Abstract

This study examines the independent curriculum for rural schools through a constructivist perspective. This study uses qualitative techniques with literature evaluation (Library Research). The purpose of this study is to investigate the implementation of the independent curriculum in rural schools through a constructivist perspective. The independent curriculum allows schools to develop contextual and relevant learning for the needs of their students, especially in rural areas with unique problems. The constructivist approach to learning emphasizes students' active relationship with their environment, allowing them to construct knowledge from real-world experiences. This study uses qualitative methodology with a case study approach in rural schools. The results of the study indicate that although the adoption of the independent curriculum in rural schools has limitations such as limited resources and access to technology, it has great promise to produce relevant and meaningful learning through a constructivist approach. This study concludes that the independent curriculum can be maximized in rural schools by adapting it to local conditions and improving teacher competency in implementing a constructivist learning approach.

Abstract

The village of Rasau Jaya Dua is primarily composed of peatlands, and since most of its residents are farmers, much of their agricultural activities take place on these lands. The practice of burning peatlands for farming purposes raises the risk of forest and land fires. Additionally, careless actions like burning waste or improperly discarding cigarette butts on peatlands can also trigger fires. For this reason, researchers must evaluate the community"™s level of emergency response planning as part of their disaster preparedness efforts. This study uses descriptive quantitative research with a questionnaire as the main data collection method. A total of 44 people participated in the study. The results revealed that the Rasau Jaya Dua Village community  has emergency response plans for forest and land fires, with 48% having a high-level plan, 6% moderate, and 25% low. The community also has fire suppression tools and basic supplies such as clean water, first aid kits, and masks.

Abstract

This research discusses the phenomenon of nighlife and the social reality of women's nighlife in Bira Beach, Bulukumba, South Sulawesi. Nightlife in this tourist area is not only an attraction for tourists but also reflects complex socio-economic dynamics. The presence of night women in Bira Beach is often influenced by life pressures, economic limitations, and lack of access to education and formal employment opportunities. For some women, night work becomes a strategy for survival as well as a space to escape social and family pressures. This phenomenon also functions as a new social space where individuals can express freedom and rebuild self-identity. Using a qualitative approach and an interpretive paradigm, this research reveals the motivations, dynamics of social interaction, and impacts of nightlife on the women involved. The findings show that nightlife at Bira Beach functions not only as a space of escapism but also presents social challenges, including stigma and marginalization. This phenomenon is relevant to sociological studies, particularly in understanding the impacts of globalization, modernization, and the conflict between local cultural values and modern economic needs. A multidimensional approach is necessary to create inclusive solutions, such as socio-economic empowerment, changing societal perceptions, and community-based interventions. Through these measures, women in the nightlife industry are expected to break free from cycles of poverty and social stigma and gain opportunities to improve their quality of life. This study makes a significant contribution to understanding the relationship between nightlife, social escapism, and the economic-cultural dynamics in coastal communities.

Abstract

This literature study examines the influence of social media on social interactions in schools by collecting and analyzing various studies conducted by previous researchers. With the increasing use of social media among students, it is important to understand how social media influences school interactions by focusing on positive and negative effects. The findings from this study show that social media can influence social interactions at school in both positive and negative ways. On the one hand, social media makes communication between students easier and maintains their relationships both outside of school and at school. On the other hand, studies also identify negative impacts such as the emergence of anti-social attitudes due to excessive use of social media. Based on the results of the literature review, it is necessary to take a holistic approach to understanding the influence of social media on social interactions in schools. The lack of research on the impact of social media on social interactions in schools requires further research to explore effective strategies for managing social media use and identify best practices that can support healthy social interactions in the digital era.
