Abstract

Community empowerment in an effort to prevent narcotics abuse is needed to protect the nation's future generations, thus it will help create a great community and independent village and will be able to create more creativity and wider work. The problem that occurs is community empowerment against the legal consequences of narcotics abuse in Naumbai Village, Kampar District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The purpose of community service activities that will be carried out is to provide knowledge and understanding of the importance of staying away from narcotics so as to create a healthy and creative society. The benefits are expected to have a good impact in terms of health, economy and social so that women can help the family economy and village communities, so that the people of Naumbai Village, Kampar District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province can obey and obey the law and are not involved in narcotics abuse.

Abstract

Kemuning Lor Village, Jember majority working as a farmer and animal breeders especially cattle. Recorded 15 people from a total number of cattle with a total of 32 cows. One cow usually produces 10-15 kg of manure per day. According to the survey we have conducted, 5 out of 10 residents of Kemuning Lor are not aware of the use of cow dung in biogas. Volunteer activities in Kemuning Lor aim to provide education to residents in overcoming the problem of cow dung to be processed into biogas to deal with environmental pollution problems. Desa Sadar Energi program was initiated in Kemuning Lor to raise awareness from cow dung into energy that is sustainable and environmentally friendly. The implementation method consisted of pre-socialization interviews, socialization, and post-socialization interviews. There is a 72% increase in public understanding regarding the definition and use of biogas. Biogas with a digester volume of 9 m3 is equivalent to LPG of 4.14 kg. The processing of cow dung waste into biogas can reduce the cost of expenditure for household LPG so that it is more economical and the raw material, cow dung, which is abundant and sustainable, is very easy to reach by the society.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia had a significant impact on the industrial sector. One of them is the natural rubber industry which has experienced a decline due to export restrictions from natural rubber export destination countries. This has a direct impact on rubber farmers who suffer financial losses. The formation of a new natural rubber downstream industry for natural rubber modified asphalt is a solution to increase national rubber consumption without relying on exports. Therefore, the purpose of carrying out the asphalt title test based on natural rubber type crepe rubber is to evaluate technical feasibility and educate the public about using natural rubber for domestic needs. This service method consists of several stages: observing the absorption potential of natural rubber, analyzing technical feasibility, and evaluating the degree test of natural rubber modified asphalt. The degree test was carried out on the 10-meter road around the Faculty of Engineering, Riau University. The results of the degree test show that the modified asphalt raw material is based on crepe rubber, the asphalt sample marshall test that was held, and the core drill test meets the 2018 Highways standard. The degree test that has been carried out can educate the community and rubber farmers through APKARKUSI regarding natural rubber processing technology and compound making. Crepe rubber and the technology of making modified asphalt and applying modified asphalt for roads.

Abstract

Mina Sejahtera's (Sun Ti Sukaku) Micro and Small Enterprises (MSE) is a business group that has a legal entity consisting of 10 members with products in the form of badoghak noodles and spicy sauce fishball noodles. Badoghak comes from the Kampar District language which means savory taste. The purpose of implementing this activity for the community is to train the Mina Sejahtera MSE group in creating new innovations in processing fishery products in the form of Badoghak Noodles and Spicy Sauce Fishball noodles as regional superior products that are economically viable. The benefits of this activity in addition to the formation of MSE groups that can make both badoghak noodles and spicy sauce fishball noodles products so that in the end they can increase the income of the MSEs group, they can also develop the potential of the area. From the results of this activity, it was found that training in new product development innovation in the Mina Sejahtera MSE group has been successfully implemented and has been introduced/promoted both at the local and national scale. Furthermore, this product has also been able to improve the community's economy, especially the Mina Sejahtera MSE group.

Abstract

Sea cucumbers which have the scientific name Holothuroidea are fishery commodities that have high economic value and are in great demand in the global market. Sea cucumbers are the main commodity of Benan Village which is the outermost island of Lingga district. Most of the people in Benan Village work as sea cucumber fishermen. As an aquatic resource owned by the village, sea cucumbers are still constrained in terms of handling so that it reduces the selling value of the dried sea cucumbers produced. Therefore, it is important to empower the people of Benan Village regarding the postharvest handling of sea cucumbers which aims to improve the quality as well as directly increase the selling value of that resources. Community empowerment activities are expected to add insight and improve the ability of the Benan Village community in handling sea cucumbers post-harvest. Empowerment was carried out through three methods, namely the distribution of questionnaires and discussions in the form of questions and answers with the Benan Village community group regarding the problem process in handling post-harvest sea cucumbers, which was carried out after distributing questionnaires to the sea cucumber aquaculture community, then education and discussion on good procedures were carried out in post-harvest handling. To improve the quality of this sea cucumber commodity, then in the third stage, mentoring and practice regarding the correct handling of sea cucumbers is carried out to produce good quality sea cucumbers from washing to packaging. The selection of discussion methods, lectures/education, and direct practice is considered effective in increasing public knowledge about the process of handling sea cucumbers postharvest properly and correctly, considering that the target stakeholders are sea cucumber farmers.

Abstract

Chlorella Jelly Genki is a kind of health drink to increase the immune system or the level of people's immunity from various diseases including Covid-19 which is packaged in plastic cups that can be sold commercially at a price of Rp. 10,000/cup. Within 10 months from September 2020 to July 2021, 5321 cups have been sold with consumers from various circles including academics from universities such as students and lecturers at the Riau University and Riau Islamic University, Government Employees, Members of the Riau Regional House of Representatives, and the congregation of mosques such as the Rodatul Jannah mosque, Pekanbaru and the general public. To further increase the marketing reach of Chlorella Jelly Genki to the wider community, various strategies or efforts are needed, including developing websites using digital technology and marketing promotions through community service activities by involving student groups as the driving force through integrated Community Service Activities. Abdimas in 2021. This Community Service activity has been carried out from May 2021 to early August 2021, the report of which is presented in this paper. The first way is by developing a digital technology website and marketing promotion through social media in the form of a home page, which can be done under the name: http://genkinusantara.com/. While the second way is to directly invite the target community group to come to the Algae Research Center. The results of this community service show that of the 244 people who were invited, 115 people or 47.1% of them expressed their willingness to become a distributor or selling agent of Chlorella Jelly Genki. While 26 people (10.7%) were still unsure or still needed further consideration to become a distributor or sales agent, 94 people (38.5%) firmly stated that they were not or not yet willing and 94 people (38.5%) ) people (3.7%) did not provide an answer. All participants who attended stated that Chlorella Jelly Genki was delicious and very suitable to be developed in Riau and also in Indonesia.

Abstract

The lack of innovation and creativity causes many tourist destinations during this pandemic to have no distinction from other tourist destinations. Though there are many opportunities from the village that can be developed and then integrated between each other to support the peculiarities of a region. The same is true of PuntukrejoVillage. Puntukrejo Village which is the main access to the entrance to Ngargoyoso District offers a variety of natural and cultural tourist destinations. Puntukrejo village has one of the preferred tourist destinations, namely The Lawu Fresh which is an agrotourism pioneer cultivating dekopon oranges, honey gourds, bottled pumpkins, and vegetables. However, since the pandemic, the number of tourist visits at The Lawu Fresh has dropped dramatically. This is due to the lack of innovation made by the village in developing the tourist village. Therefore, the service team in collaboration with partner villages aims to make creative tourism innovations in the form of Educative and Creative Camping with the concept of Indian Night, improve the marketing system of Puntukrejo Village's Flagship MSME products, and realize the existence of MSMEs with dual roles as production centers and destinations in the Jeep Adventure travel package series. The method of community empowerment used in this devotional activity is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). Methods that apply the active role of partner villages together with service teams in developing village potential. The result of this devotion is the rise of community skills in marketing tourist attractions and MSME products owned by the village through various social media such as Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook, and Youtube. This skill increase goes hand in hand with the increasing number of tourists who come to village tourist attractions, as well as also buying village MSME products.

Abstract

The World Health Organization has designated Covid-19 as a pandemic that causes activities outside the home to be restricted. In order to maintain health during the pandemic, many people are starting to choose foodstuffs produced from organic farming. The purpose of this activity is to provide information and motivation to society for reuse household waste with appropriate technology to produce compost. This service activity was carried out in Air Dingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru. The initial stage conveys material about the importance of maintaining health during the pandemic by consuming organic vegetables and fruits grown in their respective yards. Furthermore, the practice of making compost using the direct-use compost method and composting in a composter pot. Composting that reuses household waste has succeeded in opening up insight into the importance of the community's role in personal and environmental health and the public's understanding that a healthy life doesn't have to be expensive. In this activity, the participants showed their enthusiasm and stated that they would practice and share their knowledge with others in making compost to overcome the problem of household waste. This activity is also beneficial to keep the environment clean, healthy and beautiful.

Abstract

Increasing the production capacity of the business unit at the Mis Hubbullah charity house to develop and improve the business unit so that it is expected to increase income that supports the Education program at the Mis Hubbullah charity house, one of the sources of animal protein that is widely consumed by the public, easy to obtain is fish and the price is cheap, but Fish quickly undergo a process of decay, so it is necessary to preserve fish. Preservation of fish aims to reduce the water content in the fish body so that it does not provide an opportunity for bacteria to breed. Fish undergo the process of decay quickly compared to other foodstuffs. To increase sales value and income, it is necessary to give a touch of innovation so that it can add business units and attract public interest. Therefore, in this community service activity, counseling was carried out on the diversification of processed catfish meat products into practical and more quality catfish nugget products. In addition, training on making catfish nuggets was conducted. Potential targets who will be given counseling are students from the Al-Ansar Mis Hubbullah Foundation.

Abstract

The potential of Pulau Jambu in the agricultural aspect, especially Siamese oranges, is a potential in itself. The majority of the work of people in Pulau Jambu, Kuok District as Siamese orange farmers and the abundance of Siamese oranges in Pulau Jambu are one of the reasons for the purpose of this community service. The problem faced by Siamese orange farmers is they have lack of knowledge and skills in processing Siamese oranges so that the harvested Siamese oranges so far are only sold in fresh, not in processed. The method implemented in this community service activity is by providing guidance and training from the production aspect and the business management aspect. The training provided is processing Siamese oranges in the form of jam and drinks with the addition of pineapple which is also a local potential of Kampar Regency.
