Abstract

Ports play a critical role in national logistics systems, yet operational risks remain a major challenge, particularly in developing countries where digital transformation is still evolving. This study aims to examine the effect of digital transformation on port operational risk reduction in Indonesia, with integrated information systems, operational efficiency, and operational reliability as mediating variables. A quantitative approach was employed using questionnaire data collected from 125 port employees, analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that digital transformation has a significant positive effect on integrated information systems (β = 0.853, p < 0.001). Integrated information systems significantly influence operational efficiency (β = -0.594, p < 0.001) and operational reliability (β = -0.310, p = 0.002). Furthermore, operational efficiency significantly reduces operational risk (β = 0.355, p = 0.005), while operational reliability does not have a significant effect (p = 0.065). Mediation analysis confirms that integrated information systems and operational efficiency significantly mediate the relationship between digital transformation and operational risk reduction (β = -0.180, p = 0.007), whereas the mediation through operational reliability is not supported. These findings highlight that digital transformation contributes to reducing port operational risks primarily through improving operational efficiency, providing important implications for port management and policy development.

Abstract

This research investigates the extent to which Product Quality Image (X1) and Price Perception (X2) shape Indonesian consumers’ decisions to purchase ANTAM gold (Y), while also assessing the mediating contribution of Green Consumer Behaviour (Z). Data were gathered through a quantitative survey of 204 individuals who had previously bought ANTAM gold, using a five-point Likert-scale instrument. The hypothesized relationships were tested with PLS-SEM supported by bootstrapping procedures. The results indicate that a stronger quality image and a more favorable perception of price both increase the likelihood of purchase. In addition, Green Consumer Behaviour contributes directly to purchase decisions and functions as a meaningful partial mediator, suggesting that environmentally oriented values reinforce—rather than substitute—the influence of quality and price evaluation in this context. From a managerial perspective, the findings imply that ANTAM can strengthen consumer decisions by maintaining clear and price fairness while communicating sustainability commitments in ways that align with the expectations of green-minded consumers.

Abstract

This study investigates the integrated effects of marketing strategy, port facilities, and equipment utilization on port performance and their implications for user satisfaction at Marunda Port, Indonesia. Despite achieving a relatively high user satisfaction score (4.2/5), operational data reveal inefficiencies in asset utilization and inconsistencies in performance, indicating a gap between perceived service quality and operational effectiveness.A quantitative research design was employed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with LISREL. The study utilizes both primary data collected through user surveys and secondary data derived from port operational reports (2022–2024). The results demonstrate that port facilities and equipment utilization have a strong and significant influence on port performance, while marketing strategy shows a weaker but still significant effect. Furthermore, port performance significantly affects user satisfaction, confirming its mediating role in the relationship between operational factors and customer perception. The findings reveal a critical paradox: although ship service performance (waiting time and approach time) meets operational standards, low utilization rates (BOR and YOR) indicate the presence of idle capacity, suggesting inefficiencies in land-side operations. This study contributes to the literature by providing an integrated model that simultaneously examines marketing strategy, infrastructure, and operational utilization within a port performance framework. Managerially, the study highlights the need for data-driven marketing strategies, optimization of asset utilization, and improved integration between sea-side and land-side operations to enhance competitiveness and user satisfaction.

Abstract

Wing-In-Ground (WIG) effect craft represent a compelling high-speed maritime transportation solution for archipelagic nations, yet their global adoption remains constrained by fragmented regulatory frameworks and the absence of nationally adapted construction standards. This study proposes a national regulatory and construction framework for WIG craft tailored to Indonesia's tropical archipelagic conditions, using a systematic mapping study of 32 peer-reviewed and regulatory sources retrieved from Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, and ScienceDirect following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The results establish three key contributions. First, a three-tier classification system (Type A: exclusive ground effect; Type B: transitional capability; Type C: full aircraft mode) is proposed to facilitate phased adoption with progressively stringent certification requirements. Second, a hybrid material strategy combining marine-grade aluminum alloys (hull) with Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (wings and stabilizers) is validated as optimal for tropical corrosion resistance and weight efficiency, with potential payload improvements of 30–40% over all-aluminum designs. Third, a redundant propulsion architecture with multi-stage Foreign Object Damage (FOD) filtration achieving ≥95% particulate removal efficiency is established as mandatory for safe operations in Indonesia's littoral environment. Operational analysis of the Java Sea demonstrates that Type A WIG craft could achieve approximately 80% annual uptime, reducing the Surabaya–Bawean transit from 3–4 hours to 45–60 minutes. This framework addresses the legal vacuum created by the absence of national WIG regulations and provides a replicable model for other tropical archipelagic nations.

Abstract

Early fire detection in ship cargo holds remains a persistent maritime safety challenge, particularly due to the inadequacy of conventional fixed-threshold sensor systems under highly dynamic onboard environments. This study employs a PRISMA-based systematic review of 20 empirical and simulation-based studies retrieved from IEEE Xplore, Scopus, ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, and Web of Science, covering publications from 2010 to 2025. The review examines how adaptive thresholding systems and Fire Hazard Index (FHI) frameworks can integrate multi-parameter sensor data — including gas concentration, temperature, humidity, oxygen levels, and airflow — to improve detection sensitivity and reduce false alarms in maritime cargo environments. Key findings indicate that hybrid approaches combining probabilistic sensor fusion (Bayesian inference, Dempster–Shafer theory) with machine learning classifiers (Support Vector Machine, Random Forest) achieve false alarm reductions of 30–50% compared to static-threshold systems. However, critical gaps remain: fewer than 20% of reviewed studies were validated under real maritime operational conditions, no standardized FHI framework has been adopted for regulatory compliance, and real-time adaptive learning mechanisms remain computationally constrained for onboard deployment. This review contributes a structured synthesis of adaptive algorithm design, FHI integration principles, and system validation requirements, providing a foundation for developing standardized, maritime-specific fire detection frameworks capable of enhancing safety across diverse vessel operations.

Abstract

Background: Digital transformation in government services through e-government implementation has become a strategic approach to improving public service quality. The Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Office (DPMPTSP) of Buleleng Regency developed the SI AJAIB Application as a digital-based licensing service system. Despite increasing adoption, the application’s effectiveness still faces challenges, including limited feature utilization, service speed, and accessibility. This indicates that the success of digital innovation implementation is not determined solely by technological factors but also by the quality of collaborative governance and the level of trust among stakeholders. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of collaborative governance on the effectiveness of the SI AJAIB Application, with trust building as a mediating variable. Research Object and Objectives: The research object consists of 171 service users of the SI AJAIB Application. The study’s objective is to examine how collaborative governance influences the application’s effectiveness and to determine the mediating role of trust building in enhancing this relationship. Methods: This study employs a quantitative approach with a causal-associative research design. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to the 171 service users. The analysis was conducted using SEM-PLS (Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Squares) to test the relationships between collaborative governance, trust, and application effectiveness. The process included validity and reliability testing, structural model evaluation, and hypothesis testing using the bootstrapping technique. Results: The findings indicate that collaborative governance has a positive and significant effect on the effectiveness of the SI AJAIB Application. Additionally, trust building plays a mediating role, strengthening the relationship between collaborative governance and system effectiveness. Higher levels of stakeholder collaboration, reflected through communication, participation, and facilitative leadership, lead to increased trust, which in turn enhances the effectiveness of the application in public service delivery. Conclusion: The study concludes that the effectiveness of the SI AJAIB Application is influenced not only by the quality of the information system but also by collaborative governance and stakeholder trust. Trust building is a key element bridging collaborative governance and successful e-government implementation. Strengthening cross-sector collaboration and fostering public trust should be prioritized as strategic measures to improve the quality of regional digital government services.

Abstract

This study examines consumer preferences for environmentally friendly products using a market experiment approach. Grounded in consumer preference theory, green consumer behavior, and the Theory of Planned Behavior, the research aims to identify key determinants influencing actual consumer choices. A quantitative experimental design was employed, involving 240 respondents, in which product attributes such as price, quality, eco-label, packaging, and environmental value were systematically manipulated. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that all variables significantly influence consumer preferences, with perceived quality and price emerging as the most dominant factors. Environmental value, eco-label, and packaging also have positive effects, although with relatively lower impact. These findings indicate that consumer decisions are primarily driven by utilitarian considerations, while environmental awareness functions as a supporting factor. The study also highlights the persistence of the attitude–behavior gap, where pro-environmental attitudes do not always translate into actual purchasing behavior. This research contributes theoretically by integrating economic and behavioral perspectives to understand sustainable consumption, and methodologically by applying a market-experiment approach to capture real choice behavior. Practically, the findings suggest that firms should prioritize product quality and competitive pricing while strengthening credible environmental communication to enhance consumer adoption of green products.

Abstract

The global logistics industry is transforming operational functions into strategic capabilities to create competitive advantage. However, rapid market growth in Indonesia has not been fully matched by adequate organizational capabilities, leading to the "fragmented capability" phenomenon that hinders firm competitiveness. This study aims to analyze how supply chain integration, digital logistics, and network embeddedness simultaneously influence innovation performance and competitive performance in Indonesian freight forwarding companies. This study employs a quantitative explanatory research design involving 201 respondents in managerial positions, selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using a Structural Equation Modeling approach based on Partial Least Squares. The research results show that supply chain integration and network embeddedness significantly improve innovation performance, and that network embeddedness and innovation performance directly enhance competitive performance. Conversely, supply chain integration has no significant direct influence on competitive performance, indicating that its role is more of a supporting capability that must be transformed through innovation. This study concludes that competitive advantage is determined not only by operational integration but by the organization's ability to convert those capabilities into valuable innovations. Companies are advised to prioritize strengthening innovation and strategic partnerships to increase access to market opportunities.
