Abstract

This study aims to analyse the development and impact of pop-up book media in education over the past four decades, focusing on their effectiveness as pedagogical tools for enhancing learning experiences among young readers. A bibliometric analysis was conducted using data sourced from Scopus, examining 117 articles related to pop-up books and education. The analysis employed performance assessment and science mapping techniques to evaluate research contributions and relationships within the field. The findings reveal that pop-up books engage young readers through interactive, tactile, visual, and textual modalities, significantly improving reading literacy and comprehension. They have been effectively integrated into various subjects, including language and art, and have shown positive outcomes in enhancing creativity and cognitive abilities among children. However, challenges such as high production costs and limited accessibility remain. The study underscores the potential of pop-up books as effective educational resources, advocating for their broader implementation in early childhood education. It suggests that educators and curriculum developers should consider incorporating pop-up books to foster engagement and improve learning outcomes. This research contributes to the existing literature by providing a comprehensive bibliometric overview of pop-up books in education, highlighting their evolving role and the need for further exploration of hybrid learning tools that combine physical and digital elements.

Abstract

Statistical habits of mind (SHOM) is a habit of mind needed to understand, analyze, and interpret data effectively. This research aims to develop an instrument in the affective aspect of measuring SHOM that is valid and reliable. The results showed that the SHOM instrument developed consisted of five faktorons, namely 1) Context of Data, 2) Intuition, 3) Inquiry, 4) Skeptical and Careful, and 5) Thinking Beyond the Textbook. Based on the factor analysis results, it was found that the SHOM instrument is content-valid and reliable but not yet construct-valid. This is indicated by the number of factors formed (13 factors) does not match the number of factors planned in the preparation of the instrument (5 factors), and there are 6 items that have insufficient factor loading values.

Abstract

This research aims to internalize the values of hard work based on the local wisdom of Bugis 3S (Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, Sipakainge) among street children in Makassar, analyze its impact on their quality of life, and provide recommendations for empowerment programs rooted in local wisdom. The study employs a qualitative method with an ethnographic design to understand the cultural and social contexts of street children in Makassar, focusing on the values of hard work from Bugis 3S. Data collection involved in-depth interviews with the Social Service, street children, local communities, figures, and Bugis experts, as well as participatory observation to observe their social interactions. The next phase involved designing intervention programs based on Bugis 3S values, engaging in group discussions and interactive workshops with street children, and consulting cultural experts to ensure alignment with local wisdom. The findings indicate that collaboration among various parties in Makassar supports the internalization of hard work and moral values among street children through six strategies rooted in Bugis 3S: educational approaches, soft skills training, group work programs, public awareness campaigns, psychological support, and community involvement. These strategies aim to build character and enhance the quality of life for street children. The study concludes that the strategies based on Bugis 3S effectively instill hard work and moral values in street children in Makassar, requiring full participation from the community, government, and non-governmental organizations. This process enhances the children's ability to face life's challenges while fostering self-esteem and positive social interactions.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of Kuttab in Indonesia as an agent for the socialization of religious values in the context of modernization. The research employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology, analyzing scientific articles published between 2014 and 2024. Talcott Parsons' Structural Functional Theory is used to examine how Kuttab adapts, functions, and remains relevant within modern Islamic education. The findings reveal that Kuttab successfully adapts to modernization through an independent curriculum rooted in classical Islamic teachings, such as the Qur'an and Hadith, while integrating contemporary knowledge. Technology is utilized selectively to support learning without compromising religious principles. Additionally, Kuttab actively socializes faith and moral values, not only through classroom activities but also by involving parents in the learning process. The success of Kuttab in maintaining its relevance depends on the integration of internal components (educators, students) and external factors (parents, community, government). Traditional educational methods, such as lectures and memorization, are preserved to maintain Islamic cultural heritage and shape young generations with strong Islamic character. This study offers practical insights for modern Islamic educational institutions to design adaptive curricula that remain rooted in traditional values and emphasizes parental involvement in education. The findings also support Structural Functional Theory, highlighting the importance of integration in maintaining social stability through education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of the Team Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model on improving students' learning interest in Pancasila Education for Grade X students at SMA Negeri 3 Kota Blitar. The research employed an experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design. The sample consisted of 60 students divided into two groups: a control group and an experimental group. The experimental approach used a pre-test and post-test design, with 68 students divided into two groups: the experimental group (X-1) and the control group (X-7). Before conducting the study, a trial was conducted to determine the validity of the questionnaire. The validity and reliability tests showed reliability coefficients of 0.877 for the experimental group and 0.881 for the control group, both exceeding the threshold of 0.60. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed through assumption testing, including normality and heteroscedasticity tests. The normality test, conducted using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method, yielded a significance value of 0.648, indicating that the data were normally distributed. The heteroscedasticity test produced a significance value of 0.976, suggesting no heteroscedasticity issues. Hypothesis testing was carried out using a partial t-test, which revealed that the TGT model had a significant positive effect on students' learning interest, as the t-value (2.095) exceeded the t-table value (2.036), and the significance value (0.039) was less than 0.05. These results support the hypothesis that TGT significantly influences students' learning interest. The study concluded that the TGT model effectively enhances student engagement and communication skills in the context of cooperative learning.
