This research used a correlational quantitative approach with a population of 108 students. The sample was determined as many as 85 students who were taken using the cluster random sampling method. The data analysis included descriptive analysis, data analysis prerequisite test analysis and hypothesis testing. The results of this study indicate that the work readiness variable is influenced by the industrial class effectiveness variable by 30.7%, the professional teacher variable by 16% and the work interest variable by 35.8% and of the three variables together is 82.5% so that there are 17.5% other factors that can affect job readiness but not examined in this study. Therefore, it is hoped that in further research, other factors can be found that can affect student work readiness.
