Abstract

Digital transformation, workforce globalization, and Industry 4.0 require rapid adaptation in vocational education to prepare competitive graduates for the global labour market. This study identifies strategies to enhance vocational graduates' employability and maps thematic clusters and Research trends. We conducted a systematic literature review with a PRISMA bibliometric analysis. A search in Scopus and Google Scholar retrieved 400 records; after removing duplicates, screening, applying inclusion/exclusion criteria (peer-reviewed journals indexed in Scopus or SINTA 1–2, full text, relevance), and quality assessment, 44 articles (2020–2025) were analyzed. Bibliometric and thematic synthesis revealed five clusters: (1) digital transformation and Industry 4.0–oriented learning, (2) work-based learning and dual systems, (3) skills development and employability, (4) policy and governance, and (5) entrepreneurship and career development. Findings show that employability is strengthened by integrating technical and soft skills, fostering industry partnerships, improving digital literacy, enhancing teacher competence, and adopting adaptive governance. The study proposes an integrated framework linking digital transformation, learning, and governance, and offers evidence-based guidance for policymakers, institutions, and stakeholders to design responsive vocational strategies aligned with Industry 4.0.

Abstract

This study aims to gain an in-depth understanding of how Indonesian English Education students describe their teaching experiences during the 2024 International Service Learning Program in Malaysia. Employing a qualitative narrative inquiry design, data were collected through in-depth interviews and reflective narratives, then analyzed using Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis to identify recurring patterns within the participants' stories. The findings reveal three central themes: (1) cultural adjustment, reflected in students' efforts to navigate different classroom norms and communication styles; (2) pedagogical shift, demonstrated through their Adaptation of teaching strategies to meet Malaysian learners' expectations; and (3) professional identity formation, emerging through ongoing reflection on their roles as novice teachers in a cross-cultural context. These results contribute to the theoretical understanding of intercultural teacher education by highlighting the value of narrative Inquiry in capturing identity development within transnational teaching spaces. Practically, this study underscores the importance of structured intercultural preparation for pre-service teachers. At the same time, at the policy level, it emphasizes the need to expand international exposure programs to strengthen global teaching competencies.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is an essential competency in 21st-century education, particularly in vocational schools where students are expected to apply scientific knowledge in real-life and professional contexts. This study aimed to develop an interactive e-book module to enhance students' scientific literacy on the topic of Living Organisms and the Environment by integrating batik ecoprint as a contextual learning medium. The novelty of this research lies in positioning batik ecoprint not merely as a practical skill activity but as a systematic scientific context within digital-based vocational learning. The study employed a Research and Development approach using the 4-D model, consisting of the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The e-book flipbook module was validated by experts in content, media, language, and instructional design using the Content Validity Index (CVI). Its effectiveness was examined using a quasi-experimental one-group pre-test–post-test design across three Grade X vocational school classes. Data were analyzed using N-Gain. The results indicate that the developed e-book flipbook demonstrates high feasibility and effectively improves students' scientific literacy at moderate to high levels, with N-Gain values ranging from 0.63 to 0.77. These findings confirm the effectiveness of integrating local cultural contexts into vocational science learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent to which financial literacy influences the consumer behaviour of senior high school students in Pondok Gede District, Bekasi City. The research was conducted at State Senior High School 5 and State Senior High School 21 in Bekasi, with a sample of 96 students selected through proportional stratified random sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed with statistical tests. The findings show that financial literacy has a positive and significant effect on students' consumer behaviour, suggesting that students with greater financial literacy tend to make more rational and responsible consumption decisions. This result highlights the importance of strengthening financial education among adolescents, particularly in school settings, as a preventive measure against excessive consumerism. In practice, the study suggests that integrating financial literacy programs into the school curriculum can equip students with the skills to manage their finances wisely and avoid wasteful spending habits.

Abstract

This study was motivated by various obstacles public elementary school teachers in Padang Selatan District face in utilising the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) and in managing learning based on the Merdeka Curriculum. The research aims to describe the level of PMM utilisation, examine the effectiveness of learning management, and analyse the relationship between the two variables. A quantitative approach with a descriptive survey method was employed. The sample consisted of 78 teachers selected through stratified proportional random sampling from a population of 157 teachers. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire and analysed through simple linear regression. The findings reveal that PMM utilisation was categorised as good (86.39%), while learning management effectiveness was 88.09%. The analysis indicates a significant relationship between PMM utilisation and learning management effectiveness, with a contribution of 74.4%. These results demonstrate that PMM plays a substantial role in supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum. Practically, optimising PMM usage enhances learning management effectiveness, while theoretically, it reinforces the importance of integrating educational technology to improve teachers' professional performance and instructional management quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning, objectives, and implications of integrating religion and science in the development of contemporary Islamic education and scientific paradigms. It employs a qualitative approach using a conceptual-philosophical literature review of twenty academic publications from 2016–2025. Data were analyzed through iterative thematic synthesis involving reflective coding and classification into ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions. The findings indicate that integration is understood as a proportional harmonization between revelation and reason rather than a methodological fusion. Three strategic objectives are identified: constructing a holistic unity-based scientific paradigm, strengthening scientific ethics in response to the moral crisis of modern science, and developing civilization-oriented Islamic education. This study contributes an integrative analytical framework positioning integration as a normative-operational paradigm in educational and scientific development. Its novelty lies in affirming integration not only as a philosophical principle but also as applicable to the construction of a non-dichotomous, ethical, and contextual Islamic education paradigm responsive to contemporary global challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a conceptual framework for character education in senior high schools by systematically mapping implementation patterns, challenges, and strategies to strengthen character values. The research employed a conceptual design using a Systematic Literature Review approach. The units of analysis were research articles on character education at the senior high school level published between 2015 and 2024, sourced from reputable national and international journals. Through predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, 37 articles were selected for analysis. Data were examined using content analysis and thematic coding to identify recurring patterns, conceptual relationships, and dominant themes. The findings reveal that character education is constructed through the integration of three core dimensions. The pedagogical dimension emphasizes reflective and experiential learning, positioning students as moral subjects. The cultural dimension is reflected in consistent school culture, educator role modeling, and supportive social interactions. The structural dimension ensures sustainability through moral leadership, participatory policies, and partnerships with families and communities; however, weak integration reduces overall effectiveness.

Abstract

The increasing demand for globally competitive yet locally grounded education has encouraged many countries, including Indonesia, to implement dual-curriculum systems integrating national and international frameworks. In Indonesian K–12 schools, this integration commonly involves the national curriculum alongside international programs such as Cambridge, the International Baccalaureate (IB), and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). While this model offers opportunities to enhance global competence and academic quality, its implementation remains complex and multidimensional. Schools must navigate policy alignment, teacher readiness, curriculum integration, assessment compatibility, and stakeholder coordination simultaneously. Despite growing scholarly attention, existing studies on dual-curriculum implementation remain fragmented, often focusing on isolated variables and failing to provide a comprehensive systemic synthesis. Addressing this gap, the present study employs a PRISMA-guided Systematic Literature Review of 20 peer-reviewed articles published between 2015 and 2025. Through thematic and bibliometric analyses, the study identifies dominant implementation challenges and evolving research trends. As its primary contribution, the research proposes the Integrated Dual Curriculum Implementation (IDCI) Model, a theory-grounded framework designed to support sustainable dual-curriculum practice and inform policy, leadership, and instructional strategies in Indonesia’s evolving education system.
