Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the level of life skills of high school students in rural areas who take part in extracurricular sports. The method used in this research is a quantitative descriptive method. The participants in this study were high school students in rural areas who participated in extracurricular activities. A total of 240 students were used as participants, consisting of 87 male students and 153 female students. The research instrument used was the Life Skills Assessment Scale (LSAS) developed by Pearson and Kennedy. The results showed that the level of life skills of high school students in rural areas was in a high level category, both those who participated in sports and non-sports extracurricular activities. Meanwhile, the Sig. (2-Tailed) on the Independent Samples Mann-Whitney U test analysis is 0.477. This finding indicates that there is no significant difference in the life skills of high school students who participate in extracurricular sports compared to those who participate in non-sport extracurricular activities (Sig. (2-Tailed) 0.005)

Abstract

Among the general public, volleyball is a tremendously popular sport. From kids to adults, this sport is highly popular with individuals of all ages. Players from the Undana B men's volleyball team used the top serve technique in this study, but it wasn't the best because the ball was frequently caught in the net and, even when it went over the net, would still leave the playing surface. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how Undana B men's volleyball team players' arm muscle strength and upper serve abilities relate to one another. Twelve players from the Undana B men's volleyball team serve as the study samples for this thesis, which employs a quantitative descriptive methodology. Research that seeks to determine the relationship between two variables—specifically, variable X arm muscle strength and variable Y top service skills—is categorized as correlational research. Descriptive statistics, normality, linearity, and correlation tests using the SPSS 22 software are among the analyses needed to meet these standards. The linearity test results indicate a linear connection, and the residual values are normally distributed, according to data analysis from the normality test findings, which indicate that the significant values are 0.818 & 0.634 > 0.05. The high Sig value indicates this. The players' scores indicate a deviation from linearity of 0.221. Given that the analysis's significance level is higher than 0.05, it may be concluded that Ha is accepted and that the Undana B men's volleyball team's service talents and arm muscular strength are significantly correlated. This is evident from the Sig value, which is 0.000 in this study and less than the alpha value, which is 0, 05. The way that variables are interpreted

Abstract

Awards are a form of appreciation for the efforts and achievements of student athletes who have brought pride to their region. Sports are one of the benchmarks of success, both for athletes, regions, and countries. In addition, sports also reflect good cooperation between the government and the community. Athletes' achievements do not happen by chance but require full attention and support from the government. A survey was conducted on sports administrators in the West Bandung Regency area with 45 respondents. Based on the analysis, policy implementation and budget management have a significant influence on the expected success. Awards have been proven to motivate athletes, especially if given consistently and on time. Although the government has tried to improve the quality of awards every year, there are still many things that need to be improved, especially related to adequate support and training

Abstract

In recent years, sport has been seen not only as a means of health, achievement, and industry. More than that sport is considered as a means of developing the whole person. Developing life skills through sports has recently emerged as a study that has been extensively studied in various countries. In Indonesia, studies regarding the development of life skills through sports are still few. This study aims to scientifically reveal the study of life skills through sports in Indonesia through a systematic literature review. Article searches are limited to publications in sports journals in Indonesia over the past 10 years. A total of 18 articles have been found for analysis. The results of the study found 18 articles for further study. The focus of life skills research in Indonesia is more towards life skills improvement programs carried out through coaches for athletes or physical education teachers on school students. It is hoped that further research can expand the focus of studies related to the development of life skills in sports with various research methods to develop improvement programs, measurements, and concepts of life skills in sports

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the effect of giving fruit with high levels of antioxidants on reducing stress levels in martial arts athletes. This study used an experimental method with 18 trials using a pretest-posttest control group design, with a true experimental laboratory research type. The sample of this study used 20 martial arts athletes. The subjects were divided into 2 groups, namely the control group and the experimental group (which consumed fruit with high levels of antioxidants). The data obtained came from taking cubital vein blood, then the blood samples were taken to the laboratory to determine the MDA levels using the TBARS method. Data analysis used 3 stages, namely normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis test. The results obtained in this study were: 1) The normality test obtained data on the significance value of each group> 0.05 so that the data was normally distributed; 2) The homogeneity test obtained data on the significance value of each group> 0.05 so that the data was homogeneously distributed; 3) The results obtained in this study were that fruit with high antioxidant levels could reduce stress levels in martial arts athletes. Keywords: Fruit with high levels of antioxidants, stress levels, in martial arts atlhetes

Abstract

Character development of adolescents through physical activities is an effective medium in supporting athlete development, especially in forming values such as fair play, problem solving, and discipline. This study aims to analyze the level of implementation of fair play, problem solving, and discipline values in 39 roller skate athletes in Bandung City, and to identify factors such as gender and education level that influence the internalization of these values. This study used a quantitative descriptive design with a Likert scale-based questionnaire as the main instrument. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods with the help of IBM SPSS. The results showed that the fair play value had the highest average score of 28.59 (SD = 2.98), reflecting good internalization among athletes. Meanwhile, the problem solving and discipline values each had an average score of 24.51 (SD = 3.20) and 26.87 (SD = 2.94), indicating the need for further strengthening. The analysis also revealed that gender and education level factors had a significant influence on the implementation of these values, where female athletes and high school athletes scored higher. Overall, this study shows that the values of fair play, problem solving, and discipline in roller skate athletes in Bandung City have been well internalized, with fair play as the most dominant value. Female athletes and high school athletes dominate the level of internalization of these values. Roller skating can be an effective means to shape the character of athletes. However, strategic steps are needed to optimize athlete development holistically
