Abstract

The phenomenon regarding Childfree has now become a Viral and Trending Topic on social media. Childfree itself is a decision for married couples who decide not to have children in their household. This decision is being widely discussed so that when this issue is broadcast on television media it has the opportunity to get high ratings. This research aims to analyze editorial in commodifying the content (commodification of content) of an event into an interesting show that is worth broadcasting and worth selling to produce a profit for the company. This research method uses a qualitative approach, with a constructivist paradigm and uses data collection methods through observation. The findings from this research are the commodification of content or issues regarding childfree. There are political economic interests carried out by capital owners so if we look at it from this point of view, it can be seen as something that was born because of the domination of one group over another group in the form of control for profit and being a capitalist agent. It is hoped that the implications of this research can enrich case studies regarding the political economy of the media. Thus, in the future the viewing public will be "media aware" and the media can be utilized as fully as possible, not only from a commercial perspective.

Bank Muamalat Indonesia (BMI). The establishment of this Indonesian Syariah bank was based on intensive requests from thinkers, religious leaders, and Islamic entrepreneurs regarding the importance of accommodating Muslims who wish to make financial transactions in the Indonesian financial industry by applying the principles of Islamic Syariah. After BMI Bank had been operating for several years, the government issued the Banking Law and, in the banking law, recognized the dual system in Indonesian banking, namely, the conventional banking system and the Syariah banking system. Next, the government also issued the Syariah Banking Law to regulate the Syariah banking operational system in Indonesia. Syariah financial institutions have developed from an institutional perspective, with many Syariah banking branch offices, capital markets, and the Syariah non-bank financial industry (IKNB). However, in these three decades, Islamic financial institutions controlled 10 percent of the market share in the Indonesian financial industry. In this research, a strategy was produced to accelerate the capacity of Islamic financial institutions to compete with conventional financial institutions. This research also produced basic (grand), corporate, and functional strategies for accelerating the development of Indonesian Syariah financial institutions.

Abstract

This study addresses the pervasive issue of gender representation in educational materials, focusing on the elementary school context. The research problem centers on assessing how gender is portrayed in the textbook titled "My Next Words for Elementary School," designed for 1st-grade students. The purpose of the research is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the textbook's content, examining categories such as omission, firstness, occupational visibility, nouns, masculine generic construction, and adjectives, within the framework proposed by Porreca (1984). The methodology employed is a content analysis with a descriptive qualitative design. The study meticulously examines the 13 chapters of the textbook, analyzing both textual and illustrative elements. The findings reveal a balanced gender representation in text and illustrations, fostering an inclusive learning environment. The arrangement of sentences demonstrates an equitable introduction of male and female characters, promoting a sense of equality. The textbook breaks away from traditional gender norms by incorporating diverse occupational roles, ensuring both male and female characters engage in various professions. Nouns related to gender are thoughtfully selected to avoid reinforcing stereotypes, and masculine generic construction is balanced. Adjectives are distributed fairly between male and female characters. In the findings, the study emphasizes the contribution of the analyzed textbook in promoting gender inclusivity and avoiding stereotypes in elementary education. This research has implications for curriculum development and instructional material design, advocating for more inclusive and gender-sensitive educational resources in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study examined the listening comprehension issues that first-semester English language education program students encountered. A descriptive and qualitative methodology was used to conduct this study. Six students participated in this research during the first semester. Two sections of the questionnaire were filled out on paper. The result of the questionnaire showed that in the section listening material, 83% of them occasionally find it challenging to understand the complex grammatical structures related to English vocabulary when solving listening problems. Nonetheless, the majority of them selected "sometimes" in the questionnaire's listener problems section. According to the fifth statement in the section on listeners' problems, 50% of them find it difficult to respond to questions that require more detail than a brief answer because they lack the necessary vocabulary, there are a few recommendations that can be made. First, students should practice listening to English more frequently in order to improve their listening skills. Additionally, because grammar and vocabulary are crucial, students need to dedicate more time to developing them.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the implementation of the Student Centered Learning approach in improving students' English learning outcomes. The research method used is a quantitative experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 20 class II mattayom students at Eakkapapsasanawich Islamic School Krabi Thailand. The research was conducted for one month by applying the Student Centered Learning approach in English language learning. Data collection was carried out through pretest and posttest with written tests. The result show that implementing the student center learning approach is more effective in improving learning outcomes in learning English integers for class II Mattayom students compared to applying conventional learning. Based on the results of the t test analysis using the pretest and posttest data normality test and the results are known that pretest 0.19 > 0.05 and posttest 0.200 > 0.05 can be accepted and normally distributed, which means there are differences in the positive influence and effectiveness of implementing the student center learning approach applied in the experimental class.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning model on English learning outcomes for Class IV Ban Khlongrua School Krabi, Southern Thailand. This type of research is pre-experimental research in the form of one group pretest posttest, namely an experiment. The experimental research unit was fourth grade students at Ban Khlongrua School Krabi, Southern Thailand. The results of descriptive statistical analysis of English learning outcomes using the Problem Based Learning Model show better results than before using the Problem Based Learning Model. The results of inferential statistical analysis using the t-test formula show that the calculated t value obtained is 2.79 with a frequency of dk = 10-1 = 9. At the 5% significance level, the t table value = 0.45. So, ct-ount > ttable or 2.79 > 0.45. This proves that the application of the Problem Based Learning model in English learning has an influence so that it can be said to be more effective than before the use of the Problem Based Learning Learning Model.

Abstract

Gender inequality is the unequal allocation of opportunities and rights, among people of various genders. This commonly works against one gender, typically women. This research aims to analyze Louisa May Alcott's "Little Women" with a focus on gender inequality. A qualitative approach was used in this study. This study also used theory from Fakih (2008). The findings indicated that the novel describes five different forms of gender discrimination. The first is subordination, show that Jo cannot do anything she want because of her status as women. Second, stereotypes, when a woman behaves unfavorably or imitates a man, she will be perceived as a bad woman, like what Jo did because she always do the boyish tricks. Third, marginalization, show by Jo character that can be the backbone of his family when their father go to the war. Fourth, burden of work, where the Jo and also her sibling not only work to earn money, they also work at home to clean the house. For the last form, which is violence, it did not happen in the novel. In order to rouse women at the time, gender injustice was brought up in "Little Women," and as a result, the subject came to represent the state of American society at that time. The conversation and utterances of the characters make it clear that the female characters struggle to fit in with society.
