Abstract

This Technology skills training programs for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) represent a strategic effort to strengthen business owners’ readiness to face digital transformation in the Society 5.0 era. This study aims to describe the practical impact of such training on enhancing the digital capabilities of MSMEs through a cross-sectoral survey approach. The findings indicate that the training has a positive impact on improving operational efficiency, particularly in inventory management and work processes, which have become more structured and effective. Additionally, the training facilitates market expansion through the use of digital platforms and e-commerce, enabling MSMEs to reach a broader consumer base. The shift toward online services has also enhanced the ability of SMEs to respond to consumer behavior that increasingly prioritizes the convenience of digital transactions. On the other hand, the integration of digital payment systems improves transaction efficiency and boosts customer trust in SME services. Strengthening brand and reputation through social media is another significant impact, marked by increased customer interaction and engagement in building the business’s image. Overall, the results of this study indicate that technological literacy plays a crucial role as a key factor in enhancing the competitiveness, efficiency, and sustainability of SMEs amidst the ever-evolving dynamics of the digital business landscape

Abstract

This community service program entitled “Building Democratic Character through the KPU Community Service Program: Realizing Integrity-Based Students in Mataram” was implemented as an effort to strengthen democratic literacy, instill integrity values, and enhance students’ awareness of participatory engagement in social, national, and state life. The background of this activity is based on the importance of democratic education from an early age, considering that students represent the young generation who will later play an active role as citizens in sustaining democracy. The implementation of the program was carried out in collaboration with the General Elections Commission (KPU) in Mataram, using interactive socialization methods, group discussions, democratic simulations, participatory practices, and descriptive evaluation. The preparation phase involved internal coordination of the implementation team to develop materials, formulate implementation strategies, and systematically assign tasks. The implementation phase focused on a voting simulation resembling actual electoral procedures, allowing participants to gain direct experience of democratic mechanisms and the importance of order, honesty, responsibility, and respect for collective decisions. The evaluation phase was conducted through observation of participant engagement, reflective discussions, and assessment of participants’ understanding of the delivered materials. The results show that a participatory, simulation-based approach effectively improved participants’ understanding of democratic principles, strengthened integrity values, and encouraged active involvement in collective decision-making processes.

Abstract

Community service is one form of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which aims to integrate education, research, and community engagement into a unified and applicable activity. This program was conducted at the Sengkol Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency, involving university students as the primary participants. The objective of the activity was to enhance students’ understanding of solar energy concepts and their practical implementation through an experiential learning approach. The methods employed included preparation, field observation, interviews, interactive educational sessions, and evaluation. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of the working principles of solar power plants, particularly regarding the energy conversion process through the photovoltaic effect and the functions of key components such as solar panels and inverters. Furthermore, the activity increased students’ awareness of the importance of renewable energy in supporting environmental sustainability. This program demonstrated that contextual learning through direct field observation is effective in improving students’ energy literacy. Therefore, this activity model is recommended as an innovative approach to learning in the field of renewable energy.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to analyze and improve livestock health services for ruminants (cattle and goats) in Pringgasela Subdistrict, East Lombok Regency. The methods used include field observation, interviews with livestock farmers and animal health center officers, as well as direct extension services and veterinary treatment. Based on observation data and interviews with 50 farmer respondents, the dominant diseases identified before the intervention were scabies (79% of cases in goats), digestive disorders/bloating (62% in cattle), and mild symptoms of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) (10% in cattle). The integrated livestock health service program (vaccination, curative treatment, extension, and supplementation) implemented in a scheduled and participatory manner successfully reduced the prevalence of ruminant diseases significantly, particularly scabies and digestive disorders in Pringgasela Subdistrict.

Abstract

With the advancement of technology in the earth sciences, the identification, investigation, and interpretation of subsurface conditions to identify natural resources beneath the surface has become easier. Geophysical technology is a powerful method to support this process. Using currently popular geophysical methods, this is not difficult to accomplish. The geomagnetic method, in particular, is a well-established geophysical method in the exploration world. This method is highly sensitive to vertical changes in the subsurface, making it highly suitable for application, particularly in geophysical fieldwork, to identify hot springs. It is hoped that students, the community service team, the community, and the Tulehu regional government will experience the positive impact of this program. As is known, the Tulehu region boasts abundant natural resources, yet they remain largely unexplored. Therefore, through the implementation of geophysical fieldwork as a community service activity, these manifestations can be properly investigated. In fact, with the application of geophysical applications, hot springs have been identified at several locations. This location has become iconic in education (geological-geophysical studies) and for tourism (geotourism) as a learning reference. In the future, the community service team hopes to continue developing other activities and innovations using a geophysical approach so that they can have a positive impact on various general audiences.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance the creativity and capabilities of the Jurit Buangka MSMEs in Lenek Baru Village in processing cassava into cassava tape as a value-added economic product, while also introducing effective online and offline marketing strategies. The method employed in this study was an experimental and hands-on practice approach in producing cassava tape through a fermentation process using tape yeast. The activity was conducted through seminars and practical training involving local community participants. The results demonstrated that the success of cassava tape fermentation was influenced by several factors, including the type of cassava, material cleanliness, fermentation techniques, storage conditions, and fermentation duration. Among several experimental trials, the best results were achieved by using chemical-free cassava, applying proper boiling techniques, and fermenting the cassava for two nights in containers lined with banana leaves. In addition to production training, participants were also introduced to online marketing strategies through social media platforms and offline marketing techniques through direct consumer engagement. This activity had a positive impact on improving community knowledge regarding local food processing and the development of MSME marketing strategies. Through product innovation and the implementation of appropriate marketing strategies, cassava tape has the potential to become a superior local product capable of increasing community income and supporting the growth of MSMEs in Lenek Baru Village.

Abstract

The rainy season often causes major problems in horticultural crops, including high humidity, fungal attacks, and weak vegetative growth. This field study developed a plant-based liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) using locally available materials such as moringa leaves, papaya leaves, sugar apple leaves, wax apple leaves, garlic, shallots, ginger, turmeric, galangal, and citronella. All ingredients were processed through roasting and blending techniques to produce an organic powder that dissolves easily in water. The fertilizer was applied through soil drenching and foliar spraying at doses of 1 tablespoon per liter of water for drenching and 1–2 tablespoons per 10 liters of water for spraying. Field observations showed significant improvements in plant height, leaf number, and stem diameter after treatment compared to before treatment. These results were supported by a paired-sample t-test at a significance level of 0.05, which indicated a p-value lower than 0.05. In addition, leaf color changed from pale green before treatment to dark green after treatment, indicating healthier plant conditions. During the generative phase, all observed parameters, including the number of flowers, number of fruits, and percentage of healthy fruits, showed significant increases. The findings suggest that locally sourced plant-based liquid organic fertilizer can effectively enhance the growth and productivity of horticultural crops during the rainy season.

Abstract

Animal health services are one of the important efforts to improve livestock productivity and maintain public veterinary health. The Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) of the Animal Health Center (Puskeswan) plays a strategic role in delivering animal health services at the field level. This study aims to describe the implementation of animal health services at the UPT Puskeswan and evaluate the effectiveness of services provided to livestock farmers. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, interviews, and documentation involving officers and farmers. The results show that animal health services at the UPT Puskeswan include preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative activities, such as vaccination, disease treatment, livestock health checks, and farmer education. The implementation of services has been running quite well; however, there are still several obstacles such as limited infrastructure, a shortage of veterinary medical personnel, and low awareness among farmers regarding the importance of animal health. The conclusion of this study is that animal health services at the UPT Puskeswan play a very important role in supporting livestock health and productivity, but improvements are needed through strengthening human resources, facilities, and education for the farming community.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve conceptual understanding, analytical thinking skills, and learning motivation of elementary school students in preparing for the National Student Sports Olympiad (O2SN) in Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. The problems faced include low conceptual understanding, low learning motivation, and lack of structured mentoring. This activity was carried out through an intensive mentoring program involving three fifth-grade students for 3–4 weeks. The method used was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results showed improvements in both cognitive and affective aspects. Students demonstrated better conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills, as well as increased motivation and self-confidence. Therefore, this mentoring program is effective in preparing students for academic competitions while also fostering better learning character.

Abstract

Institutional strengthening of village governance is one of the key factors in realizing effective, transparent, and accountable governance at the local level. Since the enactment of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, villages have gained broader authority in managing governance, development, and community empowerment. This condition requires adequate institutional capacity to ensure the optimal implementation of village governance. In this context, the Community and Village Empowerment Service of West Nusa Tenggara Province (DPMPD NTB) has a strategic role in providing guidance, facilitation, and institutional strengthening for village governance. This study aims to analyze the role of DPMPD NTB in strengthening village government institutions and to identify various efforts made to improve the capacity of village officials. This research uses a qualitative approach through literature studies and analysis of relevant policy documents. The findings show that DPMPD NTB plays a role through capacity-building programs for village officials, governance management assistance, and strengthening coordination among village institutions. These efforts contribute to improving the effectiveness of village governance and support the realization of sustainable rural development.
