Abstract

The emergence of homeless people in Lhokseumawe City is influenced by structural factors, especially the economic system that causes some people to be marginalized and unable to meet basic needs. Aceh Qanun Number 11 of 2013 concerning Social Welfare, specifically Articles 45 and 46 paragraph (1), requires local governments to address this problem. This study aims to analyze the Lhokseumawe City Government's policy in handling homeless people through the Social Service, and identify the obstacles faced. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out through reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Qanun has not been effective, characterized by budget limitations, minimal facilities such as shelters, and a lack of ongoing development. External obstacles include cultural influences, minimal family support, and low public awareness. The conclusion of the study confirms that this policy has not been able to significantly reduce the number of homeless people. Recommendations include strengthening cross-sector coordination, and providing adequate social rehabilitation facilities to support the reintegration of homeless people into society.

Abstract

Cancer is a dangerous disease and one of the leading causes of death worldwide. One of the treatments for cancer is radiotherapy. Proton radiotherapy has been widely developed due to its advantage of reducing damage to healthy tissue surrounding the cancer. The source of proton radiotherapy comes from an accelerator, and currently, the most commonly developed type is the cyclotron. This study aims to simulate and analyze the effect of the dee radius on the kinetic energy produced by the cyclotron. The research was conducted using an in silico method with the Python programming language. Based on the simulation results, the kinetic energy produced by the cyclotron for dees radii of 0.2 m, 0.25 m, 0.3 m, 0.35 m, and 0.4 m are 1.644 MeV, 2.639 MeV, 3.941 MeV, 5.462 MeV, and 7.246 MeV, respectively. Therefore, the larger the dee radius used, the greater the kinetic energy of the proton produced. This occurs because a larger dee radius allows the proton to pass through the gap between the dees more frequently. When the proton crosses the gap between the dees, its velocity increases due to acceleration caused by the potential difference between the two dees, resulting in higher kinetic energy.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted various sectors in Cirebon Regency, including the transportation system, especially elf-type city transportation services. This study aims to analyze the ability to pay, level of satisfaction, and ease of public access to elf transportation services in Cirebon Regency. Data collection was conducted through an online questionnaire survey with 100 respondents, determined using the Slovin method with a margin of error of 10%. The results showed that the average tariff set by elf drivers was Rp3.038,46, while the majority of respondents were able to pay up to Rp 4.000,00. Before the pandemic, ease of access was considered quite good, but decreased during the pandemic due to operational restrictions and fleet reduction. User satisfaction levels have been stable, with the majority of respondents rating the service as adequate. These findings suggest that despite the pandemic, public acceptance of elf services remains high. Therefore, policies that support the sustainability of public transportation are needed, such as improving comfort, operational efficiency, and adjusting tariffs according to people's purchasing power. This has been proven in the field, with these improvements making it easier for people to access mobility and also having an impact on the regional economy.

Abstract

Mindanao, a key agricultural region in the southern Philippines, is increasingly vulnerable to climate-induced food crises. Recent hydro meteorological disasters, notably floods, have caused crop failures across more than 20,000 hectares of rice fields and 8,800 hectares of staple crops, threatening local food supply stability. These challenges are compounded by limited human resource capacity in agricultural sectors and fragmented domestic policy responses. Within this context, the BIMP-EAGA Vision 2025 offers a strategic platform for sub regional cooperation, aiming to strengthen food security through climate adaptation strategies, agricultural technology transfer, and regional trade facilitation. This study employs a qualitative approach and policy analysis to examine the mechanisms through which BIMP-EAGA contributes to mitigating the food crisis in Mindanao. Three focus areas are analyzed the establishment of a food security corridor to stabilize commodity supply chains, capacity building for farmers through cross-border knowledge and technology exchange, and mobilization of agricultural infrastructure funding within the Vision 2025 framework. The findings reveal that BIMP-EAGA’s cooperative initiatives have enhanced access to regional food reserves and facilitated cross-border trade, reducing the immediate impacts of crop failures. However, implementation remains constrained by disparities in resource allocation, institutional coordination gaps, and policy misalignments between member states. This study addresses a significant research gap by providing an in-depth analysis of how Vision 2025 operationalizes food security measures at a sub-regional scale, offering insights into policy harmonization for climate-resilient agriculture in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

The development of the modern workplace demands that companies create adaptive work systems, including through the implementation of flexible work policies and efforts to maintain a balance between work and personal life for employees. This study aims to determine the effect of flexible work policies and work-life balance on employee performance, specifically for Grab drivers in the Polonia CBD area. This study used a quantitative approach with data collection techniques through distributing questionnaires to respondents selected non-probabilistically. The data obtained were analyzed using multiple linear regression methods with the assistance of statistical software. The results showed that flexible work policies did not have a significant impact on individual employee performance. Conversely, work-life balance was proven to have a positive and significant impact on improving employee performance. Meanwhile, together, both variables made a significant contribution to employee performance. From these findings, it can be concluded that efforts to create a balance between work and personal life have a more significant impact on performance than simply providing flexibility in work. Therefore, companies are advised to integrate flexible work policies with employee welfare support programs to create a more productive and sustainable work environment.
