Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to describe the initial reading ability of the first graders of State Elementary School 35 South Pontianak and to describe what are the factors that cause difficulty in reading the beginning of grade I students of State Elementary School 35 South Pontianak. Qualitative data were obtained from the results of the students' initial reading ability test and the results of interviews by researchers with the homeroom teacher. Research instruments in the form of interviews, observations and documentation. Based on the results of the study, from 32 students it can be concluded that students' difficulties from the overall content aspect in the initial reading test were from the percentage results there were 10 people or 0.32% for the very capable category, 11 people or 0.34% of the able category, 6 people or 0.18% for the moderately able category, and 5 people or 0.15% for the poor category. Factors that affect early reading ability are physical health factors, neurological factors, gender factors, intellectual factors, environmental factors such as social and economic factors for students' families, psychological factors including motivation and interest as well as psychological factors. It turns out that not all factors occur in the field, as for the factors that do not affect the reading ability of students at 35 South Pontianak Elementary School, namely the gender factor.Keywords: Beginning, Difficulty, Read

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the speed of reading ability of grade X students of SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak. The method used is descriptive to describe the ability of students in speed reading, with the form of research that is qualitative. The subjects of this study were 34 students of class X G SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak. The data obtained is the result of the reading speed of students in the discourse that has been given in the form of speed of reading ability test results, determining the main idea of paragraphs, and understanding the content of the discourse. The results of the analysis of the speed of reading ability of grade X students of SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak based on the ideal speed category for high school students are 14 students who have speeds below average, people with average / ideal speed, and 15 people above average. Furthermore, the results of determining the main idea of the students' paragraph were three people got good grades (B), nine people got enough marks (C), and 16 people got less marks (D). Finally, the results of the analysis of the ability to understand the content of discourse of grade X students of SMA Negeri 4 Pontianak were four people who got a very good grade category (A), 10 people got a good grade category (B), four people 129 got a sufficient score category (C), and 16 people got a less score category (D).

Abstract

AbstractThe research aims to describe the thematic learning problems using the fifth grade teacher's online system. The research method is a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The participants in this study were class VA teachers and class VB teachers as informants and respondents totaled 24 people consisting of 6 class VA students, 6 VB class students, 6 VA class parents and 6 VB class parents. totaling 6 people. The research instrument is the human instrument. Data collection techniques are interviews, questionnaires/questionnaires, documentation studies. The data analysis technique used is the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the research teachers have made preparations for preparing lesson plans, learning materials, learning methods, determining the type of learning media, participating in online learning training using the WhatsApp application, Google Meet, and learning videos made by themselves or adopted from Youtube. The teacher's constraints are during the process of delivering learning materials, the process of interaction with students in the learning process, obstacles during evaluation and learning objectives, and when managing teaching materials. the teacher's solution is to attend seminars or training on information technology and learn from teachers in schools who have broader insights, provide guidance to children in groups or individually.Keywords: Description, Implementation of Thematic Learning, Online System

Abstract

Quizizz is a application that contains online quiz games, which are mainly designed for students to play and learn at the same time. The purpose of the author's study using Quizizz application is to find out whether the use of Quizizz application is effective in improving the vocabulary mastery of Mandarin language among the second grade students of Kemala Bhayangkari Junior High School. In addition, to analyze the students' response to the use of Quizizz application. The author conducted the study using experimental, test and questionnaire methods in the second grade of Kemala Bhayangkari Junior High School. According to the results of this study, it can be seen that the students' post-test scores are higher than the pre-test scores; the average score of the students on the pre-test is 56.4, while the average score of the students on the post-test has increased to 84.5 after using the Quizizz application. Therefore, the use of Quizizz application is effective in improving Mandarin vocabulary mastery. The students' responses to Quizizz were summarized as follows: practicing vocabulary with Quizizz was fun and satisfying for the students, and they had no problems using all the features of Quizizz.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to identify and determine development strategies that can be carried out on tourism potential in Gunung Sembilan Village. This research is a descriptive type of research with a qualitative research form. Sources of research data on tourism development strategies in Gunung Sembilan Village are in the form of documents, archives, and other records that strengthen the picture of the situation through visual language. Data collection techniques are observation and interviews. The results of this study are (1) the distribution of potential and identification of tourism potential, both natural tourism and cultural tourism in Gunung Sembilan Village (2) The condition of tourism potential in terms of accessibility is good. This is because the distance between one potential and another is close, but there are still some access roads that are still not good to use or pass. (3) The strategy that can be done is the SO strategy, which is to take advantage of existing opportunities and then add various supporting facilities and various additional attractions to attract tourists. Community involvement is very necessary so that this strategy can run well and make the development carried out run smoothly.Keyword: identification, strategy, tourism potential

Abstract

This study discipline research aims to test the effectiveness of counseling groups with self-management techniques to improve learning discipline class VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya. Research methods that used is an experiment with the form of Pre-Experimental Design research with the research design One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Technique sampling using Nonprobability Sampling technique with types Purposive Sampling in which the samples were taken as many as 6 class VIII. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale and tested the validity and reliability of the questionnaire. The results of the sub-problem research one and two, namely the level of learning discipline obtained before being given service group counseling with self-management techniques is 81.00 and after given service is 131.33. Furthermore, for the sub-problems three obtained value, that is sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 0.05 which means there is a significant difference significantly between the level of learning discipline of students before and after given group counseling with self-management techniques. So got it was concluded that group counseling with self-management techniques was effective to improve the learning discipline of class VIII at SMP Negeri 1 Sungai Raya.

Abstract

AbstractThe study aims to describe the intrinsic elements contained in the soul mirror novels by S. Prasetyo Utomo, and to describe the result of the research implementation of the research on the intrinsic element of the soul mirror novels on learning Indonesian at school.The metode used is descriptive method with a qualitative form. The data source in this study is a soul mirror novels by S. Prasetyo Utomo.his study managed to find terms of aspects theme, message, plot, setting, character, characterization, point of view, style of laguage. The data obtained are in the form of findings and explanations from aspects of novel intrinsic elements. Data collection techniques were taken using documentary study techniques. Research data in the form of text, sentences, and words contained in the novels. The data collection data is the author himself.the result of this study can be implemented in Indonesian language learning at the twelfth grade of high school level on theory novels text.Keywords:Novels, Structure Analysis, Literature

Abstract

This study aims to analyze language variations, namely the register used by ale-ale fishermen in Ketapang Regency. The research method used is descriptive and the form of this research is qualitative research. The data in this study are in the form of utterances used by fishermen during catching ale-ale. The data collection technique used is the listening technique with the tapping method. The results of the analysis show that there are 32 registers used by ale-ale fishermen. Based on the results of the analysis, there are 12 closed registers and 20 open registers. In addition, there are 5 registers that have changed meaning. Based on the results of the analysis that has been carried out, it is hoped that it can add insight and new vocabulary in the Ketapang Malay dialect dictionary.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine the social behavior of the community after theconstruction of the Gunung Gajah Square Park in Pemangkat, Pemangkat KotaDistrict, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan. The general problem in thisresearch is social behavior changes in the form of cooperation and respect forthe community after the construction of the Gunung Gajah Square Park inPemangkat. The method used in this research is descriptive in the form ofqualitative research. Data collection techniques used are observation,interviews and documentation. The data collection tools used are observationguides, interview guides and documentation. There are 4 informants from thecommunity who live in Gunung Gajah Park Square in Pemangkat, PemangkatKota District, Sambas Regency. Analysis of research data is presented in aqualitative descriptive manner. The results of this study indicate that socialbehavior in the form of cooperation and respect is still well established and afterthe construction of the Gunung Gajah Square Park added a sense of unity tohelp respect the local residents and take care of each other in the Gunung GajahPark Square in Pemangkat.Keywords: Change, Social Behavior, Society, Taman Alun-alun Gunung Gajah

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of the research is to find the relationship between mathematical beliefs and learning outcomes. This research uses ex post facto method and correlational research form. The samples in the study were students of class VIII A, the data obtained in the study were the results of a questionnaire on mathematical beliefs and the value of learning outcomes. Based on the results of the research, it was found that 0.594 showed a relationship between mathematical beliefs and learning outcomes and was in the moderate category. So it can be concluded that if mathematical confidence is high, learning outcomes are also high. Keywords : Mathematical belief, Learning outcomes
