Abstract

The study aims to design and analyze the effects of multimedia use on the Quran study for young children. Research takes place through two stages. First, using the method of Research and Development (R & D) to design the media to be used. Second: A quantitative method with a type of correlation to see how the use of media to learners in the study of the Koran will affect them. To produce properly functional and operational media products, the author tests the validity of two experts in each field. Next, to note the effects of the media use produced, observation was made during the learning process in the class and on the test sheets of the learner's work. Research shows that, first, the resulting media can function and operate properly as a Koran learning medium. Second, the resulting multimedia use has affected learners' learning, which is shown by the increased value of post-test participants to 2.73 from a previously pre-test score of 2.07. Even the sharpness of the learning result reached 80%, indicative of a significant increase of 0.66. Referring to the results of this study, the multimedia produced could be used as one of the alternatives for teachers in the Quran study for young children.

Abstract

The study was to analyze the driving factors of one's entry into Islam (muallaf), and the development of education in those "converted" communities. The study was conducted using qualitative methods with a phenomenology approach in lapela village of the spooky eastern Province of Maluku, Indonesia. The data sources were taken using individual interviews of sixteen informers made up of the people, the people, the customs, the religious leaders, and the people living in the mualaf village. To supplement the interviews, the authors also made four-month live observations at the research site. All data of the interview and thematically analyzed observations are using NVivo 12 software. As a whole, the findings suggest, that one: of the six factors leading to mass conversion: i) (the living, ii) self-interest, iii)) conflict between religions, v) the role of religious leaders, and vi) the teaching of Islam is easily studied and understood by society. Second; Associated with educational phenomena are found four problematic societies studying Islamic religion: i) lack of competence and knowledge of educators, ii) inadequate means and infrastructure, iii), low levels of people's economy and iv) geographic conditions that resulted in limited access to religious activities. The results of this study can be used as the preliminary data for later researchers to examine the problem in different contexts and issues.

The study used a qualitative method with a case study design approach. The data source was drawn from the three informants through deep interviews chosen using impressive sampling techniques. All the informers were teachers of the history of Islamic culture. The entire interview was analyzed thematically using nvivo software 12. Research shows the four attempts made by teachers to improve learners' literacy. The four are i) perform cooperative or group learning, ii) perform oral tests, iii) provide school reading or madding, and iv) make a ten-minute reading movement before beginning the lesson. The four attempts of teachers in this study can be set as an example for teachers in the history of Islamic culture, and schools to improve literacy cultures among learners.
