Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of intrinsic motivation, adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in learning, and self-efficacy on the academic achievement of high school students. More understanding is needed regarding the psychological and technological aspects that affect students' ability to learn, along with the digital revolution that is currently taking place in education. Analysis of 100 high school student respondents who completed a survey became the basis for this quantitative study. Multiple linear regression methods were used to analyse data collected through questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. This study shows that students' academic achievement is positively influenced by intrinsic motivation. Students who use AI technologies such as virtual tutors and adaptive learning applications have better academic results than those who do not. This is one of the positive outcomes of integrating AI into the learning process. Self-efficacy, a mediating variable, strengthens the relationship between intrinsic motivation and academic achievement. This highlights the importance of self-belief in supporting the effectiveness of learning driven by internal motivation. These findings emphasise the importance of developing learning strategies that arouse students' intrinsic motivation, strengthen self-efficacy, and encourage optimal utilisation of AI technology. The implications of this study provide recommendations for schools, educators, and policymakers to integrate innovative approaches that support technology adaptation and student psychological strengthening to improve academic achievement in the digital era.

Abstract

Religious diversity in Indonesia represents both a strength and a challenge in fostering national unity, particularly in the context of higher education. As the world's largest archipelagic nation with six officially recognized religions, Indonesia upholds Pancasila as its foundational philosophy, with the first principle being "Belief in One Supreme God." This study investigates the role of student religious organizations at Politeknik Pariwisata Bali (Poltekpar Bali) in reinforcing this principle while simultaneously promoting interfaith harmony and inclusivity among students from various faith backgrounds. Employing a qualitative research methodology, this study utilizes literature review and participatory observation to examine the contributions of student-led religious organizations, including Rohkristo (Christian and Catholic students), KAMHD (Hindu students), IKLIM (Muslim students), and KMB (Buddhist students). Findings indicate that these organizations not only serve as spaces for spiritual growth and religious expression but also play a significant role in fostering cross-cultural understanding through a variety of collaborative initiatives. These include interfaith dialogues, joint community service projects, disaster relief efforts, environmental campaigns, and shared celebrations of religious holidays. Such activities cultivate an atmosphere of respect, empathy, and peaceful coexistence among students of different beliefs. By engaging in constructive interreligious engagement, student religious organizations at Poltekpar Bali contribute meaningfully to the embodiment of Pancasila values in a pluralistic educational environment. This study underscores the importance of empowering student-led religious communities as key actors in promoting social cohesion, interfaith solidarity, and the ethical development of future tourism professionals in Indonesia's multicultural society.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) method in improving student learning outcomes in the subject of Tarikh at SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta in the 2024/2025 academic year. The background of this study is based on the importance of using a learning model that can increase active student participation, especially in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This aims to ensure that student understanding is not merely theoretical or relies on memorization, but can be applied in real life. PjBL is appropriate because it focuses on contextual, collaborative, project-based learning and emphasizes problem solving. The approach used is quantitative with a comparative research type. The research sample involved 36 grade XII IPS students selected using purposive sampling. The instruments used were a pre-test and a post-test to measure differences in learning outcomes before and after implementing PjBL. Data analysis was carried out using a paired t-test. The analysis showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes after using the PjBL method, with an average pre-test score of 58.39 and a post-test score of 70.81. A 2-tailed significance value (Sig.) of 0.000 (<0.05) indicates that the increase is statistically significant. Thus, the PjBL method has proven effective in improving learning outcomes while developing critical thinking skills, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of the Tarikh material. This research contributes to developing Islamic Religious Education learning models that are more innovative, interactive, and in line with the demands of learning in the 21st century.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Direct Learning Model (DLM) integrated with animated media in improving student learning outcomes on the topic of heat and expansion in junior high school. Initial observations at SMP Negeri 3 Muara Tiga revealed that conventional DLM was predominantly teacher-centred, lacked engaging media, and resulted in student boredom and low retention. To address this issue, the study employed animated media, which has the advantage of concretising abstract scientific concepts and enhancing student motivation. This research utilised a mixed-method approach combining qualitative and quantitative analysis. The design applied was a one-group pre-test and post-test model. The sample consisted of seventh-grade students selected through cluster random sampling. Data were collected through multiple-choice tests and interviews. The pre-test and post-test assessed cognitive outcomes, while interviews explored students’ difficulties in understanding physics concepts using animated media. The results showed a significant improvement in learning outcomes, with the average pre-test score of 60.1 increasing to 81 in the post-test. The N-Gain score was 0.5, indicating a moderate improvement. Statistical analysis also confirmed a significant correlation between the use of animated media and enhanced learning outcomes. In conclusion, the implementation of the Direct Learning Model using animated media positively affects student learning outcomes in science, especially on abstract topics like heat and expansion. However, some students experienced challenges, particularly in connecting animation with scientific concepts, indicating the need for scaffolding in media integration.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of using the Wattpad application as a digital medium on students' reading skills at Budisatrya High School in Indonesian language lessons. The main reason for conducting this research in the context of Indonesian language learning and the urgency of innovative teaching methods due to the characteristics of the digital generation is the low interest of students in reading activities. This study applied a quasi-experimental design and quantitative methodology. The research subjects were divided into two groups: a control group implementing traditional techniques and an experimental group utilizing Wattpad as a learning aid. The difference between the average pre-test score of 41.5 and 56.6 on the post-test indicated that the reading skills of the experimental group had improved significantly. Conversely, the control group only experienced an increase from an average of 37.5 to 43.5. The t-test results showed a significance value of 0.009 (<0.05), indicating a statistically significant difference between the two groups. Normality and homogeneity tests also proved that the data met the parameters for the t-test. In addition, the survey results showed that children were more motivated and interested in using Wattpad because the content was appropriate for their age and interests. According to the study's findings, using Wattpad as a digital tool can help children become more skilled readers and develop an interest in digital literacy. Educators should incorporate digital media into their lessons to make learning more engaging and relevant.

Abstract

Many students struggle to write systematic observation reports due to a weak understanding of text structure and idea development techniques. Based on these problems, this study aims to analyze the effect of implementing mind mapping techniques as an alternative writing learning strategy. The study used a quantitative approach, a quasi-experimental design, and a Nonequivalent Control Group design. Two classes were included as samples: class VIII-4 (experimental) and VIII-5 (control). In the learning process, mind mapping techniques were used in the experimental class, while the control class used a conventional approach. Data were obtained from writing tests and then analyzed using statistical tests. The pretest results showed that the initial abilities of both groups were relatively balanced (control 67.4 and experimental 67.12).Meanwhile, the posttest scores showed a higher increase in the experimental class (80.89) compared to the control class (77.07). These findings indicate that using mind mapping positively impacts students' writing skills, especially in identifying main ideas and organizing texts systematically. This study implies that mind mapping can be an effective alternative learning strategy in junior high schools.

Abstract

A leader holds full responsibility for all risks that occur in the institution they lead. Every policy taken is the result of a thorough evaluation process. In the context of leadership, authentic assessments conducted by leaders can be an important basis for strategic decision-making. This aims to ensure that decisions taken are not only on target but also able to achieve organizational goals effectively. The involvement of subordinates in the decision-making process is also a wise step, because it can increase a sense of ownership of the decision and make them part of the control process in carrying out tasks. This study used a quantitative method with a one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) approach in several groups of Principals' Working Meetings (MKKS) in Banten Province. Data were obtained through the distribution of questionnaires, which resulted in the following distribution: Strongly Agree (34.13%), Agree (37.38%), Neutral (17.69%), Disagree (7.69%), and Strongly Disagree (3.13%). Based on the results of the one-way ANOVA test with a calculated F-value = 3.38 and F-table = 2.11, the results obtained are that the calculated F-value? F-table. Thus, H? is rejected, which means there is a significant influence between the authentic assessment of leaders on decision-making in the MKKS forum in Banten Province. These results indicate the importance of the presence of authentic assessment as an indicator of leadership success in the educational context.

Abstract

The increasing prevalence of dysfunctional families poses challenges to students' academic performance. However, some students display academic resilience, maintaining achievement despite adversity. While most studies focus on Western contexts, this research explores how academic resilience is manifested and supported by protective factors within an Asian cultural context, where values may shape resilience differently. This systematic review followed PRISMA guidelines, examining eight peer-reviewed studies (2015-2024) across six Asian countries. Studies were identified through comprehensive database searches (Google Scholar, PsycINFO, Scopus, PubMed), selected based on rigorous inclusion criteria, and analyzed using structured narrative synthesis due to methodological heterogeneity. Academic resilience is manifested through sustained academic performance, learning motivation, emotional regulation, and independent decision-making despite family adversity. Protective factors operated at multiple levels: individual (self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation), familial (supportive relationships, authoritative parenting), educational (teacher support, school attachment), and sociocultural (collectivist values emphasizing education). These factors functioned interdependently, creating dynamic resilience systems shaped distinctively by Asian cultural contexts. Academic resilience in students from dysfunctional families, mainly in Asia, emerges through synergistic interactions between internal resources and external supports, and is profoundly shaped by Asian cultural values framing education as a familial duty. Educational institutions serve as critical resilience-fostering environments, underscoring the need for culturally-responsive interventions across ecological domains.
