Abstract

Red lettuce (Lactuca sativa var. Crispa) is a leaf vegetable plant that has curly or wavy leaf shapes and reddish green color. This plant is favored by urban communities in the city because it has good nutritional value, is easy to grow, and is aesthetically pleasing. The limited space owned by the grower is the main obstacle in the cultivation of red lettuce in the city so that vertical or vertical cultivation techniques are needed. The vertical technique used is Wiremesh Tower Garden (WTG) verticulture. The aim of the study was to compare the effectiveness of the growth and production of red lettuce in WTG with conventional cultivation in the field. The environmental design used was a Randomized Block Design (RAK) which consisted of two factors, namely cultivation techniques as the first factor consisting of WTG and conventional/open land. While the spacing is the second factor which consists of 10x12 cm and 20x24 cm. The results of this study indicate that the wiremesh tower garden planting technique provides more efficient results in the cultivation of red lettuce. Spacing of 10x12 cm in the WTG planting technique gave good results for the variables of leaf width, number of leaves, crown fresh weight, root wet weight, production weight, and vitamin C content. The use of WTG planting technique with a spacing of 10x12 cm gave effective results in red lettuce cultivation, because the results of growth and production were not significantly different from planting techniques on land at the same spacing

Abstract

One of the business units of PT Hidroponik Padjadjaran Indonesia is engaged in Agroedutourism. The main income from this business is hydroponic education and training activities. The problem to be examined is that in recent years there has been a fluctuation in the number of visitors and training participants. This study aims to analyze the performance of agroedutourism at PT Hidroponik Padjadjaran Indonesia. In this research balanced scorecard approach is used which is based on financial, customer, internal business process, and learning perspectives. The results of the study indicate that from the financial perspective, the Return on Asset (ROA) value is 0,25 percent per year, Return on Equity (ROE) is 10,57 percent per year and the Net Profit Margin (NPM) value is 44 percent per year. From the consumer perspective, the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) value is 80 percent of consumers who are satisfied with the company's performance. From the learning perspective, with the results of 73,93 percent employees are satisfied with the company's performance. Morover from the internal business perspective, it is known that there are two innovative products produced that support the company's performance. The financial perspective show that ROA value is below the standard. The solution to improve the business performance is to provide intense service and promotion directly to schools in surrounding area as well as training to improve capacity building for employee.

Abstract

Tata ruang lanskap pada agrowisata di CV Wanda Strawberry masih belum optimal karena perencanaan lanskap agrowisata belum dilakukan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi lanskap tata ruang agrowisata yang telah diterapkan, melakukan analisis pasar pada pengembangan lanskap tata ruang agrowisata, membuat perencanaan lanskap tata ruang agrowisata, dan menganalisis penerimaan pendapatan agrowisata. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada tanggal April hingga Juli 2022. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi observasi, wawancara, pengisian kuesioner, dan pengumpulan data sekunder. Responden berasal dari pengelola dan pengunjung agrowisata yang dipilih secara acak sebanyak 30 orang. Analisis secara deskriptif yang digunakan adalah analisis kondisi umum, analisis pasar dan analisis penerimaan. Hasil identifikasi di lapangan menunjukkan lanskap tata ruang agrowisata yang ada pada saat ini masih belum optimal. Berdasarkan hasil analisis pasar menunjukkan kepentingan dan prioritas pengembangan fasilitas yang diinginkan oleh pengunjung, perlu penambahan fasilitas luas jalan masuk, luas lahan parkir, tempat bersantai (gazebo dan tempat duduk), tempat beribadah (musala), tempat bermalam (homestay), kantin/kafe, tempat sampah, toilet/WC, tempat berfoto, dan wifi area. Hasil perencanaan lanskap berupa peta layout agrowisata, block plan agrowisata, dan gambaran fasilitas agrowisata. Penerimaan perusahaan pada kegiatan agrowisata saat ini layak untuk dikembangkan dan masih berpotensi untuk dikembangkan lebih luas lagi.

Abstract

Ketersediaan daging dan telur di kalangan masyarakat perdesaan bersumber dari ayam kampung. Namun, produktivitas ayam kampung masih tergolong rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi penambahan asam amino glutamin secara in ovo pada periode inkubasi terhadap daya tetas dan berat tetas telur ayam kampung. Sebanyak 300 telur fertil yang digunakan, yang diinjeksi glutamin pada hari ke–7 periode inkubasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan, 3 ulangan. Adapun perlakuan yang diberikan terdiri dari P0 (kontrol negatif); P1 (injeksi 0,5 ml 0,9% NaCl); P2 (injeksi 0,5 ml 0,5% glutamin dalam 0,9% NaCl); P3 (injeksi 0,5 ml 1,0% glutamin dalam 0,9% NaCl); P4 (injeksi 0,5 ml 1,5% glutamin dalam 0,9% NaCl). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daya tetas telur yang diberi in ovo dengan 0,9% NaCl dan 0,5% glutamin lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kontrol dan perlakuan lain. Tidak ada pengaruh yang signifikan pada penambahan in ovo glutamin terhadap berat tetas dibandingkan dengan kontrol. Dengan demikian, penambahan asam amino glutamin secara in ovo pada hari ke–7 inkubasi menghasilkan daya tetas yang lebih tinggi pada penambahan NaCl tanpa glutamin dan berat tetas cenderung lebih tinggi pada level 1,5%.

Abstract

Strawberry is highly perishable due to their short shelf life and susceptibility to damage. Strawberries' quality and freshness require storage at an optimal and stable temperature, ideally between 0–4 °C. If the temperature is too low or too high, it may experience a decline in quality, nutritional value, and physical damage such as wilting, decay, or excessive moisture. This study aims to develop an automatic temperature monitoring system enabling users to monitor storage conditions via a web-based application. The system utilizes a DHT22 temperature and humidity sensor, ESP32 microcontroller, and an I2C LCD connected to Thingspeak.com to monitor temperature over 12 days at 4°C, calibrated using a thermohygrometer. The results show fruit color tends to darken during storage, with decreasing a* (redness) and b* (yellowness) values. The pH of the strawberries ranges from 3 to 6, indicating low acidity and falling below the ideal range. Weight loss percentage increased during storage, especially in cut strawberries with non-vacuum packaging, reaching 74,52%. Additionally, the moisture content in both whole and cut strawberries stored in non-vacuum packaging increased during storage. At 4 °C, the quality of strawberries could not be maintained for 20 days based on parameters such as color, pH, weight loss, and moisture content.

Abstract

Encapsulation in the combination of specification components with additional elements to create a capsule as a protective material. NPK fertilizer is one of the inorganic fertilizers that is used very efficiently in increasing the availability of macro nutrients N, P, and K replacing single fertilizers which are sometimes difficult to obtain and very expensive. Kale itself is a plant that is rich in nutrients, moreover it contains many high antioxidants and other good compounds and is also classified as a superfood plant. However, the development in Indonesia is still low due to land degradation and fertilizers that have been contaminated by other materials. The use of encapsulation in fertilizers is needed because it provides many benefits such as increasing soil binding capacity to water, facilitating root growth, storing water longer, efficient use and can be used in agricultural land, plantations, and critical land reclamation. The provision of NPK encapsulation can increase the effectiveness of plants, increase the substance of soil humus, growth hormones, enzymes and organic compounds in the soil. This study used a completely randomized design with two factors, namely the frequency of fertilization (once, twice, and thrice). The second factor is the encapsulation dose with 4 levels including control, 10, 15, and 20 gram. The results showed the best results in N1P1 for plant height, N1P2 for plant fresh weight with a dose of 10 grams and a fertilization frequency of 1 time and a dose of 10 grams and a fertilization frequency of 2 times. Giving a dose of NPK encapsulation of 10 grams (N1) is proven to increase growth and yield in kale plants and can be recommended as an alternative to kale plant cultivation.

Abstract

Indonesian food culture is known for its diversity in various aspects, including traditional Indonesian food. Livestock products such as meat and milk are ingredients that Indonesian people often use to make traditional food. The milk that is considered to have better digestibility and lower allergy potential is goat's milk. In addition, goat's milk can be processed as a carrier for functional ingredients, such as prebiotic ingredients or probiotic bacteria, into various products. Dali is one of Indonesia's traditional foods. North Sumatra has a fresh cheese called dali. Alo-alo leaves (Agave angustifolia) are an ingredient used in the coagulation process in making dali. This study aims to examine the physical, microbiological, and organoleptic characteristics of dali by using a coagulant of Agave angustifolia leaf juice and fresh cheese with commercial rennet coagulant during low-temperature storage. This research was carried out for 12 days and every 4 days pH, Total Plate Count (TPC), and organoleptic tests were observed, resulting in data on fresh dali and cheese H0, H4, H8, and H12 with low temperature storage. This research design was carried out in 3 replications and analyzed using the T-test to obtain TPC and pH data, while for organoleptic data using Kruskal-Wallis. The results of the analysis on the Total Plate Count (TPC) of dali and fresh cheese showed a significant difference (P<0,05), namely on day 0, while the pH test of dali and dangke showed a significant difference (P<0,05) on day 0 and 4th. Panelists preferred fresh cheese over Dali, based on organoleptic test results.

Abstract

The conversion of agricultural land reduces the available forage cultivation areas, making post-coal mining land a potential alternative. However, its poor soil fertility requires specific treatments to enhance nutrient content. This study evaluates the effect of Trichoderma harzianum (TH) on compost quality and the impact of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) on the growth of Hymenachne amplexicaulis (Rudge) Ness (kumpai grass). The first phase analyzed compost pH, N, P, K, C, and C/N ratio with treatments: P0= (control: 40% cow manure, 35% empty palm bunches, 20% palm fronds, 4% rice bran, 1% urea), P1 (P0 + 2% TH), P2 (P0 + 4% TH), and P3 (P0 + 6% TH). The second phase examined using a factorial design (3×2) of the effects of compost (A0=0 g, A1=12 g, and A2=24 g) and AMF (B0 =0 gr/pot, B1= 20gr/pot). Results showed that TH increased compost C, N, P, and C/N ratio but did not affect pH and K (P>0.05). Compost and AMF interacted to improve Kumpai dry matter yield, while AMF alone increased the number of tillers. Plant height and root dry matter were unaffected. The best compost quality was obtained with 6% TH, while 20 g AMF per pot maximized tiller production. The optimal combination was A2B1 (24 g compost + 20 g AMF per pot), indicating a significant interaction between TH and AMF in enhancing kumpai grass biomass. These findings highlight the potential of integrating compost and AMF to improve post-mining land fertility and forage production.

Abstract

MSMEs in Indonesia's culinary sector face increasingly complex competitive challenges due to product similarities and shifting consumer preferences. In this context, this study aims to develop a customer-centered marketing strategy by integrating the flywheel marketing approach into the Business Model Canvas (BMC) framework for the Nasi Kebuli Dasuki MSME. This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with SWOT analysis to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats faced by the business. The results of IFAS and EFAS analysis indicated that Nasi Kebuli Dasuki is positioned within an aggressive strategy quadrant, enabling the use of internal strengths to seize external opportunities. The proposed marketing strategy adopted a flywheel approach through three key stages: attract (drawing in customers), engage (building involvement), and delight (maintaining loyalty), all of which were systematically mapped into the nine BMC elements. Key findings demonstrate that this strategy effectively enhances customer loyalty, expands market reach through digital channels, and adds value through environmentally friendly practices and strong customer service. This study concludes that the flywheel marketing strategy offers a relevant and sustainable approach to supporting MSME growth in the digital era, especially within Indonesia's local culinary sector.

Abstract

BSF maggot meal has the potential as an alternative raw material for animal feed that is rich in animal protein, especially in the cultivation of local broiler chickens. AKA chickens and KUB chickens are local meat chickens that are widely cultivated in Indonesia. AKA chickens and KUB chickens are local meat chickens that are widely cultivated in Indonesia. The study aimed to examine the performance of AKA and KUB chickens during the starter period given feed containing 7,5% BSF maggot meal. The experimental design in this study used a completely randomized design (CRD). Maintenance or research was conducted for four weeks with observations on three thousand AKA (P1) and three thousand KUB (P2) chickens, each divided into two repetitive groups. The observed variables were the performance of local poultry performance of starter period chickens. The results showed that the provision of 7,5% BSF maggot meal in feed had a significant effect (P<0,05) on body weight, body weight gain, depletion rate and feed conversion of the starter period. Body weight fourth week in P1 was 181,11±0,62 and P2 was 157,97±0,75. Cumulative body weight gain in P1 was 149,12±0,78 and P2 was 130,32±0,31. The depletion rate of P1 was 10,20±0,28 and P2 was 24,08±0,04. Feed conversion of body weight of P1 was 2,69±0,01 and P2 was 3,10±0,01. Based on these parameters, the performance of AKA chickens was better when compared to the performance of KUB chickens. Providing feed containing maggot meal to local broiler chickens can produce good production performance during the starter period, and AKA chickens provide a better response compared to KUB chickens.
