Abstract

This study examines communication ethics based on Ephesians 4:29 in responding to hate speech in the digital age. Three main problems are identified: the increasing polarization between groups, the degradation of ethical communication values among Christians, and the minimal implementation of biblical communication principles in the digital context. Using a qualitative method through comprehensive literature review of the Bible, academic articles, and other relevant sources, this research analyzes the communication principles found in Ephesians 4:29. The analysis reveals three fundamental principles: avoiding corrupt speech, speaking words that build up, and prioritizing peace for the hearers. These principles carry theological implications that can be applied as ethical guidelines for Christian communities in responding to hate speech on social media, particularly in the contexts of churches, schools, and families. This research provides a significant contribution to the development of a constructive digital communication paradigm grounded in Christian values.

Abstract

Academic literature within Pentecostal circles reveals a lack of adequate theological reflection on the Lord’s Supper. Pentecostal theologians themselves acknowledge the limited development and theological contribution in this area. This study seeks to offer a constructive theological contribution by engaging in a conceptual dialogue between John Calvin’s view and Pentecostal theology regarding the Lord’s Supper. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with a literature analysis approach, the study finds that the Pentecostal understanding tends to align with Zwingli’s symbolic view, which appears inconsistent with the Pneumatological nature of Pentecostal theology. In contrast, Calvin emphasizes the spiritual presence of Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit. This research identifies a common ground between Calvin’s theology and Pentecostal thought in the central role of the Holy Spirit in the Lord’s Supper. Consequently, the Lord’s Supper may be reinterpreted as a Pneumatic Supper, resonating with the Pentecostal experience of encountering Christ through the Spirit.

Abstract

This article discusses the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and its impact on educational services at the Setia Pontianak School. The Independent Curriculum is an educational policy that emphasizes learning that is flexible, student-centered, and contextual according to local needs. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation studies. The results of the analysis show that the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at Setia School has encouraged a significant transformation in learning practices, including the use of a differentiation approach, problem-based projects, and strengthening formative assessments. In addition, increasing teacher capacity and strengthening collaboration between stakeholders also supports the creation of an inclusive and responsive learning environment. Even though there are challenges such as limited resources and educator readiness, overall the Merdeka Curriculum makes a positive contribution to improving the quality of educational services. These findings indicate the need for ongoing assistance and evaluation so that curriculum implementation can run optimally and sustainably.

Abstract

Philosophy plays a crucial role in shaping theological thought and contributing to Christian religious education. Throughout history, philosophy has served as an instrument for understanding existence, morality, and truth, influencing the development of theological education methods. However, the digital era presents new challenges in conveying Christian teachings. The ease of access to information has led to the widespread dissemination of theological interpretations that do not always align with sound doctrine, necessitating a systematic philosophical approach to uphold the integrity of Christian education. This study employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach, focusing on historical and conceptual analysis. The data sources consist of books, scholarly journals, and academic documents that discuss the historical development of philosophy and its implications for Christian religious education in the digital era. The analytical technique applied is philosophical hermeneutics to interpret philosophical concepts in relation to the transformation of theological education. The findings reveal that philosophical thought from various eras has significantly influenced theological teaching methods, particularly within rationalist, scholastic, and postmodernist frameworks. The primary challenge for Christian education lies in utilizing technology wisely without compromising spiritual essence. The integration of critical philosophy and apologetics emerges as a key strategy in fostering a strong understanding of faith amid the rapid spread of digital information. Christian religious education must adapt to technological advancements while steadfastly upholding fundamental faith values.

Abstract

Pendidikan agama Kristen memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter dan spiritualitas peserta didik berdasarkan nilai-nilai iman Kristen. Namun, dalam praktiknya, pembelajaran PAK masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti kurangnya metode yang sistematis, belum optimalnya pemanfaatan teknologi, serta minimnya evaluasi berbasis data. Untuk mengatasi hal tersebut, model desain pembelajaran ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) yang dikembangkan oleh Reiser dan Molenda menawarkan pendekatan yang sistematis, fleksibel, dan berbasis evaluasi dalam merancang pembelajaran yang efektif. Kajian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur dengan mengkaji berbagai sumber primer dan sekunder yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model ADDIE dapat diterapkan secara efektif dalam konteks PAK melalui lima tahap utama: analisis kebutuhan dan karakteristik peserta didik, perancangan strategi pembelajaran berbasis nilai Kristiani, pengembangan bahan ajar yang kontekstual dan menarik, implementasi dengan pendekatan interaktif dan teknologi, serta evaluasi berkelanjutan untuk perbaikan kualitas pembelajaran. Meskipun model ini memiliki keunggulan dalam strukturnya yang terarah dan fleksibel, penerapannya juga menuntut sumber daya yang memadai serta adaptasi terhadap tantangan birokrasi. Dengan penerapan yang disesuaikan, model ADDIE berpotensi menjadikan pembelajaran PAK lebih inovatif, relevan, dan mampu mendorong pertumbuhan iman peserta didik. Kajian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi kontribusi dalam pengembangan strategi pembelajaran PAK yang lebih efektif dan kontekstual.

Abstract

Keluarga merupakan lembaga pertama di dunia yang didirikan langsung oleh Allah dan memberkati suami istri untuk beranakcucu dan berkuasa atas ciptaan lainnya di bumi. Keluarga kristen sebagai wadah persekutuan dengan Allah. Dalam keluarga Kristen suami istri memiliki peran dan tanggung jawabnya masing-masing. Suami berperan dan bertanggung jawab sebagai nabi, imam dan raja. Peran dan tanggung jawab suami sebagai nabi yaitu mengajarkan firman Tuhan bagi keluarga, sebagai imam untuk membangun mezbah bagi keluarga, sebagai suami sebagai raja untuk memenuhi kebutuhan jasmani keluarga. Sedangkan peran dan tanggung jawab istri dalam keluarga untuk mengelola rumah dan pendidik bagi anak-anak, mencintai suami dan mengasihi anak-anak, serta menjadi teladan dalam kesalehan. Jadi, peran dan tanggung jawab suami istri dalam keluarga untuk menciptakan keluarga yang harmonis. Adapun metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran dan tanggung jawab suami istri dalam keluarga agar tercipta keluarga Kristen yang harmonis dan mencerminkan kerajaan Allah di bumi.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the gap between the Christian Religious Education (PAK) curriculum, which promotes active, participatory, and student-centered learning, and the prevailing classroom practices that remain largely one-way and cognitively oriented. The research aims to analyze the influence of teachers’ pedagogical competence, differentiated instruction strategies, and humanistic approaches on the quality of PAK learning in Christian Theological High Schools (SMTK). A quantitative approach was used with an explanatory survey method involving 129 respondents, consisting of students from SMTKs in Jakarta and Banten. The results of multiple linear regression analysis show that all three variables simultaneously have a significant effect on learning quality (F = 125.921; p < 0.001), with a contribution of 75.1%. Partially, the humanistic approach has the most dominant influence (59.6%), followed by pedagogical competence (25.8%), while differentiated instruction was not statistically significant. These findings highlight the importance of responsive and relational teacher professionalism in PAK.

Abstract

This study explores the role of Christian Religious Education in building awareness of the ecological crisis. The purpose of the study is to identify the contribution of teachers or educators in forming ecological awareness in Christian educational environments. The method used in compiling this article is a qualitative research method with literature studies. Through in-depth theological research, this study provides a comprehensive picture of the role of Christian religious education in instilling and building ecological awareness for students. The results of the study indicate that the awareness that God is the creator, God who blesses and gives mandates is an important theological foundation to understand in relation to ecological awareness. That both educators and students must have the same awareness of the reality of environmental damage in various places. Thus, this study confirms that Christian Religious Education has a significant role in helping students not only in relation to spiritual problems but also in understanding ecology so that they are prepared to become environmental conservation actors and act as agents of change for the continuation of the preservation of nature and all its contents.

Abstract

This research examines the application of the Masseroi Tondok tradition in the culture of the Seko community in Malimongan Village, Seko District, through a theological approach. Masseroi Tondok, which means "cleaning or organizing the village", is a traditional tradition that contains strong spiritual and social values. The main aim of this research is to explore the theological meaning contained in the implementation of this tradition and its implications for the religious and cultural life of the local community. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a contextual theological approach, through in-depth interviews, participatory observation and literature study. The results of the study show that the Masseroi Tondok tradition not only functions as a traditional ritual, but also reflects divine values, such as gratitude, purity and harmony with nature and fellow humans. This tradition also strengthens cultural identity and builds social solidarity of the Seko community. These findings indicate that there is close integration between theological values ​​and local wisdom in the cultural practices of the Seko community.

Abstract

The emergence of various research methods used in theological higher education is interesting to observe. Field research at the bachelor of Theology level is very popular, while the systematic theology literature research method that has been carried out so far is consideredless scientific, and is only stigmatized as “a kind” of sermone writing. In the end, the framework / structure of the thesis content follows the framework of the field research content, in order to appear scientific. Therefore the purpose of this paper reaffirms the uniqueness theology literature, searching for books, articles related to library research method, through google scholar, and printed books. Second, choosing books, articles on library research methods. Third, making systematic theology books the main source in the study in line with expertise in fiels of systematic theology studies. As a result, using the framework of qualitative field research content, for systematic theology literature research is not not appropriate. The uniqueness of systematic theological literature research is in line with the task of theology, which is evaluative, corrective and formulative for christian teachings, so that it is full of criticism, reaffirmation, and construction of teachings that are true and relevant teachings for the current context.
