Abstract

This study aims to analyze Indonesian nurses' cultural adaptation and professional challenges in the United States. The method used is quantitative descriptive. The results showed that the average level of cultural adaptation was classified as good (mean 18.83). However, the professional challenges faced were classified as high (mean 18.90), especially in workload and communication. There was a strong correlation between cultural adaptation and professional challenges (r = 0.873; p = 0.000), indicating that good adaptation increases awareness of challenges. In conclusion, Indonesian nurses can adapt in the United States, but systemic challenges such as differences in work culture and high workload remain significant. Educational institutions and governments must develop cultural adaptation training, orientation programs, and community support to prepare nurses to work abroad.   Keywords: Cultural Adaptation, Nurses, Professional Challenges

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of honey gargling as a wound care method in patients with submandibular abscesses. The research methods included interviews, observation, physical examination, intervention recording, and daily evaluations. The gargling instruments included a honey solution and a Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The results showed that patients who received non-pharmacological therapy by gargling with honey solution three times daily (morning, afternoon, and evening) by dissolving two spoons of honey in 200 ml of lukewarm water and holding it in their mouths for 30 seconds demonstrated a decrease in pain from 6 to 2, reduced swelling, disappearance of pus, and increased patient comfort. In conclusion, the healing process demonstrated good wound improvement. Honey gargling has been shown to support optimal wound healing, from the inflammatory phase, proliferation, to tissue maturation.   Keywords: Submandibular Abscess, Honey Gargle, Wound

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the prevalence of gout arthritis and identify risk factors contributing to its incidence in the Sokaraja Community Health Center I work area. A correlational approach was used to analyze the relationship between gender, nutritional status, diet, and physical activity level with the risk of gout arthritis in the elderly population in the area. The results showed no statistically significant association between the risk factors, with a p-value > 0.05. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that the incidence of gout is not significantly associated with food type, physical activity, nutritional status, or gender. Although these four factors are often associated as potential risk factors, this study did not statistically demonstrate an effect on the incidence of hyperuricemia in older people in the Sokaraja Community Health Center I work area.   Keywords: Physical Activity, Gout, Gender, Food Type, Nutritional Status

Abstract

This study attempts to analyze the benefits and side effects of this therapy on health, as well as its legal standing and position within Islamic law, from the perspective of maqasid al-Shari'ah (Islamic principles of Islamic law). The research employed qualitative phenomenological methods, including interviews and observations at four beauty clinics, and problem analysis using triangulation. The results demonstrate the benefits of this therapy for treating medical problems and its aesthetic benefits for skin rejuvenation. However, its potential health side effects require careful consideration of several factors, such as drug safety and the competence of the expert to avoid endangering life. The legal standing and position of both therapies, according to maqasid al-Shari'ah, are classified as tertiary needs or tahsiniyyat. In conclusion, dermal fillers are not considered an urgent need; therefore, as long as the procedure does not cause harm, their use is permissible, taking into account applicable medical aspects.   Keywords: Dermal Filler, Beauty, Maqasid al-Shari'ah, Health Promotion, Women

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of knowledge, perception, and cues to action on the acceptance of the implementation of the Mantoux test in mothers who have toddlers suspected of having TB at the Rengel Community Health Center, Tuban Regency. This research method is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The results of this study found that knowledge was good (88.2%), perception of moderate susceptibility (79.1%), perception of mild severity (68.2%), perception of moderate benefits (73.6%), perception of moderate barriers (84.5%), and cues to action were moderate (74.5%). The results of the partial regression analysis of each independent variable were: there was no influence of the knowledge factor (α = 0.542), perception of susceptibility (α = 0.124), perception of severity (α = 0.969), perception of benefits (α = 0.661), and there was an influence of the perception of barriers (α = 0.000) and the cues to action factor (α = 0.000) on the acceptance of the Mantoux test. The analysis simultaneously showed that knowledge, perceptions (susceptibility, severity, benefits, barriers), and cues to action influenced acceptance of the Mantoux test, with a significance value of α = 0.000 (<α = 0.05). Acceptance of the Mantoux test was influenced by knowledge, perceptions, and cues to action by 86.9% (Adjusted R Square: 0.869), with perceived barriers (β = 0.969) having a greater influence than cues to action (β = 0.626). In conclusion, providing detailed information about childhood TB, susceptibility and severity, benefits, early detection, and the importance of the Mantoux test is necessary. This necessitates effective collaboration between health workers, cadres, and related parties.   Keywords: Mantoux test, Acceptance, HBM Theory

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the therapeutic potential of Artemisia annua L. derivatives, specifically artemisinin, in modulating disrupted endocrine and metabolic pathways in PCOS. This research method utilized a literature review, with data sources consisting of journal articles and books related to the research topic. The results indicate that the pharmacological properties of artemisinin can treat PCOS-related insulin resistance through its regulatory interaction with the CYP11A1 and LONP1 pathways. Artemisinin can also enhance CYP11A1 degradation by directly binding to the mitochondrial protease LONP1, reducing androgen synthesis and alleviating insulin resistance. By targeting steroidogenesis and mitochondrial function, artemisinin emerges as a promising multi-target alternative therapy for PCOS with fewer side effects. In conclusion, artemisinin shows good molecular and clinical potential for overcoming insulin resistance in PCOS patients.   Keywords: Artemisinin, CYP11A1, LONP1, PCOS, Insulin Resistance
