Abstract

Postpartum blues refers to mood changes experienced in the first days after giving birth. This problem appears starting three days to four days after giving birth with several symptoms such as emotional instability, anxiety, fatigue, confusion, irritability and others. From this postpartum problem, the aim of this research is that by providing auricular acupressure nursing therapy to mothers who have signs of baby blues, it can prevent recurrent baby blues. Mothers with postpartum blues, postpartum depression can become a psychological problem in pregnant women if ignored. Although postpartum blues has no specific medical treatment, it must be monitored in connection with the occurrence of diagnostic criteria for postpartum depression. This type of research is quantitative with a one group pretest and posttest research design. The results of auricular acupressure given to the mother after giving birth can prevent subsequent baby blues after giving birth. Auricular acupressure is effective in reducing postnatal sadness and depression, reducing maternal fatigue, and improving mother-infant attachment in the short term after birth.

Abstract

The risk factors for non-typhoidal Salmonella infections in pediatric populations are not fully understood, but this remains a critical area of study for improving child health. Objective: The aim of this review is to systematically analyze the available literature about the risk factors of non typhoidal salmonella among pediatric populations. Method: The risk factors for non-typhoidal Salmonella infections in children were examined in all papers published between 2019 and 2024 using a systematic review of the literature using PRISMA criteria. Google Scholar, PubMed, and ProQuest are the three electronic databases that the writers searched. The query "children” AND “risk factors” AND “non-typhoidal salmonella” OR “salmonellosis" was used. The outcomes were then examined appropriately. Results: We initially identified 1983 articles and subsequently selected 7 articles that met the inclusion criteria. We identified several risk factors associated with non-typhoidal Salmonella infections and categorized them into four domains: environmental factors (such as open field waste disposal), behavioral habits (like inadequate handwashing), health conditions, and socio-demographic characteristics (such as lower parental education). Conclusions: Our review identified risk factors for non-typhoidal Salmonella infections in four domains: environmental factors, behavioral habits, health conditions, and socio-demographic characteristics.

Abstract

School is a primary environment for early adolescents, shaping and influencing various aspects of their quality of life. Therefore, understanding the determinant factors affecting the quality of life at school for early adolescents is essential to creating a supportive and empowering educational environment. The aim of this study was to identify the determinant factors of quality of life at school for early adolescents. This study employs a cross-sectional design. The population of this study includes early adolescents in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas. The sampling technique used is consecutive sampling, with a total of 558 respondents. This study uses multivariate analysis through multiple logistic regression. The results indicate that gender is not a significant predictor of quality of life at school for early adolescents (Exp(B) = 0.59, CI = 0.24-1.41); school status is also not significant (Exp(B) = 0.91, CI = 0.13-6.37); physical activity has a significantly negative impact on quality of life at school (Exp(B) = 0.21, CI = 0.07-0.64); number of absences from school is not significant (Exp(B) = 1.69, CI = 0.28-10.32); peer relationships have a significantly positive impact (Exp(B) = 7.98, CI = 1.34-47.50); academic stress is not significant (Exp(B) = 1.33, CI = 0.10-17.43); bullying incidents have a very high significantly positive impact (Exp(B) = 67.04, CI = 34.07-131.93); time spent on social media has a significantly positive impact (Exp(B) = 9.05, CI = 4.57-17.90); family support has a significantly strong negative impact (Exp(B) = 0.03, CI = 0.00-0.25); physical school environment is not significant (Exp(B) = 0.35, CI = 0.06-1.98). The factor most related to quality of life at school for early adolescents is bullying incidents. This can serve as a basis for appropriate interventions focused on significant factors to help create a more supportive and empowering educational environment for adolescents.

Abstract

Hemodialysis patients experience many stressors related to the medical procedures they undergo. This causes various psychological problems in patients, including depression. Patients' psychological problems can affect their physical conditions, one of them is clinical outcomes. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Group CBT with mindfulness on depression and clinical outcomes of hemodialysis patients in Jendral Ahmad Yani Hospital. Method: A quasi-experiment with a pre-post test design and a control group was the study methodology employed. Data from patients who reported depression in the intervention group were assessed both before and after the group CBT with mindfulness intervention. Consecutive sampling was used to create the research sample, which included 66 respondents in total 33 for the intervention group and 33 for the control group. BDI II was the research tool utilized to measure depression’s score. Before and after CBT, depression scores and clinical outcomes were measured. For statistical testing, the paired t test was utilized for depression and the Wilcoxon test for clinical outcomes. Results: According to the findings, depression significantly declined in the intervention group compared to the control group (p-value: 0.000), and improved clinical outcomes results (p-value: 0.000) after CBT. Conclusions: Group CBT with mindfulness effectively reduces the level of depression and improve clinical outcomes of patients to be better. By providing specialized nursing interventions, the hemodialysis room can work to improve clinical outcomes for hemodialysis patients, reduce depression, provide comprehensive and high-quality nursing care that is integrated into their health services.
