Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of coffee farmer groups in post-harvest processing and professional coffee quality assessment, as well as to improve farmers’ understanding of coffee flavor profiles in order to increase their competitiveness in the market. The program was implemented through training and mentoring activities involving 35 coffee farmers from the “Muda Maju Tanjung Biru” group. Program evaluation was conducted using questionnaires and analyzed with a non-parametric statistical test (McNemar’s test). The results indicate that the training was effective in improving the partners’ knowledge and skills, as evidenced by a 79% increase in participants’ average knowledge scores after the program. In the cupping score training, 40% of participants (14 farmers) successfully achieved basic scoring competency. Overall, this community service program has proven to enhance farmers’ professionalism in coffee post-harvest processing and quality evaluation.

Abstract

This community service program aims to foster character development and moral values among children in Sukorejo Village in response to the challenges of digitalization that may negatively affect positive moral values. The program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach implemented through five stages: socialization, training, technology application, mentoring and evaluation, and program sustainability. The outcomes of the program resulted in two main outputs: an age-appropriate innovation of the Langen Bekso dance and the development of the Langen Bekso website as a digital information platform presenting the history, cultural values, and artistic activities of the Paguyuban Rahayu Ngremboko community. The simplification of dance movements facilitated children’s learning, fostered pride in local culture, and strengthened discipline and togetherness. In addition, regular psychosocial mentoring and moral education classes contributed to the development of positive character traits, such as honesty, responsibility, and empathy. Educational efforts and the rebranding of Langen Bekso also enhanced community understanding of the relevance of traditional arts in the modern era, thereby promoting the sustainable preservation of local culture.

Abstract

This community service program aims to integrate a green project through the production of Tatakura (Takakura Home Method) compost into the school curriculum as a form of environmental education and sustainable learning. The program was implemented at SMPN 10 Pekanbaru and involved 25 students and four science teachers through stages of socialization, hands-on compost production, mentoring, and the application of the compost to school plants. The activity employed a Participatory Action Research approach that emphasized the active involvement of both teachers and students. Evaluation was conducted using learning achievement tests, environmental awareness attitude questionnaires, and partner satisfaction surveys. The data were analyzed descriptively by comparing mean scores and achievement percentages. The results indicate an improvement in students’ average scores from 84.8 to 87.2, an environmental awareness level of 88%, and partner satisfaction rates of 100% among teachers and 97% among students. These findings demonstrate that the program is effective in supporting the integration of environmental education and the implementation of Education for Sustainable Development.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance women’s knowledge and skills through the application of economic education to strengthen entrepreneurship and financial management among members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) cadres in Banjar Dinas Santal, Mayong Village, Bali. The program was implemented using a participatory approach that included education, training, and mentoring activities. Program evaluation was conducted through comparisons of pre-test and post-test results, analysis of business financial records, and assessment of improvements in digital marketing comprehension. Data were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results indicate a significant improvement in the capacity of PKK cadres in financial management, financial record-keeping, and digital marketing. The average score for basic financial management understanding increased from 70 to 90, reflecting improved mastery of business financial planning and recording concepts. Approximately 90% of participants have consistently implemented structured financial record-keeping systems. In addition, 86.7% of PKK cadres demonstrated proficiency in digital marketing techniques, particularly in utilizing social media as a promotional tool. These findings confirm that the implemented community service program was effective in enhancing partners’ competencies, business independence, and professionalism.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the competencies of teachers at SD YPK Ermasu in developing locally based science modules supported by artificial intelligence (AI) to improve students’ scientific literacy and critical thinking skills. The program was implemented through training and mentoring activities involving 22 teachers. Evaluation instruments included a 20-item multiple-choice test, short interviews, and documentation. Data analysis employed the Gain Score method to identify differences between teachers’ initial and final competencies following the training. The results indicate a Gain Score of 0.56, which falls into the moderate category, demonstrating a positive impact on teachers’ skills in designing locally contextualized science modules using AI. This improvement is evidenced by differences between pre-test and post-test results. In addition, interview findings reveal that teachers felt assisted by the use of AI in developing instructional modules. The teachers also expressed expectations for the continuation of similar programs to further support their understanding and professional development.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance the capacity of the Women Farmers Group (KWT) in understanding, producing, and applying locally sourced Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) to support plant growth during the vegetative phase. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of socialization, training, and evaluation stages. Evaluation was conducted using questionnaires and observation sheets, and the data were analyzed descriptively using qualitative and quantitative percentage-based methods. The initial survey revealed that only 43% of participants had previously used LOF, 6% had produced it, while 97% expressed willingness to learn how to produce LOF. The training results demonstrated an improvement in participants’ knowledge and skills in LOF production, as well as the emergence of community initiatives to implement LOF in crop cultivation. The findings indicate that the community service program successfully enhanced the capacity of the KWT to utilize local organic materials as natural fertilizer sources and strengthened awareness of the importance of sustainable agricultural practices based on local resources.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of palm sugar artisan groups in Teluk Bakung Village in terms of production, quality, marketing, and business management as an effort to strengthen the competitiveness of palm sugar–based MSMEs. The program was implemented using a participatory approach that included stages of socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation. Evaluation instruments consisted of observation sheets to assess technical skills and comprehension questionnaires to measure managerial understanding, which were analyzed using descriptive comparative methods. The results indicate a significant increase in daily production capacity through the adoption of appropriate technology in the form of a grinding machine. Product quality also improved, as evidenced by finer and more hygienic physical characteristics, along with the establishment of the “Arentapure” brand identity. In addition, partners successfully expanded their market reach through social media and began implementing simple financial record-keeping systems separate from household finances. These findings demonstrate that the program is effective in transforming traditional enterprises into more professional business units with strong potential for long-term economic sustainability.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance teachers’ competencies in developing science practicum guidelines to foster elementary school students’ critical thinking skills. The program employed a Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach involving 20 elementary school teachers in Sakatiga, Seberang Ogan Ilir. Program evaluation was conducted using written tests (pre-tests and post-tests), observation sheets, interviews, and reflective discussions. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The results indicate a significant improvement in teachers’ competencies. The average pre-test scores were categorized as moderate, while post-test results improved to a very good category after teachers participated in the training and mentoring activities. In addition, the quality of the instructional products developed by the teachers also improved, and enhanced teacher competencies were reflected in classroom instructional practices. The impact on students was evidenced by increased active participation, enthusiasm, and confidence in asking questions and expressing opinions during science practicum activities.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance participants’ Islamic financial literacy, bookkeeping skills, and awareness of the importance of ideal budget allocation in accordance with the Financial Services Authority (OJK) standards, enabling housewives to manage family income more balancedly and with a future-oriented perspective. The program was implemented using a participatory education approach, and its outcomes were evaluated through pre-test and post-test analyses. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ understanding of family financial planning based on Islamic principles, particularly in incorporating components such as investments, emergency savings, and zakat into household budgets. Furthermore, participants became capable of preparing more proportional budgets and understanding ideal expenditure allocations, including a recommended minimum investment of 5%–15% of income. Investment interest increased significantly, with 89% of participants expressing willingness to allocate a portion of their income for investment, primarily in gold, bank savings, land, and deposits. Overall, the program was deemed successful, as evidenced by full participant engagement and measurable improvements in financial literacy and investment interest.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve students’ and teachers’ knowledge and skills in producing Eco Enzymes as an environmentally friendly solution through project-based learning at MA Muallimat NWDI Pancor. The program applies a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach involving 65 students and three biology teachers. Evaluation data are collected using questionnaires and analyzed descriptively. The results show that 96% of students understand the concept of Eco Enzymes, 94% comprehend their benefits, 93% demonstrate adequate skills in the Eco Enzyme production process, and 96% exhibit positive environmental attitudes, particularly in converting organic waste into Eco Enzymes. These findings imply that teachers and students are capable of processing locally available organic waste into beneficial Eco Enzyme products, thereby supporting environmentally sustainable practices.
