Abstract

This study investigates the influence of product quality and product innovation on marketing performance, with market orientation serving as a mediating variable in cosmetic retail stores in Kediri. Employing a quantitative explanatory research design, data were gathered through questionnaires distributed to cosmetic store owners, managers, and supervisors with a minimum of one year of operational experience. The sample was determined using purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS 4. The results indicate that both product quality and product innovation exert a positive and significant effect on market orientation and marketing performance. Market orientation is also found to positively and significantly enhance marketing performance while mediating the relationship between product quality, product innovation, and marketing performance. These findings imply that superior product quality and continuous innovation, when aligned with strong market orientation, can substantially improve the marketing performance of cosmetic retailers. The study’s contribution is reinforced by its novelty, namely the empirical testing of a market‐orientation mediation model within the specific context of regional cosmetic retailing—an area that has received limited scholarly attention. The research extends marketing theory by offering empirical evidence from a unique industry and regional setting, while also providing practical insights that can guide strategic decision-making for cosmetic retail businesses.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the meaning, stages, and socio-cultural values contained in the traditional Molo A'ra Sahu marriage ceremony in the Sahu Tribe community in West Halmahera Regency. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of traditional leaders, community leaders, and couples who carry out the ceremony. The results of the study show that the Molo A'ra Sahu ceremony is not just a marriage procession, but a traditional ritual that is loaded with cultural symbols and values such as mutual cooperation, kinship, responsibility, and respect for ancestors. Each stage of the ceremony — from the proposal (fotu), the handing over of the dowry (molo), to the traditional feast (a'ra) — has a philosophical meaning that reflects the Sahu people's view of the sacredness of the marriage bond and the importance of maintaining social harmony in the community. This study concludes that Molo A'ra Sahu has an important function in preserving local cultural identity and strengthening the social solidarity of the Sahu people in the midst of modernization. It is hoped that the results of this research can be a reference for the preservation of regional culture and learning materials for the younger generation about the local wisdom of West Halmahera.

Abstract

Philosophy is often regarded as a discipline intended only for adults, even though thinking and questioning are natural instincts of children. In basic education, the Philosophy for Children (P4C) approach has the potential to serve as a fundamental framework for developing critical, reflective, and ethical thinking skills from an early age. This study aims to examine the implementation of philosophy in primary education and its relevance to character formation and the cultivation of children’s critical thinking abilities. The research employed a qualitative literature review by analyzing various national and international studies related to P4C. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify recurring patterns, key concepts, and the practical implications of applying philosophy in primary school contexts. The findings indicate that philosophy-based learning, through dialogic discussion and the Socratic method, enhances students’ critical thinking, empathy, communication, and moral awareness. In conclusion, philosophy education in elementary schools plays a crucial role in shaping students’ intellectual growth and reflective character. Therefore, integrating the P4C approach into the curriculum represents a strategic pathway toward more humanistic and contextually relevant education.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of continuous development, based on the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, at SDN Abirau, Banjar Regency, to enhance school quality holistically. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, utilizing data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation analysis involving the principal, teachers, and educational staff. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman's interactive model, with source and method triangulation used to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that SDN Abirau has implemented end-of-semester reflections, teacher professional training, communities of practice, learning outcome evaluations, and the PDCA cycle in its quality management. Supporting factors include visionary leadership, a strong teacher community, and a reflective culture. Conversely, the main obstacles are time constraints, incomplete documentation, mismatched training materials, and uneven teacher participation. The study's novelty lies in the integration of comprehensive stakeholder involvement and the utilization of real-time data within the elementary school context. Practical recommendations include strengthening the training needs analysis, improving PDCA documentation, increasing the frequency of teacher communities, enhancing participation in evaluations, and fostering a continuous improvement culture supported by adequate resources. Consequently, continuous development serves as an effective strategy for improving school quality systematically and sustainably

Abstract

This study discusses the use of handphone in the teaching and learning process of Pancasila and Civic Education (PPKn) by teachers at SMP Negeri 22 Samarinda. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection tecniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that the use of handphone in PPKn laerning covers three main aspects, namely positive impacts, negative impacts, and challenges. On the positive side, the use of handphone can increase students’ motivation to learn, independence, and digital literacy skills. Handphone also make it easier for students to search for information, broaden their knowledge, and understand the material in an interesting and contextual way. In addition, the use of handphone supports active, creative, and collaborative learning between teachers and students. However, the negative impact that arise include misuse for non-academic activities, decreased concentration in learning, and technical obstacles such as limited internet network and battery power. The challenge for Civic Education teachers is to control the us of handphone so that it remains in line with learning objectives and to address differences in technological capabilities among students. To overcome this, teachers implement supervision, educational sanctions, and character building in discipline and responsibility with the support of the school and parents.

Abstract

The development of technology and digital media has influenced the moral behavior of young generations, marked by the increasing phenomenon of moral disengagement such as cyberbullying, lack of empathy, and weak social responsibility among students. This study aims to analyze the Sundanese local wisdom values silih asah, silih asih, and silih asuh (Trisilas) as an ethical foundation for addressing moral disruption among students. The method used is a systematic literature review (SLR) employing the PRISMA approach on 20 scientific articles published between 2020 and 2025. The analysis results indicate that Trisilas values function as a moral and social strengthening mechanism capable of reducing moral disengagement tendencies by fostering empathy, responsibility, and solidarity within educational environments. Silih asah develops intellectual reflection, silih asih cultivates emotional concern, and silih asuh reinforces students’ social responsibility. The integration of these values in modern education aligns with virtue ethics, which emphasizes moral habituation through communal culture. Thus, the internalization of Trisilas local wisdom can serve as an effective strategy to build students’ character and moral awareness in the digital era while simultaneously strengthening the nation’s cultural identity and spirituality in facing global challenges.

Abstract

Learning motivation is a major factor in student success, especially for children from fishing families who are influenced by socioeconomic conditions, family environment, and coastal culture. This study aims to analyze the learning motivation of students from fishing families in elementary schools within a cluster in the coastal area of South Cilacap, as well as the factors that influence it. The study used a qualitative, phenomenological approach. The research subjects consisted of students, teachers, and parents, selected purposively to represent variations in learning conditions and family support. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through condensation, presentation, and verification of conclusions. We ensured the validity of the findings by triangulating techniques and sources. The results of the study indicate variations in learning motivation influenced by internal factors (drive to achieve, interest, and awareness of learning goals, and curiosity) and external factors (parental support, teacher attention, family socioeconomic conditions, and the school environment). Students who are highly motivated demonstrate determination, a willingness to learn, discipline, and an understanding of the importance of education. Moderate motivation is evident in fluctuating learning enthusiasm and reliance on external stimuli such as praise and grades from teachers and parents. Low motivation is characterized by passive behavior, lack of focus, minimal internal and external support, inconsistent attendance, and a lack of recognition of school as a top priority. This study confirms that the learning motivation of fishermen's children depends not only on family finances but also on moral, emotional, and social support from their surrounding environment. The active roles of teachers and parents are crucial for fostering students' sustained enthusiasm for learning in coastal schools.

Abstract

Generation Z is closely related to the digital world, therefore teaching methods in lectures should be more inclined towards the use of digital devices, such as the implementation of online lectures, the use of applications in solving problems so that they can form a more developed digital mindset of students. Because in the future work will be inclined to the use of technology, so that later students who have graduated can easily adapt to the world of work. The purpose of this study is to see the Role of Digital Mindset and Digital Adaptation Skills in Mediating the Digital Learning Environment on the Digital Competence of Generation Z Students in Sumenep Regency. The sample in this study is students who are still actively studying at universities in Sumenep Regency, with a total of 96 respondents. The results showed that LBD had a positive and significant effect on KAD and PPD, and both had a significant effect on KD. However, the direct influence of LBD on KD was not significant, indicating that the relationship occurred through the mediation role of KAD and PPD. An R-square value of 0.609 indicates that the model has a moderate ability to explain students' digital competence. These findings confirm that strengthening the digital learning environment will be more effective if it is balanced with increasing students' adaptability to technology and forming a positive perception of digital learning. The practical implications of this study emphasize the importance of collaboration between educational institutions, lecturers, and students in creating a digital learning ecosystem that supports the continuous improvement of digital competencies
