Abstract

This study employed the ADDIE development model to develop an Augmented Reality-based Interactive Map learning media on the topic of biodiversity of flora and fauna in Indonesia for Grade V students at SD Negeri 104204 Sambirejo Timur in the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The research subjects consisted of 20 fifth-grade students, 2 expert validators to assess the validity of the media, and 1 classroom teacher to evaluate its practicality in IPAS learning within the Merdeka Curriculum. The validation results from material and media experts indicated that the Augmented Reality-based Interactive Map learning media was categorized as highly feasible, with high percentages based on content, design, and language aspects. The practicality test conducted by the teacher and students also showed that the media was highly practical for use in learning, as reflected in students’ positive responses with assessment percentages above 90%. The evaluation results revealed a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, as evidenced by the comparison between pre-test and post-test scores. The average pre-test scores were in the low category, while the post-test scores increased to the very good category after the implementation of the learning media. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Augmented Reality-based Interactive Map learning media is highly feasible and practical to be used in IPAS learning and is effective in improving students’ understanding of biodiversity of flora and fauna in Indonesia.

Abstract

The education system is an integrated whole consisting of various interconnected components that work together to achieve national educational goals. This article aims to examine the structure and components of the education system in Indonesia, including the institutional structure of education, the relationships among educational subsystems, and the roles of the government and society in the delivery of education. The method used in writing this article is a literature review of various sources related to the national education system. The results of the study indicate that the education system in Indonesia consists of three main streams—formal, non-formal, and informal education—which complement one another in the process of lifelong learning. In addition, the education system also involves various subsystems such as curriculum, students, educators, facilities and infrastructure, financing, and evaluation, which are interdependent. The implementation of education also requires collaboration between the central government, local governments, and the community to create an effective and high-quality education system.

Abstract

This study examines the philosophical foundations within the education system through an analysis of major philosophical schools and the paradigms of humanistic, critical, and transformative education. The problem addressed in this research lies in the lack of comprehensive understanding of how philosophical perspectives shape educational goals, processes, and outcomes in contemporary contexts. Therefore, this study aims to explore the role and relevance of various philosophical streams in constructing educational paradigms that are responsive to human development and social change. This research employs a qualitative approach using the library research method, where data are collected from books, academic journals, and relevant scholarly sources, then analyzed descriptively and interpretatively. The findings reveal that humanistic philosophy emphasizes the development of learners’ potential and individuality, critical philosophy encourages awareness of social inequalities and fosters critical thinking, while transformative philosophy promotes education as a tool for social change and empowerment. These paradigms collectively provide a comprehensive framework for developing an education system that is not only academically oriented but also socially and morally responsive. Thus, integrating these philosophical foundations is essential for creating a holistic and meaningful educational practice

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the role of epistemology in improving the quality of learning in elementary schools. The problem addressed is the low quality of learning which tends to focus on knowledge transfer, resulting in students being less active and lacking critical thinking skills. This study employs a qualitative approach using a literature review method by analyzing various sources such as books, scientific journals, and relevant articles related to epistemology and learning. Data collection was conducted through documentation, while data analysis used content analysis techniques. The results indicate that epistemology plays a significant role as a foundation in understanding the nature of knowledge, sources of knowledge, and the process of acquiring and validating knowledge. The application of epistemology in learning encourages a shift from teacher-centered to student-centered learning. In addition, epistemology contributes to the development of students’ critical, reflective, and analytical thinking skills through a constructivist approach. The implication of applying epistemology is the creation of more active, meaningful, and contextual learning. Therefore, the integration of epistemology in learning is a strategic effort to improve the quality of education in elementary schools. Keywords: epistemology, learning quality, critical thinking, constructivism, elementary school

Abstract

This study aims to explain the Islamic perspective on human fitrah (innate disposition) and its implications within the context of Islamic education. As the most noble of creations, humans are endowed with fundamental potentials (fitrah) encompassing physical, intellectual, and spiritual aspects that must be optimally actualized. The research method employed is a literature review (library research) with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through documentation techniques from various relevant literatures, including books and scientific articles. The results indicate that human potential consists of four main dimensions: instinctive (emotional), sensory (physical), intellectual, and religious (spiritual) potentials. In the Islamic perspective, humans are born in a state of purity (fitrah) and carry an innate inclination toward monotheism (tawhid). Although born without actual knowledge, humans are equipped with tools such as the senses, reason, and heart to acquire knowledge from their environment. This concept of fitrah has direct implications for Islamic education, where education serves as a means to develop these potentials so that humans can fulfill their mission as servants of Allah ('abd) and vicegerents on earth (khalifah). Islamic education must be directed toward preserving the purity of fitrah and guiding human intellectual, social, and aesthetic potentials toward worldly prosperity and happiness in the hereafter. In conclusion, a comprehensive understanding of fitrah serves as the theoretical foundation that determines the direction, methods, and goals of effective Islamic education.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited effectiveness of local culture introduction in early childhood education, where cultural learning is often delivered superficially without integrating local wisdom values. The objective of this research is to describe the implementation of local wisdom-based learning in introducing local culture to early childhood, identify the forms of learning activities used, and examine teachers’ efforts in enhancing children's cultural understanding. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation of classroom activities, interviews with teachers, and documentation of learning processes in early childhood education settings. The results indicate that local wisdom-based learning can be effectively implemented through various activities such as introducing traditional clothing, traditional games, local songs, storytelling, and the use of culturally relevant learning media. Teachers play a crucial role in designing contextual and engaging learning experiences that align with children's developmental characteristics. Such approaches enable children to understand and appreciate their local culture more meaningfully. Therefore, integrating local wisdom into early childhood learning is an effective strategy to foster cultural awareness, strengthen identity, and cultivate a sense of pride and love for local heritage from an early age.

Abstract

Assessment development using the Wordwall application is the process of creating an interactive assessment tool using the Wordwall application. The purpose of this study was to determine the feasibility level as well as the practicality of the assessment products developed. This research is a development research (Research and Development) with a 3D research model (Define, Design and Develop) modification of the 4D research model developed by Thiagarajan. The validation results from material experts are 95% which are included in the very valid category. The results of validation from media and language experts are 92.5% which is included in the very valid category. The results of small group trials by 8 students were 92.5% which is still in the very practical category. The results of the large group trial by 27 students were 96% which was in the very practical category. From these results, the assessment product using the Wordwall application is declared valid and also practical for use in learning activities. Furthermore, it is hoped that th is assessment product can be applied to other subjects so that it helps teachers and students to teach and learn better.
